I'm new here, someone brief me about this bitcointalk.org some years ago but I never show any interest, base on the nature of my job because they don't allow us to have access to our phone for security reasons in the company but I have quite the Job for some reason best know to me, am fully ready to learn bitcoin and cryptocurrency, and rules and conditions that governed the forum. Hope am in the right discussion section to create this topic? or someone can help me move it to the right discussion section, am happy to be here lovers of bitcoin.

Op, first of all you are welcome to this great forum, we all are needed here to learn and share our views on Bitcoin and all crypto related matters, although individual decisions are respected which am not against in any form but the truth is that quiting your job to embrace Bitcoin doesnt really sound well to me, despite how strict your employers are in term not making use of smartphones in the office, you can still make use of this smartphone when you reach home, bitcoin investment shouldnt be a sole career of a person with what I know Bitcoin investment is not even a career although i dont know if you have saved enough for the investment itself, even if you have, you still need your job to keep making your portfolio bulky, for me, this bitcointalk forum is a community where different people discuss and share ideas mainly on bitcoin but I don't think it is a career, many people here has other jobs they do beside this forum was not created for employment, yea, i have seen that you have resigned from your Job for personal reason which i dont have the right to question but my sincere advise is for you is to get a new job in other to follow up your investment plans.

God!

I got countless notifications from this thread due to a phrase used in this thread. This is very common for me, but when people start replying day and night, my phone goes crazy with notifications. Let's get back to the topic. I am glad that you already know how to create a thread and where to write. You should focus on navigating the forum first and exploring threads.

Just stick with the forum and read more and spend more than an hour every day. You will end up learning many things. I didn't even realize when I have learned these things. I remember I didn't know the difference between Non custodial wallets and the Centralized exchanges.

You are welcome to the forum. If you quit working because you want to start learning about cryptocurrency and you want to know more about the forum I think you are wrong because it is not advisable here to focus only on Bitcoin investment without having a good source of income which will cover your financial sustainability, you need to get a job while you learn so that you won't rush to dive into making an investment without gaining proper knowledge and investing in Bitcoin doesn't guarantee instant wealth because it is not a Ponzi scheme so I advise you get a another job such that you can be allowed to have access to your phone so that you will keep learning and also start saving up so you can have your investment capital when you are fully ready to invest.
This forum or the crypto investment itself is not designed in exchange of a real life job, but should serve as an additional income or side hustle instead, otherwise if this forum will suddenly become inaccessible, we will end up seeing ourselves struggling to sustain our basic needs, and that living life will definitely become a very difficult one. So get a job first while you are still in the process of learning about this forum and the cryptocurrency investment. In the end, you will realize that it’s better to have multiple sources of income, at least when one fails, you still have other one to rely for survival.

Did you re read your story that is full of suspicious information?

Your employer can prohibit you to use phone for security reasons when you are in their company, at your working office. But how about when you go home?

You will be free to use your computer, phone to access this forum or access Google to search if you want to know about this forum. The employer has no right to prohibit things you do at your home.

Well you have spoken my mind @SquirrelJulietGarden. I thought as much, right from the oncept I suspected that all what he says are all lies. reason being that if he is not allowed to operate his mobile device at work he should be able to operate at home at night. Or does it mean that his phone is permanently sized in the site? Secondly he said if this board is not the right board that it should be moved to another board, meaning he usually visit this forum but pretend as if he doesn't. Otherwise how would he knows about the right board or not. That is by the way, all I can advice him is to concentrate and read more to understand more about the forum.

Not much steps. Try to read more than your need to make posts because that way it will save you the stress of creating a thread on something or a question someone must have talked about or asked. Take this thread here for instance. The newbie asked a question that's similar to yours and is not far back from this one you made.
Helpful suggestions have even been given and if you give yourself to reading more like I said earlier, you'd find that most questions you may have have been treated and you no longer loom like a novice because truthfully, if you aren't a reader, those links provided will mean nothing to you.
All the same, welcome to the forum.
I will agree with you. Honestly, it’s not hard to learn in the forum as long as you keep yourself busy reading. There’s a lot to learn in the forum most particularly for newbies, and the only way to get there is to become a constant reader. With patience and high determination to learn every single day, you will slowly began to understand how the forum works and how it becomes so useful and beneficial to all of us. Not only in the field of cryptocurrency, but even to the current world topics that I think every citizen is required to know.
My point exactly. How can you know if you don't devote yourself to reading? This is a space for sharing information about Bitcoin and other things in general and what determines how fast you grow is the level of patience and time you give to knowing more. Even when you want to trade and invest in Bitcoin, if you don't do your research, you become easy target to all these scammers who take advantage of unsuspecting and naive individuals.
Granted, there are those people who learn differently, not at the pace of others but the more you keep asking questions that can be easily gotten when you browse the internet, you find that you only get a pocket of info that person is privy to, whereas the internet would have given you a wider range. The importance of reading more than posting can't be overstated.

You're highly welcome op to the best forum, you can see some of the Links people have send to you through this trend, which are very important to newbies like you to read and study them night and day to improve in quality post.

