Where is my ring of blades...
it is one of the strategies that is commonly used by different traders. you buy these pairs that you think have a good chance of a rise in the near future but you make sure to buy in the dip not if they are already high.
then wait for the rise you speculated about, to happen and then sell.

I was thinking of buying small amounts, setting sell orders around avg %^move of the peak.

I do the same but for the selling part I usually wait to see how strong the pump is. sometimes it is powerful enough to go much higher than I initially expected and sometimes it is much smaller so my sell order may not be filled.
at the same time you have to be careful not to be greedy to keep holding more than you really should. because with my strategy it is so easy to lose track and wait more and more and miss the peak.

They're DOGE, XCP, FTC, THC, DOPE, ERC, and EMC2
They seem to be following explosive cycles, Risk:Reward seems very favorable.
So you read that on an article and you believe that you can make profit of these shitcoins? I would not suggest any of them added the reason that there are articles promoting them to people. You see many shitcoins are often promoted by people who have big websites with good traffic to the crypto associated people just to provoke them to buy it. This doe not mean that they will be profitable, rather it may be a pump and dump scheme where you might enter the market when a dump is made and then the price never recovers from that dump.

You can try that but do so after doing proper research on what you are investing in. But thats just my opinion.

Earn a bit by the pair BCH/BTC recently. Wish there is more chance to earn money easy like that.

Assuming these are strictly BTC pairs, I'll comment on Dogecoin, since it's really the only one among your list that I have significant experience - and holdings. Its chief strengths: maturity, adoption and already low levels against Bitcoin which have not managed to break the 10 satoshi floor despite several ATHs.

There is still good value in trading Bitcoin against doge, with even 1 satoshi movements giving significant percentage profits. At sub 20 levels that's a clean 5% possible on small volume Bitcoin tradings.

Some arbitrage between exchanges are also apparent and doge is easy to move around, cheaply.

Once it does pump, as it seems to every January, it's even good for long term hedging I feel. I don't mind buying up small amounts every low period. Have accumulated quite a bit, while making profits along the way. As long as Bitcoin has a future, so does Doge, for the foreseeable time anyway.

Don’t know my mind says something different story about your portfolio. I mean why not choose many of the coins which are already on the verge of booming. Like NEO, Monero and Cash too.

From the list you provided I’m only sure about the DOGE and DeepCoin but others are too far away from getting the good market volume. The tipping coin is loved by many people and they think it will bloom like crazy but thats the case since many months and still there is no hope yet. Im loving the idea to buy some of these at very low rates in todays date but we will need to wait a lot for them.

EMC2 and Doge are the worst coins of that list
Ohh it is a pleasure to remember those days in when emc2 was still being tradeable at more than 3000 satoshis each one on poloniex, i used to made a lot of money from this coin in the past because it was one of the most volatile coins that poloniex had (in august of this year, if i am not wrong) One day it went from 2000 sat/each to 2800 in just a few hours, i made more than 0.10 with that operation.
but now it is an useless coin, nobody is talking about this one because it is almost dead right now, it is like a ghost.

EMC2 and Doge are the worst coins of that list, enstenium2 has been created only to use that money to contribute to the science, but they haven't do anything yet, their whole project is stopped right now and this is the reason of why its price is so freezed at the moment. And the same goes with doge..
They both are following a similiar pattern but it doesnt mean that the all are going to have the same ending, it is difficult because the price depends on a lot of things, not just in the charts. It depends on people and on the volume that it has.

All these currencies may not have such a great potential to be honest, doge might be an exception in that last though.  EMC should be pumped anytime soon, so you can invest in it more than your normal one, but you better be careful on the timing. THC, it was pumped because of the partnership with Wiz Khalifa, not sure on whether it's worth the investment now as it and already got pumped by whales. Other altcoins, I can't provide much info on it, as I choose altcoins based on my own research and other various factors.

One classic approach is to take any one sector and go along the best stock in that sector and go short the worst stock. If the sector goes up or down you should make money on the spread.
