Till this day one can hardly tell if Nigeria in the aspect of electricity is really improving or getting worse.
Knowing how important electricity is to the humans. And how it serves almost all that’s is being produced in the country.
Could it be the power (electricity) being supplied isn’t capable of serving the whole country?
Yet the country isn’t getting the proper and desirable electricity to go about their daily lives.
What can be said about this?

David’s day coming out to talk about his investment in to the electricity industry and how he tends to meet the demands of energy in the country.
Hope this wouldn’t be a means of making money from the country and yet not meeting their needs?
Nigeria isn’t the country to be proud of when it comes to electricity.

One major problem I believe Nigeria is having is bad government Because Nigeria has all it takes for the country to have uninterrupted power supply light is one thing that people shouldn't suffer for in a country because electricity is been in almost everything we do in the country but the reason why there is power failure in the country is that most prominent men politician and other big men in the country deals on power generating equipment like generator, sound prove etc so any reason why there is steady power supply there businesses is definitely going to break down. Meanwhile it is only in some few places in the country were they have steady power supply those community that were lucky to oil companies around them.

Nothing can be said it done about the poor electricity supply because those in power aren't willing to do anything. I keep telling people that the leaders in Nigeria have the ability to turn everything around but are not doing so because they benefit from it. Imagine being a major supplier of electricity to a nation like Ghana but they became better and are enjoying constant power supply but you being the supplier experience shortages. Is that not baffling?
Each country suffers corruption but it's as if Nigeria enjoys wallowing in it.

I will say the major problem we are having is the power distributing companies, some times the light we have no issue they we just sezze the light for no reason, holding it for days or for even weeks for there own selfish reason. Therefore checking and monitoring of the affairs and activities of these power distributing companies by the government we go a long way in improving the electricity system in the state. Thank you
who are those working at the power distribution company? Is it not the regular person like you and I? It's clear that we are our own problem and untill we become ready to fix ourselves and take responsibility of our problems, we will continue to face worse of case in power and other segment of our society.

Our can we even begin to explain that a country that is richly blessed with oil and gass to the extent of using it to power other countries can't boost of power supply in her country? Both the power holding company and the government are the collective source of our problem and they've succeeded in making the citizens powerless when it comes to having any say in the power distribution that's in the country. Constant increment in power tariffs and yet we can't boost of 12 hours power supply. It is well.

The issues of electricity in this our country has been coming worst honestly there's not any improvement concern the electricity issues rather it has been worst, imagine we're the one generate light to the others country but them there enjoy light the all Nigerian we the one suffering the light. And in every country now is with electricity that a loft of peoples where survive, because is through the industrial company that those that have money established people's are managing their life to survives and if there's  not light it will be so difficult for them to operate the engine in the industry; and is not like before that all the company's have big generators but with the way situation of country going on currently now with high price of petroleum: and not all the company can afford the price.

Nigeria isn’t the country to be proud of when it comes to electricity.

Nigeria is the only country that supplies electric power to another country but does not have steady power supply. Whereas, Ghana that Nigeria supplies power have uninterrupted electric power supply in their country . This is disheartening, because Nigeria government does not want the citizens to have what it takes to live an easy life. Electricity is now a basic need in this generation just like how the internet is also a basic need, and the government fails to understand this, but rather allow the people of Nigeria to wallow in darkness, making the lives of the poor ones to be more miserable.

And again just clocked that each time there’s power outage, there are some set of people who are benefiting from it. Now I see why Nigeria can never come out of this mess of not having stability in power supply

Nigeria government has the resources to make electricity available for everyone in the country but they prefer powering other countries while their own country suffer for lack of electricity because when you go out to interview people on how often they have a power supply you will even get surprised seeing that some other countries depends on the Nigeria government for electricity when they have not done anything on there home, however I wonder how it would have been if not for private sectors and companies who has made power supply available for some of the area they are working on but hopefully we believe there would be changed someday.

In as much as I know that most people will blame the poor electricity supply on the private sectors and investors managing it let's also know that the Nigerian government is so corrupt which means that before such national properties are sold the buyers and investors would have been given some conditions that will mostly benefit the ruling elite and not the common citizens.they might have been told to always pay some amount of money to some private individuals and may be given lots of tax to pay which makes them to reduce the amount of service they render so they can also make gains too.
I also think it's high time the government looks to Nuclear energy to help in generating electricity as most civilized countries are doing.