If you have never leave your job, I will advise you not to leave your job because of this forum because you can learn whatsoever you want to learn when you come back from work, which there are some people in that category not to have access to their phone or laptop but wherever they are back from work they visit the forum to learn.

The nex step is to continue reading books that related to BTC and crypto, which are the major things we are discussing in this forum, and it will make you to flow with people in this place.

Welcome to the forum, but I don’t know why you are just interested in bitcoin and the forum after leaving your job. If you want to invest in bitcoin or be a trader, then you need money for that. I hope you already have enough savings from the job you were doing before leaving your job so that you will be able to invest in bitcoin? And you should know that after investing in bitcoin, it should be for the long term, so you still need a job where you will be earning for survival. If you don’t get a job, then you will end up selling your investment just for survival.

Seriously, if you can acquire more knowledge about bitcoin here, then get yourself a job and invest some of your earnings in bitcoin, it will have been really better, but I don’t really support the idea of not having a job while you are trying to invest.

You created the topic on the right board so there is no need to move it. Interest in learning about Bitcoin will take you far in the future. But since you are new to this forum, read the forum rules first. Then actively participate in the discussion of different boards of the forum. This way after some time your knowledge will be enriched and you will grow up in the forum.

What was the reason why you left your job? because you want to go full-time and learn Bitcoin wholly? It isn't recommended if that's what you're planning to do. I have seen people think that they can go full-time and have to leave their jobs because of how optimistic they are. I have nothing against those people or those who have plans like that now. It is that the market is too volatile and you might not take it. So, I highly advise while you're learning with all of the links and references given to you hear to still find another job.
He didn't state the reason he left his job, so we shouldn't just think one sided. There are alot of reasons people quit their job for another.
Yes, on the OP he didn't stated it but then he replied on me and answered me, this was his answer.

I quite the Job because the manager of the company, don't allow workers to have access to their phone through out the day, but you can have access to your phone during the closing hours, and the issues is affecting me not to get in touch with my family and other things which was the reason I stopped the job to learn other things that will add more value to my life, but am still looking for a better job that will allow me to have access to do other things, and since I stopped the work I have learned so many things about bitcoin, which I have see many opportunity when you buy bitcoin in a low price during the bear season and hold.

I don't like any job that I have to appear without phones. Even if I will actually not use the phone during work hours, but being ordered to not appear with my phone looks cruel.
It shouldn't be used during working hours but you should be allowed once the job is done or you're out of your working hours or mostly, during break time. Anyway, it seems that you have read his answer on me on why he has left his job and that looks confusing when you've said that he didn't stated it.

maybe it's like working in a factory. but don't know if he doesn't have enough rest time to check his phone. but in some factory environments, it might be very strict for their employees.

maybe Op left his job because the pressure of the job was not what he wanted. Some people may be so stressed by work pressure that their time for family runs out.

I don't know whether Op's intention is to come to the forum to also look for work. but if it's just to learn Bitcoin, there's no need to quit your job.

Well, if there's micromanaging and they're not allowing you to do so in your free time to have some time contacting your family then you should really leave there. But if they're doing that for their corporate and duty hours, it's understandable and they have the right to not allow their employees to access their phones at those times. Because that time should be rendered for them. But soon, you'll find the job that you really need and gives you the benefits that you'd like.

and since I stopped the work I have learned so many things about bitcoin, which I have see many opportunity when you buy bitcoin in a low price during the bear season and hold.
Keep it up, you're already starting and the next thing that you'll have to do is to buy and hold it. And the rest will be history.

First I would like to welcome you to the Forum, even though you have heard about the Bitcointalk forum for a long time but only registered recently, your arrival is always greeted in a very friendly way by the seniors.
There is no reason that if you adhere to a ban that does not allow any employee in the company where you work to have access to a telephone for any reason, you can visit forums outside of working hours or when you are at home. Don't make any excuse that can prevent you from doing something new in your life, you have a choice and can set a time to visit the forum.
Now start reading the forum rules and some of the links that have been given to you in previous posts, do it slowly and consistently, you can definitely increase your knowledge. Always ask what you want to ask if the question is related to Bitcoin or other things related to the purpose of the forum, other users will try to give you answers.

You’re welcome to the forum and you’re in the right place to learn about bitcoin and cryptocurrency in general. There are quite a lot of things you’ll get to understand overtime as you navigate through the forum. I don’t know why you left your former work but I hope it’s not because you thought of a more greener pasture here? If you have a job and still show up here to learn about bitcoin will be the best thing for you to do. I hope you get a new job soon that won’t limit you from engaging here because here is a place you’ll love to be for a very long time. There is a lot of benefits staying here, but don’t be too comfortable here and not search for other things to do out of the forum, if you do it’ll be better for you. You’re welcome and I wish you a successful journey here learning about bitcoin.

OP hold on a bit, this story of you not having access to your phone or not being able to make use of your phone due to security reasons in your place of work is some how confusing brother. You have interest for the Forum after being told how it is, I mean here on Bitcointalk.org and you would like to learn or engage in Bitcoin trading, investment or whatever you want but you can't make use of your phone at work, is it only at work that you feel you can make use of your phone? What about your home? At least there you'd feel free without anybody giving you unnecessary query. I'm just saying because it seems the story line isn't in line, if you think your work place is the right place to access your phone the you can't obey the rules of the Forum since you can't keep the laws of your work place.

