i always say to new people that Bitcoin is "a currency created for people to have control over their own money"

Cryptocurrency is freedom and it allows me to do whatever I want because it's decentralized. I am free to pay for anything I want. I am very happy that cryptocurrencies can protect my privacy very well.
Crypto was originally created to provide free space for its users to make payment transactions without being related to the banking system, but gradually the use of crypto is more likely to turn into an investment alternative due to regulatory pressure from many governments today, but I personally prefer to see it as an investment which is advantageous compared to its basic use as a payment alternative for now.
While I respect your views, I do not think that how you entirely define crypto is befitting to what it really is and what it stands for. I mean, yes it can give anyone financial freedom andake them retire early if they do things right or are lucky enough but isn't it also the se case with any career or industry out there? That's what I think. Now for my own definition of crypto, it would be:

Everyone asks me what is a cryptocurrency most of my answers it's a digital currency that is only at the online space today this is commonly used when you want to get an investment holding your assets and wait to take profit on it. For starters bitcoin is providing financial freedom not "crypto", and the reason for that is because bitcoin is decentralized and is created to work as a censorship resistant global payment system whereas majority of altcoins are created as money grabbing projects to be pumped and dumped so they can't provide any kind of financial freedom.
Additionally to "retire earlier" you will have to be able to make profit. Profit means trading and not making mistakes such as bag holding specially if you are talking about altcoins. In fact many people would have to work twice their lifetime since they lost a ton of money in shitcoin dumps because they were bag holding.
Not to mention that if you are good at trading and think you can make profit from it, you can do it in any other market like stocks or higher risk penny stocks market instead of the super risky and manipulated altcoin market.
