That is enough info to make a good judgment on what exchanges to hop onto next.

you can choose Bilaxy, Oceanx, Coinall, Indodax .. these are small exchanges in this market, but they have liquidity and your project can easily be listed there if it meets the requirements  with them

Bithumb is catching up fast to the level of top exchanges like huobi and Kucoin, it's a very highly recommendable exchange for new project, don't bother looking, this is the best exchange that isn't too costly like binance
I found again there are so many bullshit projects listed on this exchange, obviously the quality of Bithumb exchange is much inferior to leading exchanges like Binance, Huobi ... I've seen a few altcoin from bounty and its price have dropped many times when listed there

There are actually a number of good small-medium exchanges for listing new projects. I recommend including Probit, Latoken, Coinsbit,
Upbit, Bitmart, Hotbit and Hitbtc. All the exchanges that I have mentioned are feasible to use, even though the opportunity for scams
is still present. Therefore be careful in choosing new projects, even though they have been listed on popular and trusted exchanges.
Keep doing researchand analysis as detailed as possible, before deciding to invest in new projects.

BW.com, Kucoin, Upbit, Probit ... These are moderate exchanges in this market and you can easily implement IEO there. As long as your project is real and serious in development, I believe you can fully implement IEO there.

kucoin is not a small exchange afaik  but it was one of the huge exchange on the market today , its level are binance  and okex  .

implementing ieo on a top exchange can be tough compare to smaller exchange  .  did they choose a small exchange only for testing  ? but its okay to start on small and once they are familiar with the stuff's , they can create the final version of thier project and list it on a much better exchange  to gain real profits this time   .
Kucoin is just a mid-range exchange in this market, It is not comparable with Binance, Okex, Huobi .. The liquidity of kucoin is much lower than other exchanges and there are not too many people are using that exchange

I will approach some small-medium sized exchanges when I get the projects ready to be launched to perhaps make a better deal with them if we choose to go the IEO way.

What I do not like about IEO's is that it might hold back some investors from investing since they have to sign up on this small-medium exchange.

I am looking for around 10 investors to fund my project.

What do you guys think about running an ICO where we will have 3 rounds. With each successful round, we get listed on a pre-determined exchange.

First 2 rounds will guarantee 2 small exchanges and the third round a medium sized exchange.

We only want to get onto a legit, secure exchange with real trading volume and with great people working on the exchange (good work ethics and history, also very responsive).

how can you make another round of the ICO if the tokens is already tradeable in the exchange  are you planning to sell it in much lower price than the exchange price when you run the second round of the ICO ?

Listing it in legit exchange is very big help to your project since many project now is only listed in unpopular  exchange.

I am talking about the best starter exchanges for a new project with a limited amount of funding available.

I am looking for a list of Top 5 best exchanges for real projects, starting from the smallest (cheapest), but with decent user base and volume.
Can you name any?

if you're looking for a good midrange exchange..  then I'll recommend whitebit, mercatox, bilaxy exchange..these are the only midrange exchanges with a good number of daily trades.. and have good reputation in the crypto space

I'm sure OP knew about wash trading and fake volume? Many small exchanges use these to manipulates, watch out

1. Idex
2. Coinone
3. Upbit
4. Bibox
5. Exmo

DYOR, even new exchanges or small exchanges turn scam at any time, if your project is good enough some exchanges will even list for free
If your project is good then I believe a lot of exchanges will deal and list it for free. And I totally agree with you on this list, be careful and stay away from them because they will ruin the project

Consider listing on exchanges like mercatox crex24, catex and idex for a start. Don't list in multiple exchanges build volume in one exchange before going for another exchange with time. You can have just one trading pair USDT or Btc for a start and gradually increase the pairs good luck.

Become so good that exchange find your project and get it listed without you contacting them. I find that IDEX is a good exchange but I wouldn't call it small and it is more well known than my other exchanges out there. You don't want to list it on too small exchange or you risk not getting any attention.

It is quite difficult to name small trustworthy Exchanges, but I would mention IDEX, Bibox and BitMax. The first one should be the easiest for listing as it is DEX.

