Yes, lowering the frequency will lower the heat, since you're essentially lowering its hashrate, and that makes it consume less electricity, so it will produce less heat.

TLDR: It does 3 things.

1. Reduce Hashrate.
2. Reduce Heat/Temperature.
3. Reduce Electricity Consumption.

Yeah, I think low frequency generates low heat,  'cause when you change the frequency to 393 the system almost burn, the temperature reachs 60°C when the antminer is indoor; so, I was thinking if I change the frequency to 300 i.e the fans will work in a lower speed because the temperature of the whole system is also lower; you know... like a cicle.

think he wants lower clock speed so lower power and heat, slower fan speed can deal with

I dont think adjusting the chip speed will make any difference to the fan rpm.

Hi guys.

for any of you who got some experience with S1.... what changes with lower frequency on Antminer S1 and how to do?

I mean, I know how to OC it but not decrease the frequency...

I'm asking that 'cause my fan in broken, and I need a cheap fan at least till one original comes from China.

I got a fan from a IBM server and it's type that it's a 2800rpm; but mining with frequency on 350 the fan speed is sometimes 3300rpm.

Decreasing the frequency, I suppose, will be reasonable to lower the fan speed; but I confess... don't know how to do that....

Anyway.. if some one could help, it will be very cool.  Wink

Thanks.
