Are you guys currently using bitcoin to make payments or making purchases with bitcoin? maybe for invest only? I'm just wondering if bitcoin  will recover from that tesla did.
For now I only use bitcoin for trading activities, while to make various payments this year I have never done it, for now I also hope that the price of bitcoin and altcoins will go up again, after a while ago the Tesla company closed payments using bitcoin. which made the price of bitcoin drop momentarily

So far I have buy one of those amazing "I use coins" shirt (the website does no more exists), one ounce of silver for the "I own silver, I am super rich" feeling (from amagimetals), an humble bundle (my first time buying humble bundle \o/) and I am waiting a nice honey package from beesbrothers (super kind little producer). I also plan to buy some cuban cigars sooner or later.
Now you know all about me. And you what do you use you coins on ?

Much better to invest Bitcoin than to convert it to usdt or withdraw to fiat. This is the time to add more potential coins like Bitcoin and Ethereum while the market is down. I do believe in due time Bitcoin and the entire market will recover again. Just hold Bitcoin and don't sell it while dump.

I think bitcoin is good for the store, because of its Scarcity. bitcoin can be regarded as one kind of investment and hold for a long time. Maybe it will bring big surprise sometimes.

I use Bitcoin for long term investments bitcoin is a very good currency and traders become profitable by investing in the crypto market. It is a coin that is not issued by any central bank or any country some people have developed this system using the internet system it can be called a kind of gambling on the basis of which I can use my money to do something profitable which is why most people are running after it now. It's not just about making money it's about solving the problems of savings merchants.

Initially I used it as an investment for long term benefit. In between due to some sort of greed started to use it on gambling. From that the major use of bitcoin in my wallet was for gambling. These days it is very rare to use my bitcoin for other needs. Maybe now onwards I need to accumulate so to make it useful for my life needs.
I hope that you will be able to use your bitcoin for other thing besides gambling, you could make more money out of not gambling and just saving your bitcoin, you said that you did investment initially and I think that you should start that all over again, takes a lot of discipline to resist temptation with gambling. I don't have to spend my bitcoin yet since it isn't a lot and the price currently is on the red so I won't be spending or cashing it out at this time but I plan to save for a big investment.

I use it only as a means of investing in commodity set funds. Having bitcoin as payment is not the right thing we have to pay quite expensive fees for one transaction, I prefer other coins for payment. But storing bitcoin for the long term is great.

I think bitcoin dominated for every Countries by once a time.So hard working some profession and earning for use bitcoin.

bitcoin is a technologically advanced money, people think it is the money of the future. Some platforms accept and can send via bitcoin, in addition, easy-to-use bitcoin is not as difficult as fiat.

I'm in the US, when I go out into the streets to stores and malls, nobody accepts Bitcoin, just fiat, the $USD american dollar. So Bitcoin is just an investment for me. Gonna be a long time before I can spend bitcoin freely in stores like I can fiat

In my country even prohibits the use of bitcoin as a means of payment, only fiat currency is valid in payments. However, they allow bitcoin as a communiqué asset for the long term. Even some banks plan to make their own cryptocurrency coins in my country.

For me bitcoin is like a tool to make a lot of money. Bitcoin is a virtual currency, the value of bitcoin is very large. I can invest in bitcoins in many different ways: like buying bitcoins and selling them when the value of bitcoins increases. I can post on the forum to promote a project about bitcoin for a commission. Playing games in bitcoin is also a way for me to earn a lot of money.

in this forum I am sure there will be many answers to this question, but they have their own choices. For me bitcoin is a medium of exchange that is like money, so I use it like money, shopping, investing, and so on. Because in my opinion, with bitcoin we no longer bother to carry a lot of money in the wallet, but 1 bitcoin is enough to buy whatever you like.

I managed to sell my bitcoins when they were at a price level above $ 50,000. It seems that I successfully managed to get rid of them and now I watch the charts with a slight smile, as the trend is still bearish. I think it will be possible to buy if the price goes below $ 30,000, since sooner or later it will rise again, perhaps even this year. In the meantime, we can state that the investment turned out to be successful.