The medium-sized exchanges that come to my mind right now are the following:

1. Bilaxy
2. Gate.io
3. Exrates
4. DragonEX
5. P2PB2B

I would have recommended Yobit and Livecoin as well, but I understand that these exchanges doesn't have a good reputation here. I have used them and I could have suggested, but then it may be safer to skip them for now.
Good advice is right here OP! Take a look at these exchanges. However, one question that comes to my mind when I read the title: Why don't you try to list your project in larger Exchanges? Medium-sized Exchanges don't really have good liquidity and high trading volume to get started! Anyway, wish that your project will be successful!

For great projects the best start is probably Binance. If your project has really have potential and great then listing here could be easy. Show them your tech, pay some fee for the listing and thats it. I know its not that fheap to get listed there but people who trade there are huge and can nake a difference on your project. So there is no point being listed on some minor exchange, it could also just pull back its price due to low liquidity.

important thing for developers team about exchanges was, dont list their token into latoken or vindax. both of them really have no quality and liquidity. when token traded on these exchanges, slowly but sure it will die project . there is no liquidity there and make investors distrust to project.
There were also a lot of scam exchange sites that must be included into the banned list too. latoken and vindax is a part of this scam exchange site. coinsbit, p2p, chainx, and many more should be included in the ignore list. Exchange site like kucoin or bithumb are good enough to be used for the first listing.

Maybe I can recommend it in bithumb and kucoin, because as from the experience I've experienced quite a lot of new coins that have large volumes. especially in Bithumb, most of these markets always list local tokens (originating from Korea) and are often successful when listing in a market with a sizable volume. for example like IPX coins which until now have a trading volume of 0.25 million.

Probit exchange is the cheapest among the fair exchanges in crypto space, can't spend up to 0.2 BTC to get listed on that exchange, I think hoo exchange is the new promising exchange, you can try that out
But that exchange has no volume and very few users. I am following some of the bounty listed there, not any trader buying and selling. There is only bot trading and it causes the price to collapse many times

I think if the project is real, they will consider avoiding small-medium exchange to list their token, and they will try to list in the big exchange such as binance, binance dex, poloniex, and else. That will give them prestige among the investor because they can prove to the investor that they are very serious about the project and don't want to disappoint their investor. Besides that, they will have a chance to compete with the other project to gain profit from the traders.
Not all real projects can also be accepted by large exchanges, not because of listing fee issues but the mission of the project.
Then inevitably the project must go into small exchanges.
Maybe the fee will be the problem for the real projects which don't have much money. I think the project's mission is not to be a problem because that will not relate to the exchanges. If the real projects list on the small exchanges, that can make the project wait for a long time before the project can grow because we know that in the small exchanges, the daily volume is not too big, and they will have to be patient for some time.

I wish to start with the title because that's what got my attention, every project coming to the crypto space is always termed a great project by the team but in all, it's left for the community to decide and this centers around what the project stands for and how the team are going about making it great as they claimed. Nevertheless, you didn't mention if it's for IEO or not; if it's for IEO then exchanges like Probit, Bithumb and Gate would be a good one considering limited funds. If it's for straight listing then exchanges like Probit, Bithumb, Gate, Hotbit and Idex would be good as well.

You can contact small exchanges like Chainx, Probit, Emirex ... They are small exchanges in this market but I see they have a lot of users. Try IEO there and your project could be successful if it caught the attention of the participants.
Those are scam exchange sites and the new token will be a scam tokens to after listed on those sites. We have heard the reputation of those exchange sites from the various parties and mostly said all of them were scam exchange sites.

from some of the exchange places that you mentioned I think emirex and probit could be the right choice because I see that the exchange has a high trading volume and might be able to make a profit because it will have fast price movements.
ChainX - Scam
Probit - does have a fairly high trading volume but that is only for large coins, if the token is not much volume is usually a lot.
Emirex - I do not know much about this exchange but this is a very new exchange, if I am not mistaken, their tokens are still available for sale in IEO

A really great project can get into exchanges for free cost by voting itself. I do see many exchanges are still following the practice of listing through community voting. So, if a project is good then I guess there would not be a big requirement of fees to get listed into top exchanges. But, unfortunately many good coins are failing to convince investors and this community which usually ending up detailing of that coins from pursuing big success.

