Above all, to earn merits, you have to know the Search tool of the forum. This tool help you to find stuffs you need for your interests or for the demands of the others whom ask for help. If you can help the others (from your knowledge, and from the Search tool's results, you will have more odds to earn merits).

Search Tool: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=search

You can also use the other search engines: Google, Duckduckgo, bing, etc.

Don't make merit post, if you wanna earn merits. Only way to earn merits is your contribution.

What you mean exactly dont make merit post? Or dont create a post asking for any merit or merit is the main topic?

I think its hard not to mentioned merit as what your going to inquire is about earning them. Actually he got a legitimate question, the problem here its  been redundant already. Newbies proven to be beginner level so why bash them right instead just tell them what to do.

For OP, I think most post here already spill you a steer IMO the thread should be locked now and be moved. Unless your not satisfied with the discussion.
Might be he mean by "don't ask for merit".
Op, a little suggestion, Just stay on topic and you will understand by yourself, also you must read more before you make a post

Me too. Looking for some merit yourself. However, it is really difficult for those who lack experience and limited understanding like me!
I have read many articles from many active people at forums, their posts are really helpful.

These articles may be news, information necessary for the difficulties that newcomers encounter, answers to difficult problems, or it may be a warning to us. scam of someone.
Wish you success, I will follow you ^^

If you absolutely know nothing, you can start off by sharing useful information. Some sources would be cointelegraph and other related sites that contain daily updates and information regarding the everyday events in the crypto scene. You can then slowly try to study various topics regarding BTC in the forum together with being updated daily to the events in the scene. You can't really get any merits as long as you know nothing, and posting repeatedly wouldn't help you develop your knowledge so study up.

Probably start the practice by posting, not for merits, but for questions. Find answers regarding things you don't understand, so you can share them to others as well in the near future. This takes time tbh, and if you're not willing to learn, it isn't really possible. It ain't like school where you're needed to study the materials given so its difficult at times to find the will to start studying all of a sudden.

Merits were given if others find your posts useful for them. It's a personal criteria of every user whether they think you deserve merit or not, so just be true, and share what you can share. Merit isn't the main goal here, it's the contribution to the forum. But you can gain merits by giving quality posts and be active. I already said this before that merits are just a bonus for the efforts we give in helping others and sharing our knowledge.  Also, don't forget to be kind to everyone here.

Just forget about merit, believe me, it's very essential, don't be too much focused on it, change your way of thinking and as the other members said seek useful knowledge, share it, help others, answer their question then you will undoubtedly be contributing positively to the forum. Merit will come to you don't worry just change your perspective.
Merit is a two-edged sword if you think too much about it will harm you badly, if you forget about it you will be able to think positively and benefit yourself and others.

Don't make merit post, if you wanna earn merits. Only way to earn merits is your contribution. Seems most of your post on Games & Rounds section and very low chances earn merit from there. Share you knowledge & experiences with forum users, perhaps they would reward you with merits if they think your post is a quality and useful post.

More importantly, you should use search button before make these kind of post. As said on first reply, there is lots of posts and guidelines for how to earn merits. It will save your times.
