I am currently mining (and buying) LTC and occasionally I mine some BQC (which I sell for BTC/LTC). So I am not trying to pump primecoin or XRP or whatever  Tongue

As for KNCMiner, I think that if they are able to deliver the BTC miners in September they will instantly have a very good reputation.

In this article they are being interviewed : http://www.coindesk.com/a-look-inside-kncminer/
They want to start with a reprogrammable FPGA Scrypt miner, so you can mine not just LTC with it but also other Scrypt coins.

The company is planning an FPGA targeting the Scrypt-based altcurrency market, dominated by Litecoin, but with many other competitors.
Users will be able to visit the KnCMiner website and download software to reprogram FPGA chips to mine any new coin that emerges as a contender, he promises. “
That means that we can sell a $3000-$4000 product that returns your investment,” he says, but adds that it must be more functional than Mars.
“It needs memory channels, the ability to be reprogrammed, and probably its own web interface.”

Unless Litecoin has inherited from Bitcoin the ability to be primary chain in a merge?

In which case I'd likely point my scrypt FPGAs and ASICs at a merge of litecoin and any that can be merged alongside it.

I doubt KnC are going to deliver on their September orders. They have 10 weeks to do what BFL did right at the beginning - put a big price tag on a chassis. I wouldn't feel confident buying based off a greyscale doodle.

So, I doubt there will be LTC ASICs by the end of the year. I also expect a LTC ASIC will be very expensive.

Anyway, to your question. It may not be possible for an LTC ASIC to mine LTC clones. But if it does, LTC will obviously mined the most. I except the clones to fade away.

ASICs for BTC are being shipped in masses and more and more GPU mining rigs switch from BTC mining to LTC mining.
I have seen the intent of one of those companies (kncminer) to build an ASIC for LTC, maybe as soon as end of this year.

So once that happens and more and more ASICs join the LTC mining party, the GPU miners will slowly stop mining.
What coin will most GPU miners start mining you think?

It would be wise to think ahead and start investing in that coin.

Not subtle try at pumping XPM

What a nicely subtle way of pumping Primecoin. Smiley