First a great project must need to convince this community then I believe this community definitely will help that coin to get listed on famous exchanges for free of cost as well. After coming across the OP's post, I am just curious on knowing that great coin. Yes, if it will be really great then I may plan up for investing with it.

I've heard of fees from exchange
(HotBit-1btc, Hitbtc -1btc, Cat.ex-0.2btc, Coinlim-0.2btc)
but I also don't know exactly whether it's true or not, if for a limited fee you should do a private sale first. later when sufficient funds please do IEO on some medium exchange without fake volume such as Hotbit, Probit etc. look in coinmarketcap or coingecko

Actually I always believe that starting or listing on medium exchanges for a new project is also good as it will save the project funds while also helping them to start on a good and palatable ground. However, about medium exchanges which have good user base are Gate, Kucoin, Probit, Biki and Bithumb. I stated them in the order which I think it's the best in my own opinion. Also, no matter the exchange, it is also important that the idea of the project in question is a good and attractive one.

I think Stellar and Tron are the best coins that are still low prices. If we look at daily volume reaching $ 500 million / 24 hours. Today's tron reaches $ 1,362,435,005. We are very easy to trade. Active coin price movements.

if your project token is based on erc20 you should start registering on dex, as long as I exchange dex does not require a fee to be able to register there (such as IDEX, uniswap, bamboorelay, saturn network and others)
well indeed there are many places of exchange currently circulating but when trading so I recommend trading at a place of exchange that is trusted and has a high trading volume so that when you trade will have a very fast price movement and can provide a lot of profit, so my advice might be to use Binance exchange platform and I think Binance has developed a BinanceDEX exchange place.

Don't try finding cheapest exchanges, their services are bad that's why they are so cheap, you don't want to get listed on exchanges like p2pb2b because it's one of the cheapest out there and the exchange has fake volumes, it's better to list of top exchanges or mediocre rated exchanges like bithumb or bigONE

Probit will certainly be a great choice for a new project. This is not a big exchange but I see it very popular in this market. You can try to be listed there to make the next move smoothly
That exchange does not have too much volume. Therefore, your project may not develop as expected. You should try to list at larger exchanges like Bitforex, Coinall, or Kucoin ...
Okex and Kucoin can make new projects have a good volume in the market, and it is ideal, in my opinion.
but if new projects enter an exchange such as Sistemkoin or Probit it will be difficult to find volume

In reality, There is no exchange that will offer a free listing unless it was done through voting then they might list free but still charge by monthly fees. It is true that sometimes exchange are reaching out good project to get listed on there exchange but they never offer free listing.

Do you think a big such as Tezos or Cardano is going to pay to get listed in a newly created exchange, like the ones mentioned here( Booboo, bitsmart , etc)? They would not even like to be listed in scammy exchanges, but they can't  prevent that from happening.

Know what?if you really believe that this project is "GReat" then why need to limit your budget for choosing exchange to be listed?

If you have a great project as what you are claiming then you can easily gain investors and can cover that expenses right?

i know that it is not the exchange that makes the Project profiting but this is a Plus factor because the more the exchange is popular the more the project looks legit(but it does not mean all project in big exchange are legit because there are still Scam and shits)

A real and good project do not seek for exchanges. Exchanges look for them.

If your project needs to pay to be listed, you are doing something wrong. Focus on development of your projects and exchanges will look for you.

Just take a look at all successful projects out there. Most didn't hype  , were available in few exchanges in the beginning and so on.

but don't some exchanges still charge fees for listing? Am I wrong?.
or all exchanges that are already fairly well-known and trusted do not charge fees when listing, and they themselves will look for a good project for listing on their exchange? Huh

That is the kind of list I want to know too. Not many traders operate in every exchange to have the perfect insight about it. Traders stick with the exchange they liked and rarely switch unless there something forces them. I think you should decide which exchange is the best base on your own criteria and experience. Remember that a good project would be list on any exchange and still be fine.

