I liked the article, its a myth all games need blockchains and then it will change the world.
Games with digital items would benefit the most of it.

So are these blockchain games really games or just something named "games"? Is it really interesting to play?

i only know that blockchain games only exists as dapps and they are basically to generate pleasure and tokenise it as an incentive to encourage further usage of the dapp by the global community of games and also it keeps the project lively and innovative by updating and upgrading the game dapps.

Blockchain games are quite popular now. But those who plays this game are belong from crypto ecosystem. We don't have many general people in the gaming community. Blockchain games are still in very early stage and the graphics or mechanism is too easy. And if you take gambling or card game or jackpot games as real games then yes gambling kind of games are all over the market. I played some of them crypto kittes is one of them I like that game. But when I shifted to Eos based game they I amazed they have lots of games and I liked many of those. And Eos knights is one of my favourite game. They are launching more game day by day. So I think this whole Blockchain gaming ecosystem has a very good future.

I am not too familiar with blockchain games but what I know about it is that there are not much difference between blockchain games and the normal games we have already, the only difference is that users who play this games with each other online get rewarded with blockchain tokens or coin which can be later withdrawn by this users to an exchange and can then be swapped for other coins, you get paid playing blockchain games.

There are ARG games that was released months ago, I do assume you all heard of RealityClash. I did invest on this project but weren't an achiever at all even after all the efforts done by the team. Ready Player One like game would be good only if adoption already happen. I guess the only games that are going to be profitable in blockchain are the ones related to gambling.

TRX and EOS dapps had all those games actually, you may have to visit dappradar to see it all.

Blockchain "Games" are all just gambling.
I haven't seen even one legitimate game.
There are basically only 2 types.

The first "game" is just a ponzi scheme that is labeled a game.
There's a lottery/raffle type system and if you pitch in your crypto you have a chance to win.
Often, they say the earlier you get in and the more you put in the better chances of winning.
You get bonuses for referring people too.
Obviously, this isn't a game at all, but a lottery/ponzi type scheme.

The other "game" is the type that is obviously basic gambling.
You pay for a random chance at a reward.
Whether that be slots, picking pictures, a platformer, doesn't matter because essentially it is all just chance.

Well, I've been playing Steem Monsters quite often on the Steem blockchain.
I think I've put close to 100 hours of time into it, investing around $200 and now I'm at around $700 profit.

Aside from that, I've also looked into Drugwars on Steem, that's not really my thing though.
Not a big fan of the game mechanics of that particular game.

We all know cryptokities probably.

Blockchain games are fun but shouldn't clog the network. Otherwise fun of some people turning into hate.

Do you play blockchain games? And what do you know about them?

I have been dealing with a few projects on this issue. But I guess it would be better for me to be busy with trade. Besides, in the projects I was interested in, I could not find the better games I could play.

The only thing I know that there are plenty of different projects that are aiming to combine blockchain and gaming industries. As far as I remember the most popular was crypto kitties that had a lot of hype around a year ago.

Well, there is nothing so special about blockchain games, it is not any different than the regular game you play in your houses. The difference between blockchain games and normal games is that with normal games you can play for hours and days without making any money and that is a big waste of time since time is the biggest asset anyone can ever have in life, but the reverse is the case for blockchain games because you actually make money while playing them which is very cool.

Blockchain games are gaining attention due to its irresistible feature of "provably fair" which is not at all possible or were not implemented in traditional gambling houses.

I don't know about most of the blockchain games. But I've seen some projects early 2016-2017 that there were some ICOs that focuses with blockchain game except with the well known cryptokitties and of same genre.

IIRC, those projects are 'augmented reality' games.

The development of the blockchain has triggered various types of applications, including online games that are now wrapped in blockchain. Why do I have to use the blockchain system? A decentralized system with the latest technology can really make users and game developers feel benefited. From the developer side, cheating on games can be minimized. While from the user side, blockchain games can be used as economic added value.
So, online gaming in the future will have an impact on the benefits of each user. Where users will benefit from additional income or digital currency. This money can be traded in crypto exchanges and its value is expected to increase in accordance with market share. Game blockchain generally uses Crypto Ethereum or uses ERC20 tokens.

I don't know about blockchain games because I often spend time in claiming free coins and participating in campaign bounties, so for the blockchain game I don't know it, and now I will start to learn it too.

blockchain games could be even more profitable than bounties
