Don't you use Adblock? This 'intrusive ad banner' can easily be removed to never show up, with just 2 clicks, as you can manually blacklist ads on blockchain.info.

yeah, but it is still annoying, i also use other devices and not all of them have ad block.
also it is good to know about alternatives. i know many of them already but i mostly wanted to know which one do others prefer or something that i may have missed.

for instance something i don't see anyone mentioning is smartbit

There are many alternatives and i have tried to list some of them, hope this helps ;

1 http://blockr.io/
2 https://www.blocktrail.com/BTC (They are acting quite weird, blocking several IPs including mine recently)
3. https://blockexplorer.com/ (one of the best, without ads)
4 https://btc.com/
5 https://bitcoinchain.com/block_explorer

The blocking part is done by almost all services, sometimes people get banned without doing anything because some other people were ddosing or bypassing the limit of requests on API etc while they were using VPNs/ Tor etc... so those who did nothingcame across the same IP again without even knowing.

now that blockchain.info has an intrusive advertisement right in the middle of the page where you check the address i would like to switch to another one.

I gotta say that blockchain.info block explorer is still my favorite, mainly because it's fast and I am used to it.

I tried to use https://chain.so but I still think blockchain is better.

Whatever happened to blockr.io?  Last times I tried it (30 seconds ago, and several days ago) it is giving bad price info.
It's most likely because something is wrong with the BTC-E API. It has been like this for nearly 2 weeks now.

Just hover your mouse over BTC-E and you'll be able to choose Coinbases's ticker price ~ that one works without any problems.

CryptoTalk.Org - Get Paid for every Post!
Most of the time i use blockchain.info explorer as i am also using their web wallet as my bitcoin wallet. But when there is some downtime, i prefer https://btc.com/ which is quite clean and don't have any ads at all. OP you can try them...

Dump it!!!
I personally use Blockcypher for its nice easy to use user interface

then other alternatives you could consider using chain.so , WalletExplorer , chainz cryptoid and blockr and the beauty about most of these you can also broadcast / push stuck transactions if ever you face the holdback

Thanks for opening this thread, BrewMaster.  Alternatives to blockchain.info are needed, and might even encourage blockchain.info to make their block explorer a better product.

Blocktrail is a really good block explorer.  Smooth, and no ads as far as I know.

Blockcypher is also a good choice.

Personally though, I have nothing against blockchain.info's block explorer.  It's still pretty smooth and I don't mind one little ad when I'm looking through some data.

you are right, it is more like being "used to blockchain.info" than it actually being good.
they have a lot of problems, like going down often or not showing some transactions, ...

i think i finally make something using their API and get rid of using a web browser once and for all Grin

I believe that people are simply used to it and don't want to switch to something else. I personally use Blocktrail.com (BTC.com) as my main explorer, It has the best design out there.