Have been into this industry couple of years now and have seen projects that have been beckoned upon to get their projects listed on good and reputable cryptocurrency exchange, so, why do you think a project without development will be attracted to these exchanges for listing. Get your team together and fight for the project development and good exchanges will come for your project to be associated with them. Focus on your project development for the now.

i think if some people have a project and want to list their coin, the best choose is of course top 10 of exchnage in coinmarketcap by volume.
because people will interest to buy if that coin list on the beiggest market like Binance.
that the selling point.

I think many exchanges sin with fake volumes.  And at the same time, everyone offers his own, but for some, trading was normal, and someone says that the exchange is bad.  There are many suggestions for your question and it’s better to trust your analysis.  I read all the answers and agree to trade on the Idex exchange, everything is in order.  I consider Binance to be the best exchange.

DEX is the best place to list the new token because they offer low cost listing fee and provide an organic exchange volume compared on typical shit exchange like hotbit, p2pb2b, coins it and more. Don't waste money on them. They will just provide you a temporary fake volume fluctuations.

For me IDEX/Forkdelta is the best exchange for new token that want an exchange. Smiley

I believe all the new exchanges are good for listing new coins/tokens with the minimal/reasonable fee. Also heard some famous exchanges are listing good projects through voting for free of cost. You may try them.
If we can admit that op project is a scam sheme, then his best option is to follow your advice by taking the risk to be listed in an unknown exchange which won't bother that much if it turns into a scam.
A good exchange should not list a coin just according to a vote pool. Simply because any fake project can vote for itself using alt accounts or just asking community to vote.

If we can admit that OP project is an honest legit one, then this should be a bad advice that i don't encourage OP to follow it:
You may easily find new exchanges from service announcement boards:
Service Announcements
Service Announcements (Altcoins)
However, this is a good advice:
I guess http://mercatox.com, hotbit.io are some exchanges where I have found my new tokens/coins got listed hence you may check with them. Also, you need to be careful against fake exchanges and scam exchanges.

I am talking about the best starter exchanges for a new project with a limited amount of funding available.

I am looking for a list of Top 5 best exchanges for real projects, starting from the smallest (cheapest), but with decent user base and volume.

Can you name any?
New exchanges are coming up regularly because old/existing exchanges are getting saturated in terms of maintenance or getting closed their business due to various other reasons. I believe all the new exchanges are good for listing new coins/tokens with the minimal/reasonable fee. Also heard some famous exchanges are listing good projects through voting for free of cost. You may try them.

Plus, there is one related service topic for helping devs to get listed their coins on one exchange: Coin listing service on Buycrypto.Today | 0.1 BTC Commission also offered.

Service Announcements (Altcoins)

So many exchange but I doubt you can find a free listing. The smallest exchanges I know are stex, cit exchange, probit, crex24, satoshi exchange, mercatox, graviex and even Idex.

Major exchanges would not list simple projects even though they have funds. For these mentioned markets even your project is lousy you can still able to list it but also payment is not that low. But if your project is an erc20 token, you can find a lot dex that dont need payment but dont expect liquidity and volume.

PredX - AI-Powered Prediction Market
To be honest, the Coinmarketcap and the coingecko platform has the best answers that you seek and want.

Check through the top 20 exchange platforms for your answer.

I suggest for you though, okex platform, as long as you are sure your project will be worth it
Okex is one of the leading exchanges in this market. It is not a small or medium exchange, so in order to be listed there your project must be good and have enough money to pay the listing fees. I would suggest other exchanges like Chainx.kr, Oceanx ...

Sovryn - Brings DeFi to Bitcoin
1. Hoo exchange
2. Bitcoin.com
3. Bilaxy exchange
4. Probit exchange
5. Bitmart
6. Booboo exchange

These are few ones that only requires some affordable listing fees but watch out for some Exchanges like p2pb2b, they have fake volumes and this makes their users very limited

It is really good you are looking into medium exchanges to start with but be it known to you that having good use case will also help every upcoming project to have a good foundation of growth. With that being said, I think the medium exchanges to start with is Kucoin and Gate. Now depending on the amount of funding available and maybe if its not up to that of the aforementioned exchanges then exchanges like Idex, BW, Probit, Bilaxy and Bithumb will also be good to look into.