That's good to hear. My latest purchases were some at $49000 on a big dip on March 2nd.
The investment is down short term since today BTC is 43k, but then again, I don't sell at all. I only buy on big dips, then hold permanently.

The current situation looks to be heading towards a big dip. I have about $1200 ready to spend, but I'm not buying any yet.

I'm counting on the price going a little lower. I wouldn't buy yet, but people's mileage may vary.

So far, my strategy of only buying has worked well, but I'm sure active traders who also sell during dips, then buy back in, could get more profit. I don't have the nerve or expertise for that.

I only hold it as a passive asset like gold. That's it. I don't even pretend to use it for daily transactions or as a money replacement.

I have not sold a single bitcoin since 2016. I only hold or buy more on big dips.

Do I think this has been a good strategy so far? Sure, but I don't mind if people sell their holdings during dips.
That can be a smart way to get back in cheaper.

I've witnessed so many dips and rises I don't bother to look at the chart anymore.
Whenever I have a spare $300-500 fiat, I buy btc with it (unless it is on a very sharp rise; I only buy when the price has been stable for a few weeks).

I used to mine, back when multi-GPU mining was still somewhat profitable and I was much younger, but I never made much money doing so because the electricity bills were quite high, and I had to sell coins to pay the bills.
I also used to sell BTC via Western Union on this forum on my main account to people in third world countries, but I'm unable to recover the password. I doubt I'm going to ever do that again.

All the profit I've made from BTC has been from holding rather than mining. I don't think I'm ever going to mine another bitcoin again, let alone buy an ASIC.
Small scale mining is also stressful, heats up the house, hardware crashes randomly, parts fail, no thanks. I'll let those giant mining corps deal with those stresses.

I'm still confused why people keep talking about this Tesla news. I haven't read the news and I don't understand what's really happening, but from what I have read so far, people are saying that Tesla decided to stop accepting Bitcoin as a payment on their website. If that's just what happened, then I don't really see how we can link that to the price that has been falling. Unless they sold their $1.5 billion investment in bitcoin??? Because that's the only thing I think can affect the market in one way or the other. That aside I don't think not accepting it as payment can do much.

Anyway, I won't say much since I haven't gotten to know much about it. As for what I have been making use of bitcoin for, it's only for investment and for making transactions. I haven't used Bitcoin to make a purchase before. Maybe one day I might do that, but it hasn't been of interest to me to try it.

Basically for me at the moment is purely for speculation/trading. Most of the stores I buy stuff from being it online or within the community do not really use bitcoin at the moment and I have not come across anything that might make me spend my Bitcoin directly other than trading.

For some there are online wallets that has an easy convert function so you would use your bitcoin to payments or any other function of a money, I use mine for paying bills but the way it is handled is that I pay the online wallet using bitcoin so basically they're buying my bitcoin to use it for payment. If that counts as usage, but other than investment I don't have a specific use for bitcoin, I would only use it for trading since most trading only has the USD so we need to buy bitcoin or eth first before getting the chance to trade.

As long as I could use it and avoid going out to stay safe then I would.

Sounds like all the things alt people say. Payment, sending money, investment etc. But most people actually only use it for trading (or more specifically, speculation).

Sending BTC to each other with Luno for example you didn't even need to ever operate a real Bitcoin wallet, much less sign transactions and choose inputs and fees!

Mainly as a store of value and investment purpose,  holding btc has always been profitable for both long and short term, I rarely use btc buy or make payment because of the price fluctuations, I can't imagine spending certain amount of btc on a goods or service then few days later the price of that services double  Smiley  maybe when btc is universally accepted the price value won't be an issue anymore.
Same mate, I just use it for investment purposes. In our country they didn't allow to use it for payment or maybe they allow and I'm still don't know it, but for sure I wont use it for payment because of the price fluctuations. I'm scared to use it then will know the next day the price doubled. I'm very careful in investing and wont allow my self for spending it. I don't want to have that "pizza day" and regret it in the end.

