It hasn't really crashed. It's just slowly sliding back to the correct market price after a hype-driven speculative bubble.

There were a few problems, such as MyBitcoin going down and bitomat losing its users coins, but I believe they are not directly related to the price fall. My best answer to you question is that there are simply more people selling than buying.

More people just selling mining profits for USD than buyers wanting BTC.

i haven't been watching bitcoin for two months... why the crash?  is there a simple reason? ...like another security problem at mtgox?
or is it simply a supply dump?
