The Litecoin woke up  some hours ago and went from +/- 4$ to +/- 8$

There are some exchanges that allow btc/ltc , ltc/usd and ltc/eur exchanges - even on some (i.e. bitfinex) you can do margin trading with Litecoins.
And there is localLitcoins.

An interesting  aspect of Litecoin is that it uses Scrypt as hashing algo (Bitcoin uses sha265) - which, as mentioned above, makes it harder (or less usefull) to develop Asics for mining them.

You can find more info on http:/litecoin.org

You're not going to make a profit mining unless you mine a coin that goes way up in value after you mine it. Best to find a coin you could support and then get behind it and help out. The whole time mine it until your CPU turns to lava.  Smiley

I would say Litecoin since since the way it is mined different from bitcoin and it is unlikely there will ever be an ASIC for it. Anyway, you probably already know you won't earn much if you try to mine bitcoin with this hardware.

Hi. newbie in the cryptocoins world, for the last week I've been mining Protoshares using a Core i5 and 100 vps cores (MS Azure) but now those free trials are coming to an end, so with the Core i5 2320 only what are the best coins to mine in terms of profit? Electricity isn't a problem due to the fact that the PC is already on 24/7. Should I continue to mine PTS? The concept is intriguing but the execution an the people behind it are not up to standard.