I only see bitcoin as an investment and I know it will give me great returns in the long run. Paying for goods with Bitcoin or making purchases is not really common in our country.

I'm just wondering if bitcoin  will recover from that tesla did.
We are just exaggerating the fact that Tesla accepts payments and stops accepting Bitcoin. Surely Bitcoin will increase in value again because now businesses and investment funds are actively buying Bitcoin so I am not worried about its drop.

Considering where I come from there's pretty much nothing you can do with Bitcoins other than just investing. If online shopping would start accepting Bitcoins it would be nice to put those coins to use for a change. But I guess for now its just gonna be circulating in the crypto world itself and slowly grow.

For now only investment, because fees that needed to do payment is really big. Maybe worth if price of thing that we want to buy is expensive, but maybe not all people will do it. I think it is ok although bitcoin not really valuable to be used as payment, because as investment, it already have a lot of supporters.

I use bitcoin to buy goods and investments, but in our country bitcoin must be exchanged for national money, because it doesn't apply here. so when I get bitcoin, then I immediately sell it and spend useful items, for example cars, land, houses and so on, because investments in such items are also very necessary until their prices go up, then I will sell them.
I completely agree with you about real estate. real estate is an asset that always goes up in value, or the price of real estate can stand still. but as for cars, I would not invest in such an asset. cars in our country are very unprofitable investments.

I always see BTC as a mode of payment or medium of exchange yes I save some but if there is an opportunity, I always wanted to use Bitcoin to pay for goods and other stuff.   This is somehow my little contribution to support the economy of Bitcoin at least.

What do you think bitcoin is used about investing? So far I have not spent bitcoin on shopping just for investment. I support bitcoin by investing. It would be great to introduce bitcoin with education so that they know the advantages and disadvantages and benefits of bitcoin.

It is a wise move since you use Bitcoin to enrich your financial capability.  Each person has a different view on Bitcoin and they have the right to do so.  Wise people will make their holding increase while enjoying the benefits that it gives.  Like Bitcoin, we enjoy being our bank while having the opportunity to increase it through investment.

I currently use it to invest. Bitcoin is less stable when used as a means of payment. For example, you buy $10 today tomorrow can be $20 or even $100 or it could be $1, not to mention a fairly expensive transaction fee. Using other coins was my choice to shop.

Tesla issue will pass mate thats not even enough to make Bitcoin fall badly and also this market stands long years even tesla was not inside so  how would we rely our market with just one company?
Though you are correct because  most of us only use bitcoin for investment purposes but that is because in many countries there are only limited use so option is to hold and wait for the adoption.

Are you guys currently using bitcoin to make payments or making purchases with bitcoin? maybe for invest only? I'm just wondering if bitcoin  will recover from that tesla did.
I use bitcoin for the investment thing and I make a profit from that.
I do not use bitcoin to make a payment or purchase something using bitcoin because bitcoin is too worth for that.
I believe bitcoin will recover and will have a chance to increase and break $60k soon.
But to go to that price, we need to have patience and not panic every time the price is down, especially if the bitcoin price is down for more.
We can buy back bitcoin if the price is dropping like today because this price can be hard to be seen in the future.
I also prefer to use Bitcoin for investment, because the price of Bitcoin has continued to rise since the beginning of the year, very profitable
if we invest in Bitcoin. Maybe another reason I don't use Bitcoin for payments is because my country prohibits using Bitcoin as payment.
Actually, I really hope that in my country Bitcoin legalizes as a means of payment. Regarding the current corrected Bitcoin price, I don't think
we need to worry, because I am optimistic that Bitcoin will recover soon and the price can rise above $ 60k. So I will not intend to sell the Bitcoin
that I have.
Yes, using bitcoin for investment can give us the profit from the rise of the bitcoin price.
And now, even if the bitcoin price is down below $50k, that will not be a problem because bitcoin price will increase again soon.
Even if our country allows us to use bitcoin as payment, I still prefer to use bitcoin for the investment with the increasing of bitcoin price.
Sooner or later, if the government can see the benefits of bitcoin as the payment, they will allow bitcoin to be used as payment, working together with fiat.
I also optimist that bitcoin will reach $60k but we need to satisfy the price now.

