Historically, not all Decembers have been bad for bitcoin, especially since we are in the middle of a bull run, there is no reason to be pessimistic that this month will be bad for bitcoin. Bitcoin also just crossed $100k and even touched $104k and this will be a historic milestone for bitcoin, so saying that December will be a bad month is completely wrong.

Altcoin season has started and will get crazier as we enter 2025 and I don't see any problem if people start moving to altcoins for better profit opportunities. But i wouldn't consider this diversification as the entire altcoins are still dependent on bitcoin. If bitcoin price corrects or suddenly drops, altcoins will also suffer the same fate, so it cannot be said that investing in altcoins is diversification to reduce risk.
I did not meant that this month will be so bad for BTC, as BTC just crossed $100k after I made this post, what I meant is it can make dip of %5 to %10 maybe in this month or even a small dip is enough to make market bleed and price of altcoins will also decrease and that can be a good time for all the investors to pick their coins.

$104k is really a historic milestone, and this is not the stop for BTC $150k is programmed, IMO. And altcoins pumping is dependent on BTC and if BTC drops alts will drop but if BTC will pump ALTs won't pump until it stabilizes itself, and sometimes BTC is dumping but alts are pumping that's when I think alts will be getting money from BTC.

To reduce risk we must diversify in high caps, like top 30 or max top 50.

Yes, it's true that November 2024 was actually an excellent month for all Bitcoin investors, whereby we saw several new All Time High within a interval of days. So just as it ended few hours ago and we are now in the new month of December 2024, a thought have been ringing in my head, to why not write a few acronym which "DECEMBER" represent for members of the Bitcoin community, as an avenue to encourage people to always stick to their Bitcoin investment. Hence, this is what I was able to draft which "DECEMBER" represent for Bitcoin investors.

What "DECEMBER represent for Bitcoin investors

D – Diversify: Explore different crypto assets, but Bitcoin remains king.

E – Educate: Stay informed about market trends, tech developments, and regulations.

C – Cold Storage: Protect your assets by using secure cold wallets.

E – Evaluate: Regularly assess your portfolio and investment strategy.

M – Mindset: Stay patient and avoid emotional trading during market volatility.

B – Buy the Dip: Take advantage of price corrections to accumulate more Bitcoin.

E – Energy Efficiency: Be aware of the ongoing Bitcoin mining and sustainability debates.

R – Risk Management: Set clear goals, stop-losses, and avoid over-leveraging.

So in conclusion, just as we anticipate for the price of Bitcoin crossing $100k benchmark, lets not forget apply these eight points which "DECEMBER" represent for Bitcoin investors as shown above, as we endeavor to always strive to educate ourselves, protect our assets by storing in cold wallets, evaluate our investment strategy and take advantage of it's price correlation by always buying Bitcoin at the dip. So thank you all, as I welcome to you all into the lovely New Month of DECEMBER 2024.
Very nice concept I must say, the month of November was indeed spectacular, it was awesome, november is like the month where bitcoin laid its foundation for the breakthrough we have seen in this month of December, and we will see going forward too..

Bitcoin finally have crossed the much anticipated milestone which is the $100,000 price, everyone in crypto is happen for this awesome achievement, personally, I feel the journey just began actually, and henceforth, if we must achieve even greater things, we must apply more seriousness in all that you mentioned, it's important for us to diversify while maintaining or increasing our position in bitcoin, build a positive mindset at all time, learn to keep our investments safe on our self custody wallets and so on and on.
The race just got heated up, and it's time to take bitcoin to the next target being half a million dollars.

I don't offend you, but I think it's best to let December is December.

Don't try to input or extropolate the month word December to anything else, because December was not born for any meaning you want to attach. December itself is not an abbreviation, so if you try to attach some other words to each of December characters, it's too reluctant.

What does December mean for investors and traders?
See its history.
https://cryptorank.io/price/bitcoin/analytics

In Bitcoin monthly returns, there are two statistics for December:
  • Average: +8.65%
  • Median: +3.27%

It's not a too good month for short term profit.

Should we take this as a cue to slow down and plan for the new year instead?

Though everybody is entitled to their opinion, but just like I earlier said, I see nothing wrong with trying to attribute a meaning to the different characters of an already existing word of the English dictionary that suits our Bitcoin/crypto community. It's called innovation or creative thinking. Thanks 🙏
You've done a great job buddy! Keep it up, your creativity can bring something useful to the forum. Apart from using DECEMBER as an acronym, i have gone through your timeline and noticed you have also had good initiatives in the past in regard to Bitcoin awareness and adoption. Whatever you don't stop doing what you know how to do best.

This is my own definition:

D – Decentralization

E – Exceptional

C – Cryptography

E – Exchange

M – Market

B – Bull run

E – ETF

R – ROI (Return of investment)

If bitcoin price corrects or suddenly drops, altcoins will also suffer the same fate, so it cannot be said that investing in altcoins is diversification to reduce risk.

At this stage, it’s less about reducing risk and more about maximizing profits. Bitcoin might struggle to double its current price, but altcoins? I'm seeing the  potential to skyrocket by 200% or even more.

When altcoin season kicks in, prices can skyrocket like crazy, and we’ve seen it happen before. Those past bull runs have already given us a glimpse of what’s possible, so if history repeats itself, we could be in for another wild ride in the altcoin market.

With this market price of the bitcoin price got up again and now sitting with the 100k for sure tons of people getting curious again with the bitcoin and they keep wondering about the possible investment and profit they want, and this December tons of people again will possibly get a money again with their works, and of course bonuses. This scenratio is nothing new with the crypto because people would like to grab the opportunity to gain money with their investment at least. Every time people ask me about crypto as always said that makes an investment with your knowledge its too hard to make an investment to the things you don't have an idea. Makes this December feel enjoy too not only with the focus on bitcoins.