Nigeria isn’t the country to be proud of when it comes to electricity.

The Nigerian situation when it comes to electricity has been a dicey one ever since the federal Government handed over power plants and generating plans including energy distribution to private companies to help them manage. Assets of that kind of magnitude should not be run by private company in a country like Nigeria where things are done without a lot of due process. ever since NEPA which was government owned handed over to PHED, it has gone from bad to worse, as the private companies are only interested in making money without the satisfaction of the consumers.

One of the major problems I found out about the power situation in Nigeria is the fact that some of the power plants that is being run by the private companies are old and rusty, is more like the private companies are not helping to build new power plants for efficient distribution of electricity, however they are just managing a bad situation.

As for David, already heard his father is building a power plant worth close to 2.1 billion dollars, that magnitude of plants should help to improve the existing ones.

Shamefully this is the sad reality on ground in Nigeria, a country with great minds but lacks a basic amenity like constant  electricity supply. The average Nigerian family has an electric generator which runs on fuel, emitting black smokes and very noisy, it's very frustrating. The government has failed woefully, every regime keeps giving the people fake promises, in the end nothing is done. The country is a dump for alternative sources of electricity generation like solar and fuel generators which are very expensive. I hope that the latest moneybag that is giving us promises will live up to expectations. This is not the first time that we're hearing about promises of steady electricity supply.

Currently the course of the nation wide blackouts is as result of the national grid being collapsed.
It is a disappointment learning this grid collapse is becoming a common thing that the government is not even after fixing the problem to stable the electricity supplies.

How can such power failure become a norm that the grid could have fallen up to 3 times in just one week and over 8 times in the past months since 2024.
Read on source https://www.thecable.ng/just-in-national-grid-collapses-again-third-time-in-a-week.

It is obvious that Nigeria governments does not care about the welfare of its subjects but monetizing every single supposingly to be benefit able opportunities for the public because it is unimaginable how the same country as Nigeria could extend giving electricity to othe neighboring countries with an uninterruptible power supplies just become they are earning from it while the citizens in it own nation (Nigeria) suffers in blackouts of electricity failures time after times and the governments keep playing adamant to it rectification.

Adedeji Adeleke's power plant company is not a charity organisation. He and his Chinese partners have invested close to $2 billion. They will aim to recover their funds and also make a profit. The main problem of Nigerian electricity supply is not power generation but distribution. In recent times we have had many national grid collapses which has caused national blackout. For me, the solution to this problem is when state and even local governments partner with private investors to generate and distribute power. The quasi-centralization of the power sector has led to monopoly which is not helping matters.

No one said he shouldn’t make money from what he has invested so much in. But what is conveying consider is will it meet the demands of the people. It is really frustrating that after paying for electricity and yet you can’t make use of it. Good he is trying to solve the problem of electricity. Let it be that this can meet up with the demand of the people when it comes to electricity. The fee aside
Its not just about meeting the demands of people in supplying electricity to the different states - is it affordable? Because what's the point of building an electricity grid when the average Nigerian cannot afford it? Is it only the rich class that will survive in the country now? It's okay for him to get profit from it if he's not a charity organization, but he should at least address the foundational problem, which is supplying electricity to different classes.

A poor man should be able to pay for it with their capacity and have a good amount of electricity. So also an average person or a rich person. To me, what's the point of having an innovation that will not cater to the needs of people? What's the point if the poor person that is really suffering from electricity blackout, and the average person with family can't access it because the rich have solar installations, despite how expensive it is. Big plant generator, they have it, so if you still bring an electricity innovation  that favours the rich, what's the point?

So aside from demand, my issue is affordability. Is it affordable? But all we are hoping for is the best, that both the government and private sectors that are working towards the electricity issue model the electricity to cater to diverse sectors of people that live in the country. Because it's not funny anymore.

You have already said it all, Nigeria is not only a country to be proud of when it comes to electricity, but also the economy of the country, I know that it may not be only Nigeria facing hardship economic but for me, Nigeria is too much and all the citizens are frustrated, currently, now I don’t know how long it will take for some state to get electricity because I heard a new that the some of Nigeria grid has collapsed and it has affected some states from getting electricity.

My advice to any state that doesn’t have light is to tell the people in the state the find another way of having electricity, like buying generators and using solar energy to generate electricity for them if not the government will not even look at the situation of the grid at this moment, Nigeria is facing a lot of problems and the government have not shown any signs of taking action on any of these problems.