Hoo exchange site, kucoin exchange site, hotbit exchange site, bithumb global, wazirx and bilaxy.

In my opinion if hoo must be on your first choice consider so many new coins got huge volume when it was traded on hoo exchange site. I think that should be the best choice for you.

I was thinking of real projects, not to pretend to become legit in just a way to be listed. Why not trying to get a line in the most trusted exchanges with huge market volume if we are looking for better results? Though we know how hard to be there and for the reason that we wanted to have good market promotion then, being with these exchanges will help it out.

If you are looking for the best starter exchanges, then have it listed to Binance or Kucoin. It surely your project will have a name and recognize by many investors. It for sure you can see a satisfying result that you wanted to happen. Not unless (trying to pretend become a legit project) that exposes the true scheme.

I would give this to IDEX. It has real volume and the exchange has liquidity, despite being a DEX. I do not think you need to pay any fund to get listed on IDEX, inasmuch as your project worth it. Therre are lots of projects that have been able to make good headway to other good decentralized exchanges,
Another thing about IDEX is that, community members can by themselves apply for listing on IDEX.
I think IDEX can be a very appropriate choice for launching new products because I think that an exchange place that has a good reputation and has enough trust is IDEX, whereas if you want to launch a new project that has a higher reputation than IDEX then can use the Binance exchange place.

I guess many people are endorsing IDEX here in the forum. It means, they have pretty good experience on this exchange. Try to look at this exchange if it suits your purpose for your token. You need to check for the liquidity also because if the trading will be slow, it would be hard for your token to take off.

Assuming the said digital asset is Ethereum based, My best bet will be Idex. Idex is not only one of the most genuine exchanges but one of the most natural exchanges when it comes to trade volumes. Idex has real traders and rarely do you find wash trading or bot trading on their exchange. What you see is what you get.
But IDEX is designed to be an Ethereum assets exchange. It means that only tokens built at top of Ethereum can be added to IDEX and they only can be exchanged to ether. Just like EtherDelta and ForkDelta. This should be the right option for op if the coin is an ERC20 token and don't yet having a considerable trading volume as the project is still under-developpement.

OP, as mentioned above, good projects will reach exchanges without even contacting them. If you really want to contact some of the major reputed exchange in the market then please don't hesitate to check the link in my signature which refer to BestChange platform, a platform dedicated for exchanges searchers to choose the best platform according to their exact need of pairs .

Biki has a commendable track record with its preference to Listing only genuine and physically evident projects one of the most stand out thing common to them. They don't promote pumps and dumps and they don't encourage shitty projects as well. Security is top notch and so is their transparency.

Actually most of the exchanges fall in exactly the same category as is your requirement so it is not a difficult task to short list them and many people have already suggested you names as well but i would suggest you to list on dexes especially the new platforms like uniswap or paraswap especially if your project uses an erc20 based token.

In my experience, there are a few medium sized exchanges that's doing pretty well and open to new coins for listing and has made easier the listing process. Check out these exchanges

I totally agree with bitmover. A nice project wouldn't look for those kinds of exchanges but if you really have a tight budget, I guess you should have planned the exchange from the beginning.
Good point, but I want to guarantee 1 exchange right away to my community (the plan is to get on 3 exchanges initially). I just can't sit and hope somebody will approach me in this hot market.
How about Tidex and Bisq?

CMC is hard to trust these days. In its top 20 there are many fake volume exchanges, and some exit scammed in 2019. CMC Is corrupted.

You are talking about mid-range crypto exchanges that are still fair enough and have no fake volume ? This will help you

1. Hotbit
2. Probit
3. Idex
4. Upbit
5. Mercatox
6. Bitmart
7. bigONE

These are the exchanges I trust, never heard anything about fake volumes like p2pb2b or vindax or exmarket
