I'm not so interested in airdrop, many of them provide little prizes in their bounty pool. unless I want to invest in it, I will follow the airdrop to find out more about their ICO

I avoid airdrops that request any kind of donation.  Automatic nope.  I'll consider almost anything else.  Having said that, I don't participate in every airdrop I see because I don't want to spam my twitter followers with non-stop airdrops.  I have to be selective.  So if the project has some merit (I know that's a little vague), has an established presence on social media and a half-way decent website I'll probably go for it.

I'll see if they put a ton of effort in it. It's most likely legit and ambitious if you see one. Never been wrong with looking at that aspect.

Is there really anything to look for in airdrops? A scatter gun approach to airdrops is the best because it doesnt really matter what you pick up because its all free. Sign up to as many and you might hit one that does something and you'll get a few $$. I have a number of airdropped coins in various wallets and have no idea how they got there but i'm not complaining. Best was probably XLM which i shifted after it mooned. It would take a fair amount to have me actually look at what a project was/did.

If you mean bounty campaigns then that is a little different, as there can genuinely be some work involved with those. Profitability is a hard thing to assess before something has even got off the ground and everything needs to be at most an educated guess. I've only participated in 1 bounty and just signed up to a second. I looked for projects that I liked the team, the idea and believed that the use case was worth while. I also invested in these campaigns and therefore used the bounty to boost my holdings.

In general, i have a good understanding on how most ICO's and airdrop coins operate on these forums. But to really understand the perspectives of users, specficially the newer users who've just entered digital currency. Some of you have diverging views on how coins should be distributed and what you want/desire from airdrop infrastructure is a bit more difficult to understand.

What do you look for in airdropped coins, and why? Obviously profitability is the underlining tone to every airdrop, but there's more to it than just that.

This thread's purpose is to promote Nevra (XEV) and the original ideals of distributing a digital currency. https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/nevra-xev-project-is-terminated-2917461