As of the moment, the main usage of Bitcoin for me is duly for investment purposes due to the reason that there is no direct payment method available here for my purchases that accepts Bitcoin here in my place so I do really need to convert and make it into fiat before I can be able to somehow make use of my earnings that I have from Bitcoin. I also do consider making use of investment with Bitcoin rather than spending it because of its potential when it comes to price improvement so it will make big sense doing investment since there is no availability of where I can use it for purchasing goods and services.

I used mainly my crypto holdings for re-investment purposes like in Binance Earn or staking coins. But sometimes, I convert it my local fiat for personal expenses. And very few times, I used it directly to pay my monthly bills like water and electricity if I ran out of cash, as we have local mobile wallet that accepts crypto as direct payment for these bills. Of course, the exchange rate depends on their platform rate, and usually it is lower than the global market rate. So as much as possible, I don't want to pay crypto for these bills. So I can very well agree, if most crypto users don't want to spend their crypto, bitcoin in particular, as the probability of gaining profit is really high.

Buying altcoins is a better use for BTC, this is what I do too.
There is a shift because it seems like not just Elon is trolling BTC, there's also Cuban who predicted ETH will take over BTC. Internet users can't just ignore Elon's tweet because the news is also reporting it. Whatever happens to BTC, it's just because of the sellers who moved their investment on altcoins which we now can see the rise of some altcoins.

Control and freedom is what allured quite a lot of people to Bitcoin. Fiat currencies and also digital Fiat (cbdc) is all about government regulations/control, and due to that, it's possible for them to manipulate and print it as they deem fit. But Bitcoin is different in many ways, it's a "be your own bank" kind of currency, and it's interesting for people who use it.

It's pretty easy to find out that the majority of Bitcoin users use the currency as an investment, but that doesn't in any way hinder it's development, and it's as well definitely a currency (cause it performs all it's features), a hedge against inflation, etc, Bitcoin is basically a currency that's different from the traditional/orthodox ones, and what one uses it for, totally depends on the user.

1. I don't use Bitcoin for purchases, only for transactions, because there are no places (physical, I mean) that accept payments in cryptocurrencies. I wish there was, but I don't see that happening in the nearest future, maybe in 2-3 years.
2. Bitcoin will recover, it only lost one big investor (that we know of) so far, there are hodlers that have much more coins, and no one's concerned about what they're going to do in the nearest future, right? Maybe they're sitting here and thinking of selling it all just this minute. It can happen any time. But Bitcoin has shown the ability to quickly recover its price on the market lately, so there's no threat.

Are you guys currently using bitcoin to make payments or making purchases with bitcoin? maybe for invest only? I'm just wondering if bitcoin  will recover from that tesla did.
I use my Bitcoin as an investment I would avoid using it as long as I have cash.
I also think that Bitcoin would soon recover after this and it is normal for Bitcoin to drop down at some point.

Both. Since here in our country, using Bitcoin for such payments-especially locally is not that so popular, so most of the uses of my Bitcoins are in online services or products such as online shopping (but this is not directly Bitcoin, It's just swapping your Bitcoin to our fiat and mark as paid the order directly).
Speaking of investment, somewhat like that too. Since I hodl most of my Bitcoin from 2017 and plan to hodl it for the long term.

This is the reason why so many citizens failed to understand the real meaning and purpose of bitcoin into the ecosystem, they may find it hard to understand the concept that's why they feel reluctant when it comes to bitcoin investment, in my country, so many people are still scared of bitcoin and discribing bitcoin as a scam things, a situation whereby newbies sees the usage of bitcoin as a means of payments in various sectors around the region will justify to be relevant assets.

Primarily to invest or to secure a value.