I can't agree more with you we must not abbreviate December word but you do agree with one thing that this month was not so good and according to history it was not that bullish as November and January are. So in this month I think alt season will start don't know about you if you like to invest in alts or not but alt season attracts more investors even from BTC to alts. People start to convert their assets into alts.

Their for the word diversification and evaluation and assessing our strategy with time is necassary in this month as we can find some good tokens to invest in for the upcoming year to make more returns or we can simply stick to the BTC and buy more BTC in this month.

Historically, not all Decembers have been bad for bitcoin, especially since we are in the middle of a bull run, there is no reason to be pessimistic that this month will be bad for bitcoin. Wow!! This is exactly the best thread for me, just last night I started to convert my fiat currency from my bank to an exchange and buy stablecoin temporarily, why? Because I will start buying the dips or just incase Bitcoin has a correction, it's fine, as long as I am ready always to press the green button.
Besides that, I am also looking to start buying some stocks, just for diversity thing  Cheesy

What about bigger alts to get along with BTC?

I agree with most of the points raised by the OP but I don't quire accept the aspect of diversification unless I will to shift away to other investment instruments such as real estate or rhe energy sector, and this is not what I'm ready for now as the process is cumbersome and requires huge capital. So Bitcoin is enough for me for now.

What is significant this December is that Bitcoin have reached 100k, this will be remembered forever and December will be on record as the month Bitcoin reached 100k

I would even go as far as reaching 110k in no time.
And diversification - some only accumulate BTC only, some - some alts along the way, others - completely new alts with risks attached.
It's okay to try, but as it was said in the post of OP - BTC is the king.

December, which is the holiday season, is a time when most people spend majorly on things that they don't actually budget for in a normal month. A lot of people have reasons to sell parts of their holdings this period because of the holiday.

The past years, some Decembers do show bullish signs and remain that way, while some do remain on the bearish side, which is either caused by selling pressure or price correction from October to November movement. Let's just watch and see what 2024 December's have to offer to us with Trump in the picture; there is a great chance for us to end the year on the bullish side.
Maybe the investor want to wait and sell their asset if the market situation still show a good moves so they can have money and go to holiday. So they can still hopes that in this month, the situation will still better and can gives them a nice profit.

From the end of November, we see the bullish comes so that can continue in this month and gives more chances to make a big profit. But for crypto investor will still continue their investing in crypto especially for invest in Bitcoin because they have a big expectation to make a big profit later.

D – Diversify: Explore different crypto assets, but Bitcoin remains king.
Mind what you are considering to be investment all in the the name of diversifying. Many people planned of diversifying and end up investing the wrong coin.

For me instead of investing in altcoins that may not have value it is better to continue with bitcoin because their are no another altcoins that can match up its potential.  This advice of diversifying is good for those who are so much into altcoins,  it is very important for them to diversify to bitcoin investment because this can be the best investment for them when it comes to good value and a reliable investment which you don't need to be worried about or crash of value .

Firstly very nice presentation of information in the thread through and acronym and some images.

Holidays are the times when strange movements happen. Easy way to put it, is that it is unpredictable. I think the objective is clear and we need to improve the mindset first before trading itself.

Learning some basic skills on the holiday season does seem a bit odd because people are usually going to relax a bit. But keeping that spirit throughout the year would be a better move.
December could be a favorable yet challenging month for bitcoin investors. As you’ve said, strange movements do happen but everything still depends on the market condition. But behind that, considering the historical price trends, we could also anticipate price skyrocket and bullish market. That’s actually the best season that we all have been waiting.

However, market correction and its volatility are still inevitable. That’s why we should be cautious on our decisions by staying informed so we can avoid sudden losses, and still maximize profit potentials.

I like your idea in this post, i take every month the same way, but i like what you came up with here, it is thoughtful and the images are beautiful. However, i don't agree with the idea of diversifying by buying other crypto assets, i believe that by diversifying, you should be buying BTC and other assets that is not related to cryptocurrency, i.e. real estate.

Welcome to the festive season guys, let us protect our funds and wait on what next year holds for the BTC network, it promises to be really interesting for us all.

Yeah we strongly think that the creation of Bitcoin is logical yet we are connecting it somehow to some sentimental stuff like months, I won't be surprised if one day we try to connect it to astrology or constellations. Bitcoin could be $1 in December and $100k in July, I don't see any relativity of Bitcoin to any point in calendar unless it is halving year. December means another year is coming and for the market it is another year to survive and prosper, let that be the purpose of December lol

This is what's the mistake of many. They don't buy on the dip, they don't buy on the bear but they do buy on the bull run.
But this period could be an investor's dip period. Some people believe that the price of Bitcoin will appreciate beyond the present price in the future and they might not be considering to sell in this bull season. So even at this current high price, they are considering it as the dip, an example is Microstrategy.

The B = but the dip is not found in Bitcoin in the month of December. And all the two Decembers I have spent in the crypto market, I have not seen the dip. The year I registered in the forum, was the minimum dip I know and even at that bitcoin was on the rise. Because before December Bitcoin was running $16k - $19 and in the December 2022, it rises to $20+k and from there it has started rising till now so December is the month Bitcoin rises and not on the dip.
Those who have invested smile in the Month of December and January.
You should simply say that the December of every Bitcoin halving year is not the dip period. Check your examples and you will discover that if you have bought Bitcoin between $16k to $20k you indeed bought the dip. If you consider the price this period it will be clear that you have made so much profit.
