also - try a different middlecoin server or another pool
Middlecoin has a high reject rate these days.

Sometimes. My 290s pointing at it were having like 9% rejects, but all of our 280x rigs on the same middlecoin server were like 1.1%.

Your GPU settings can also affect it. If you're running your intensity at 20, drop it down to 19 or even 18. You might lose a few kh/s, but a 1% drop in hashrate while dropping your rejects from 10% to 4% is still a net gain.

From what I gathered it could be numerous reasons:
  • Bad configuration
  • Internet connection
  • pool
  • hardware

Thing is, I just got my R9 290, Asus reference card with Hynix mem, and I've been playing around its settings for over a day now, but no matter what configuration I'm using, I get around 10% reject.

Currently I'm at 911/1250 with 1.023v, trying to get the best KH/w performance (and getting about 205w from wall for the card itself with 820KH/s with 750 WU).
Also, my rig is connected via wi-fi (no way to get cable there) and I'm mining at middlecoin.

Ideas?