For example, when shopping at a provider that accepts bitcoin for many items. Sending to a packing station possible and communication via PGP. If you have any questions, you can also send a telegram. Recently there was news: „Buy over 50,000 sporting goods with Bitcoin“. The provider is called Shopinbit.com.

before when i was starting in btc i actively using my btc anywhere for randome purchase but later on i developed a passion of holding a btc after finding out that it can be a great investment but for the tesla issue yes btc can recover .
why join two seperate question at once .
its because you think it affects the view of people in using their btc  ?
no it wont because its not the fault of btc and btc has been in used by other merchants before tesla came .

It is people's reaction that made it look like Telsa controls Bitcoin. Surely a lot dumped when Musk recently mentioned the suspension of Bitcoin payments to his Tesla.
People will always follow the footprints that rich people do. I am not even surprised if Bill Gates would be the next to hype some random coin.

rather I invest and trade in this bitcoin. but unlike tesla, i have no intention and until now it has not occurred in my mind to exchange the bitcoin i have with tesla. even though I don't have tesla I don't have a problem with that because for me the bitcoin that I've been holding for the last few years doesn't match the tesla that has been in the news lately.
If you have a cash amount that perfect to buy tesla I rather invest it into bitcoin, imagine if the price will up in the next 3 years twice into your capital. It supposedly you buy your car tesla for me. So, holding here is the most important with your desire profit and harvesting it is a perfect time.

I don't use my bitcoin for any unnecessary payment, as long as I can able to manage and use my fiat, I avoid spending all my bitcoin because, for me, bitcoin now isn't a mode of payment, it is a storing the value where you will potentially gain profit after years of holding. To tell you, I hold my bitcoin most of all time.

I am only using Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies as investment and trading.  For,  using them for payment as a currency is still forbidden in my country.

I'm just a small investor. But I recommend you. Stop watching tweets from Elon. It doesn't make sense. It is only that they are deliberately manipulating the market.elon or Tesla cannot affect Bitcoin's development.

I am using for both of what you've been said. I am using bitcoin for transactions that are allow d to use cryptocurrency like bitcoin and other cryptos. Another thing is that I am also using bitcoin for investments also especially today, that we can use cryptocurrency as an investments and let's be honest everyone this is the perfect time to make investment in crypto. There's so many thing we can use our bitcoin or other cryptocurrency just like for example we can use it as an gambling assets in order for us to start playing or gambling.

I probably will not be unique if I say that despite all the speculations and manipulations that Elon Musk produces with the cryptocurrency, I remain an adherent of the belief in bitcoin. Musk plays with manipulating his tweets, but I hope that soon society will understand that Musk was never a fan of cryptocurrencies. The only thing that interests him is money. If tomorrow something appears that can bring him capital, he will talk about his sympathy for this source.
Bitcoin can handle it without Tesla. Many institutions believed in him and invested a lot of money. Therefore, I also remain the holder of bitcoin, spend or exchange it for fiat until I see the need.

How can you access your bitcoin even though it is banned in your country, I am pretty sure that they are strict in implementation of the ban and they ban some sites that they find to use bitcoin or cryptocurrency. Have you cashed out some of your bitcoin into fiat? I am genuinely curious. For me, I use my bitcoin for paying bills in the house and if there are some leftover, I will just let it sit there and hodl it.

Btc was created for a means of payment and not for holding. Btc real use is like a money and not like gold. In other words it is digital money not digital gold
In recent days, you have also seen how the intention to pay with bitcoin is a bad opportunity especially when it falls into the hands of large corporations, they can evaporate billions of dollars in a few hours, so eliminating such ideas will help the environment and our future path to be better developed. In terms of value, bitcoin is already seen as a formal investment, old and outdated ideas such as payment or remittance should be ignored

You ask a question about, has Bitcoin become a transaction tool to buy the goods you want. not so dancing question. I'm more interested in your last question about the decline in the price of Bitcoin due to Tesla or rather Elon Musk. With the news surfacing on Elon Musk's tweet about not accepting Bitcoin, making the fall occurred but that wasn't the first problem of the Tweet. There are many factors that make the drop occur but you should take advantage of this decline as this is the perfect time to buy a sizable amount.