You're in the right place and you'd get a lot of advise base on what you want to do, I'd say feel free to ask any questions especially whenever your making a post or starting up a thread, or better still read through some links provided for you to know more about the Forum, also make research and drop a link where you got your information from before posting.
You're welcome to the Forum!!!

Of all your story, am afraid if you're not seeing bitcointalk as a means of making money, looking at the way that you have to now focuses on bitcoin after the fact that you left your job, it will be as good for you if you have some savings already with you to invest, hold and also remain active on the forum in other to continue learning, while on this forum, you will have to read about the forum rules and regulations, avoid plagiarism in making posts and always make reference as appropriately needed.

To avoid appearing arrogant when other newbies see you responding, read the forum rules and other useful topics that have been posted.

What are the next steps as a newbie?
My experience here is that those of us who are here started out as beginners, that's for sure, but as time goes by there are many steps we need to learn about this forum, maybe you should too, This forum can give you positive and negative values, this can all happen depending on how you learn the steps so that you can be successful or not.

There are many things you can learn here, especially about Bitcoin and especially crypto or digital currency, maybe some of the members here have shown several sources that you can learn from for the next step, for that and that there are definitely challenges and obstacles, It's not as smooth as your friends or others say, in fact with this challenge you can judge what is the best and worst thing for you to do next, don't give up easily, do something with what you have.

I have see many opportunity when you buy bitcoin in a low price during the bear season and hold.
But you quit your job in a bull market, not bear market. 2024 is not a year of bearish market but bullish market indeed. If you want to see bear market, you will need to wait for 2025, 2026, next two years.

If you think of buying and holding, consider DCA strategy next two years.

El Salvador and MicroStrategy use DCA strategy for their investment in Bitcoin and succeed, see their Investment ROIs.

In fact, if you want to learn Bitcoin and cryptocurrency, you don't need to leave work. You even have enough free time to read information on forums during your breaks or holidays.
I think you quit your job because of your discomfort with the pressure. Now that you are in the forum, maybe you have read some information regarding rules and also general knowledge regarding Bitcoin. Maybe you have found other interests such as Bitcoin investment or trading. or you can get other interests, keep looking for information in the forum.

Welcome to the forum.

As a start, read this: Newbies - Read before posting

After that, you should keep reading the pinned posts in each section you visit because they contain the necessary information about the section and the forum as well. Make sure you read more and post less as a newbie when you are not yet knowledgeable enough because that wouldn't look good. Post only when you need to. After some time, you will get to know almost everything around the forum, and if you are an attentive reader and have a good understanding, you will understand everything about the industry as well.

I wish you good luck.

It is that the market is too volatile and you might not take it. So, I highly advise while you're learning with all of the links and references given to you hear to still find another job.

~~ snip~~

Although you said you quit your job for personal reasons, I pray it is not because you want to focus on and learn about bitcoin. Even if you succeed, what will happen if you have learned and understood about bitcoin? Where are you getting the money to invest in bitcoin? Because you don’t have a job, you need to think deeply before taking any steps just to avoid regret.

All I will say is that you are welcome, and I know many have different views of things, but what I will like you to know is that you should always focus on whatever you are doing, you will definitely see a positive outcome. Don’t engage in criminal activity in this forum because you will be caught in the sense that many clever people are also here. I said this is from your first post, it looks like a fiction story that you just created to have the interest of others.

You didn't really need to create this topic because you can easily find details about the forum if you pay close attention to details. However, you are welcome to the forum. If you desire to learn about Bitcoin, you are on the right forum because this platform contains almost every information about Bitcoin. If you keep visiting and reading materials on the forum, you will be knowledgeable about Bitcoin within a short time depending on your dedication. Learning about the forum will also take some time because the all rules are not in a single document. You have to take some time to read several threads and observe how things are done in the forum.

I hope you will get another job because this platform is just a forum and shouldn't be seen as a job.

I am also a newbie, though my account was opened about six months ago, but due to busy schedule I could not spend much time here. But again I'm back again, so you can say I'm a newbie too. Right now what I am doing as a newbie is, I am trying to understand everything well, about the forum, about all the rules and regulations of the forum, about Bitcoin, and about the cryptocurrency market. Also there are many more things which are very necessary to know, I am slowly discovering them and trying to understand them well. According to me all the newbies should do these to increase their knowledge.

You are welcome to the Bitcointalk forum
Before we talk about the next step you should take, first ask yourself why you are here in the first place. If you have a direction, you will take this forum seriously and not be like those other newbies who created accounts and ran away. Now you are here, do not be in a hurry to start creating threads and replying posts you know nothing about. First browse through the forum, read the pinned posts because they contain very vital information the moderators want you to read. You do not need to create a topic everytime you need clarity on something. The forum has a search option where you search for the topic and you'll find the answers you need.

The forum is a regulated one, it has rules and punishments too for deserving offenders. Try as much as possible to avoid plagiarism, be original and you will grow.
