Klondike and possibly the Bonanza... we shall see what the 55nm Avalon can do. Stoked! Grin

Right now it's more like OK Corral, but no one is firing yet Smiley

(hum, save for AM)

I will invest in the open source ones for sure, so Klondike, done, waiting on Bitfury.

BFL have buried themselves so deep, it'll be a small miracle they survive, waiting for volume deliveries.
KNCMINER strike me as liars, or very unprofessional to the least, so I'll wait to see how they function past the preorders' circus
AM will wait for the shares to come down in price (might never happen...), blades are priced too high for now (not even considering the USB one).
Bitmine is a maybe but they depend on Avalon and haven't showed additional worth yet (wrt Klondike, for ex.)

Wait till you can get ASIC at WalMart on black friday..  then you'll finally be happy

Hoping you're talking about Black Friday *this year*. I'll take two of each in a gift wrap. Thank you, and keep the dust. Smiley

Similar to others: diversification

AM, Avalon, BFL - with more resources buy from the one who puts out the best product readily available to the consumer.

I am currently mining with BFL FPGAs, asicminer USBs, and a GPU farm. I have BFL asic singles on pre-order.
Mining and holding has already been profitable enough for me to quit my stupid job, and when my BFL singles finally arrive, I'm gonna party like a rock star.

BFL, Avalon, AsicMiner both hardware and as an investment.  Will certainly entertain purchases from other companies when they actually start shipping product.  Bitcoin difficulty is spiking so any sort of investment today that gets delayed can run the risk of being a loss if not careful.  Also, competition should force manufacturers to lower prices.

That said, it may be easier to stop mining and sell products for Bitcoin or possibly other cryptocurrencies.  Selling a service or product could reward with more bitcoins/cash than mining with much less risk.  It all depends on the value and difficulty of bitcoin going forward.  With the value going down and the difficulty going up, mining is looking less attractive every day.

I'm going to put my bet on KNC miner. They might outrun BFL and Avalons Grin Somehow I have the feeling that there will be huge delay in those avalon chips...
And Batch 3 won't be out before september (august at best)... So... There is a change that KNC might outrun. If they do deliver as promised september 2013 and not some pathetic 2-3 devices, but in bulk for everyone, they will be heros here. If they don't, they will be hated just as BFL or Avalon. So far, smartest one is AsicMiner

cool i am also counting them

I have orders wi Avalon, BFL, Bitaxe.ca, KNC and Bitfury. Diversification FTW

Avalon, KNC, Bitaxe, ASICMINER seem like good candidates.  BFL seems only good for a Jalepeno at this time?

Personally, I'm sick and tired of constantly checking for updates on or about whatever half-baked ASIC product. I have a life outside Bitcoin.

So far we have nothing 'cept an over priced 10ghz unit.

Diversification:
- a BFL Jalapeno (ok who didn't preorder it?)
- some Lancelot FPGAs
- a Bitmine.ch Avalon Clone
- a KNC Saturn
- Asicminer shares (the miners themselves are too expensive)

I dono why all of you guys talking about ASIC when there is no ASIC to buy with instant delivery !!!

Only 10GH of Blade which is too expensive and small hash power.

Some people actually know how to look toward, and plan for, the future, rather than living hand-to-mouth...  Roll Eyes

Oh I didn't noticed that you are too big man and have huge plan for your life Cheesy

purchasing AIR like BFL is the future plan or what? Cheesy

Bitcoin mining is a VERY small part of my future. However, some people have made a career of it, and are doing quite nicely. One fella is currently shopping for a new Lamborghini to buy with his earnings. Failure to plan is a plan for failure.

Keep living hand to mouth, if that's what works for you.

'Why would you go look for a job, when you've still got $200 in the bank?'

I'll make sure to keep paying lots of taxes, so I can support you and your family...  Wink

Axtually, there is no tangible option to buy an asic. They either costs too much, they never arrive or they exist only on blueprint.

I haven't backed any ASIC yet.
Which sucks because you need to get in early, otherwise your fucked.

Can anyone tell me what Avalon preorder to go with? There are so many that I can't keep up.
And also I would like a something that works out of the box. I don't want to send chips to assembly etc..
I want a working miner ASAP.

You can get your feet wet with the KNC Jupiter Group Buy @ 0.50 BTC for each share:

Picking one horse is a fool's errand. Diversification is key. I have chips ordered with Avalon, a Jalapeno from BFL, and I'm very intently watching Bitfury to see what comes of their endeavors. Bitfury is looking VERY promising this past couple of days. And of course there KNC Miner, whom the jury is still out on.

I'll put a small amount toward any company that can prove to have a working product. I'm not jumping in with both feet until a clear leader emerges.  Wink

I thought it would be interesting for everyone to post which company they are planning on/have ordered ASICs from and why.

Terrahash does not seem to be accepting preorders/orders yet, but you can get on their mailing list at their website.  KNCminer is accepting orders/preorders and apparently they've unwittingly set up some spurious off-exchange trading for the unregulated speculative derivatives "KNC preorder numbers" now recklessly being traded on bitcointalk.  That's a real joker (tearjerker?) for newbies because KNC preorder numbers are free for the taking on the real McCoy site (kncminer.com), all of which are promises (assign your level of credibility here) for September delivery.

It's a wild wild West out there.  You might want to google these terms:

Avalon
Terrahash
AsicMiner
Butterfly
BTCGarden.com
KNCMiner
Steamboat

Thoroughly research this stuff and you'll probably be in a much better position to place your bets on the upcoming ASIC revolution.  The wildcard, of course, is the exponentially growing difficulty factor for BTC.  Another monkey wrench is whether the new hardware effectively sorts through scrypt, SHA-256 or something else.

None, don't feel comfortable buying anything right now.. BTC value is too shaky to invest in mining right now imo. It's only good for people who are loaded with BTC from previous mining, fresh investment doesn't look like great option at the moment.

I'd rather trade coins and try to rise my collection on that way. Just like I wouldn't buy coins at this moment, I wouldn't buy mining equipment too at these prices.

So, there are many many options to buy ASICs now (hooray)!  Grin

Almost too many.. it has become hard to decide what to buy!  Embarrassed

I thought it would be interesting for everyone to post which company they are planning on/have ordered ASICs from and why.

I'll start it off by saying I've ordered some Avalon bulk chips and have no idea where I'm getting them assembled yet, but I am leaning towards Terrahash. I am also looking to buy an ASIC built on a smaller process node (BFL/kncminer/bitfury/etc), but I haven't decided which company to go with yet. I am leaning towards kncminer/bitfury because of their attractive prices.

What have you ordered or are planning on ordering and why?