I've been in BTC and Cryptocurrency stuffs for almost 2 years and counting so I generally used it as a long-term investment considering how it grows tremendously for almost a decade. I haven't tried BTC trading since it is complicated reading market charts and analyzing the movement of market price but you could exchange your BTC to other cryptocurrency coins like ETH.XRP. BCH and etc.

For the long year that I've known and used bitcoin, I solely use it only for investment alone. Even though I made a mistake once when the 2018 dump occured, I sold most of bitcoin in fear of losing more of it as the dump continues. Now, bitcoin was able to achieve an ATH of $60k and regrets come forth for me as I witness it. It is really important that you have the courage to hold your bitcoin as long as you can in order for you to benefit from it as its value goes higher and higher. As I've been given opportunity to invest once again in bitcoin, I will not waste it and will not let the happenings within it affect my holding.

Bitcoin will definitely recover even Tesla turned its back from supporting it. First off, it is not only the big company that has an optimistic view about bitcoin payments and bitcoin blockchain, there are tons of companies that definitely support it even one spread negative news about it.

With regards to your question about the usage of it? Ive been using it as an investment (or an asset ), but will admit that I rarely use it as a payment method. Not everyone will gonna agree to use it as transaction purposes especially in everyday basis.

Currently, I believe most people still use bitcoin only as an investment asset. Most people consider bitcoin too expensive too be used as a currency to buy goods and services.
Another limiting factor is the volatility of bitcoin, the mere knowing of the fact that it is possible for that unit of bitcoin to increase in price makes me unwilling to spend it on goods. It is the same way for the receipient of the coins. Such person is unwilling to accept it because its value could reduce making him lose some money.
I believe bitcoin will be more of a currency than an investment asset if its price becomes relatively stable.

I think that bitcoin will be an investment instrument for a long time, for me personally, bitcoin is an investment. Not only high volatility hinders Bitcoin, but also high fees. But for long-term investment, this is a very good tool that can bring a very good profit.

Both, because why not right? I just recently paid my bills using Bitcoin while holding into my other wallet.

Don't get fixated about the recent Tesla-Bitcoin news. It is showing that people are becoming too driven by large companies on the reasons why they invest in here.
People think that Bitcoin's price is merely controlled by celebrities, media and large companies, but they don't realize that it is their reaction in the first place.

Bitcoin no one can control it moves and tries itself and that's for sure, but all of it can't be separated from social media and what news is there. sometimes news that is not necessarily true but can affect the movement of bitcoin, this is what makes things uncontrollable and can be controlled by them. even though it will not be long and will be as it used to be, but because all believe they make what is done will continue.

Bitcoin is able to work with existing capabilities and is supported by investors who really invest their funds there, not by a handful of people who influence for their own interests later.

I have used Bitcoin to refill my phone balance. To be honest it was more expensive for me to use BTC to recharge my phone than to pay with it by fiat currency, which was truly disappointing  Shocked Roll Eyes
You can easily go to someone or store that is selling credit cards to recharge, you can even make use of your bank directly, both did not require any fee in my country which I believe will be the same in other countries. Making use of Bitcoin will require you to send bitcoin to one address which will require transaction fee, buying it when the feerate is low upto 10 sat/vbyte or 5 sat/vbyte will make the transaction fee to be less which can even be less than $1 if using segwit is used for the payment with 5 sat/vbyte feerate, but buying card using bitcoin will demand for fee.

Even if we canuse bitcoin to purchase goods, i will never use it because it is insane to spend bitcoin when its price always go up

Bitcoin is more suitable as a means of investment than a means of payment. It's not just about rising prices, transaction fees are also quite high. I think I can choose a coin that is cheap and fast to use transactions. That certainly does not hurt transaction fees compared to using bitcoin.

