Hey guy what's up?

I rencently started to use Augur, and it kinda looks like the same process than sports trading. I enjoying it a lot!
What do you guys think about it?

i have got the feeling that this coin will soon be the new hype that will also challenge ethereum for the second place.
in other words it has the potential of a big pump in it, lets see how it lives up to the expectations.

Hopefully you are right. I bought some today  Smiley

Not to alarm you... but you shouldn't have bought REP now. If you read through the thread, you'll check that the price should be dippening futher down. My guess is that it can go down to 2 millibits... that should be a good buy range Wink

too expensive. those who bought at ICO at still handsomely winning.

Gnosis is a serious competitor and making its own ICO.

Even if Augur is a promising project, i think REP should trade down to something like 20M-25M usd market cap , so more than halve still from now... (to 0.004 btc).
I doubt Gnosis will raise 50M USD and both tokens will trade at a similar valuation i believe.

In itself it might be OK but personally I would tend to stay clear, I like recourse if there is ever an issue and I dont get that from Augur.

to understand more about Augur prediction market you can visit their Blog:
http://blog.augur.net/page/3/

The blog is very well written...
But they completely dodge the issue of CFTC regulation that shut down Intrade...
By putting themselves (a tiny startup) on equal terms with US government agencies...
And claiming that their litany of buzzwords will "help" the government in every possible way.

How is that working out for US online poker? Or Bitcoin poker with 0.01% of the market?

A better solution is the one chosen by Digix = base company in blockchain friendly Singapore.

So far, I have failed to understand their system. Could u please explain how it works?

Basically, Augur is much like any sports trading market like Betfair or Betdaq... The big difference is that it is a decentralized market and users can open their own markets on a prediction over praticaly anything ... Users can then buy and sell shares of a possible outcome for a specific market... off course there much more to it...

This, the site looks very good and clean but I don't think I have the interest to participate in their site, as it looks complicated and it is only in beta. I might try it at a later date, but not at the moment.
I have tried to search for the augur site without any success, can you please point me to the direction in order to see the opportunity and potentials.

Why not tell us what you think? Please give a detailed review and why you find it the same process as sports trading. Also is it already usable? I thought it was not ready until the 1st quarter of 2017.

The reality of the situation is most of the people just like holding the coins and wait for it to go up in price. They do not even withdraw the coins from the exchange to use in its respective platform.