- I am using it for my investment and sometimes do trading.
- I am also using it to convert into different altcoins that I am using for some blockchain games
- In gambling as well, there are some time when I feel bored and sometimes when my friend invited me to gamble
- Convert it into fiat currency so I can have the cash to buy some of my needs and wants.

I use bitcoin through bitrefill to buy up balances on some of the e-commerce websites that I regularly use for groceries, clothes etc. The premium on bitrefill prices though has gone up quite a lot in recent times.

I have also just converted a little to BTC on the Rootstock, (RBTC) to use it on a recent DeFi platform. It isn't offering much compared to those on Ethereum but hopefully this will pick up some pace in the times to come.

Last use for BTC is of course savings. I put a little amount regularly into an untouched stash. It is basically the fiat alternate saving mechanism which I hope will continue to beat inflation and normal returns, in the long run.

And unlike with the Tesla announcement, I don't find it discouraging because if they don't want it then so be it. Bitcoin has been resilient all of the time and you just have to move on and forget about that. I use both for bitcoin, for payments and as an asset and I've been enduring negative words in the market and learned that's how it is and you just get to used to it.
The Tesla announcement actually probably gave hope that it will likely be implemented again once either the research shows that Bitcoin isn't more detrimental than other industries or more miners move to green energy, which if they are in Bitcoin for the long term seems beneficial to me since they'll want to keep the long term costs down.
Just as Elon has changed his mind, I agree that there's a likelihood that it could also change again after doing further research with his team. I think that he won't mind reading and hearing the opinions of everyone why he didn't do their own research before investing in bitcoin and having those opinions sounds negative to him. In his new tweet, he said that he's a strong believer in crypto but he's just too concerned about energy. I saw Michael Saylor replied on that tweet of his.

First and foremost, Bitcoin has survived all kinds of labelling, condemnation, criticisms, lack of support, hundreds of death declarations, and whatnots since day one, since the day it has only a handful of believers. Back in the day, Bitcoin was a lone voice in the wilderness. It has grown into a global currency since then. Do you seriously think a single man's tweet would bring it down?

Anyway, I'm limited to a few online payments with my Bitcoin. But no problem with me. Most of the time, I'm stacking up rather than letting go of my Bitcoin.

Are you guys currently using bitcoin to make payments or making purchases with bitcoin? maybe for invest only? I'm just wondering if bitcoin  will recover from that tesla did.
If you are really knowledgeable about Bitcoin then you will know the benefits of bitcoin. Bitcoin has extremely practical applications in life now and in the future. Currently, some businesses are analyzing and tending to want to pay in BTC to reduce costs and save time for their businesses. As for me, I use Bitcoin only to invest and earn. I buy Bitcoin waiting for high price to sell for profit or participate in bounty campaigns to get free coins.

Why people care about Elon musk announcement or tweeted.? I don't care about Elon musk tweet because I am only trader and investor. I use only bitcoin as my trading platform and sometimes I invested in Bitcoin. Only few people are using cryptocurrencies as car tesla buying. So please be patient and wait for next update. Don't fear about elon musk's announcement.

For the record, there are more brutal statements in the past than with that latest statement of Tesla/Elon towards bitcoin. If you go and check the obituary of bitcoin, it's been said many times as dead. (https://99bitcoins.com/bitcoin-obituaries/)

I'm not sure why there's a big fuss over the Tesla news. Its not that significant, and smells like improving their PR rather than anything substantial, or highlighting a flaw in Bitcoin. I've not seen any data which suggests Bitcoin is more detrimental to the environment than other industries. However, if anyone has some decent data then I'd be interested in reading it. We know that Bitcoin fundamentally needs high levels of processing power, especially when the block rewards/fees are so high. However, that means nothing to me, when you look at several other industries which produce high levels of coal or whatever.

I'd like to see a comparison to the amount of resources used by fiat currencies, as I don't think that will be low either especially with the amount of money that gets moved around.

Although, to get to your question the vast majority of people will be using Bitcoin as an investment, and will later cash out into fiat currencies. That's unfortunately how its being used currently. Although, its perfectly viable to use as a currency.
