An ICO pool is a collection of investor funds, pooled together with the sole intention of investing in an ICO. Pools are typically overseen by person who manage the contributions made by each investor.

Do you think this is a good idea?Is it worth it to trust??

UPD:

MyWish is eliminating these risks by introducing Smart Contracts for ICOpools.

The idea behind pool is very noble. However, just like any great idea, it also subject to being abused. Pool has given many people access to participate in projects who cancelled their public sale.

Dear all,
Yeah, the pool investment is the goal only. If the management team is strong, that goal maybe reach, if not this is fail. So, the pool is not sure. Up to the method, the market and the trust of development team, we will realize it.

ICOpools can be very risky especially if you dont know personally the people who runs it. But sometimes I take the risks for the chance to get sure allocation for a very great project. It's nice to know you have an idea to eliminate the risks in pooling. But can you explain further how?

I wouldn't invest in such pools because you can't make decision and when they fail it gets worse than you predict.
Its your choice. I think all decision will bring its own risk so take this or that is not a matter because we are looking for the best thing for us. Pool i think better not in the smart contract but maybe in legal company that already has legal license.

I would not trust the program to eliminate the risks of investing in the ICO. If everyone with ICO would be smooth, the number of new ICO would be 10 times the current level.

I think one about the considerable headway in crypto is that everybody can contribute and put resources into ICO regardless of the speculation estimate, so I truly don't see much point in joining a pool, there's most likely a greater number of dangers than benefits

More of investors are going with the flow of where there are many investing in an ICO's, together pooling investments is a typically good idea but many are taking big risk thats why their more converned of their money so they need to think twice..

This does not come off as a good idea at all. Given that this is a decentralized market, there are issues regarding trust. There are possibilities of being scammed and also being ripped off. Also there needs to be the presence of strict rules and regulations in order to have a good management.

Even with those kind of changes I still have doubts with this kind of investment.
I'd rather do it directly and let the trust of other investors go with it. If you really made a good research about one project then investors will be coming in without questions. There is no need for pooling it and it will still grow. iCO's dont require large amount of money to buy tokens in minimum, .1ETH is okay.

I feel investing into such Investment pool carries a high rate of risk because you might be scammed with no one to query if your funds is absconded with. On the other side, this practice is one of the most greatest and welcoming idea which may makes such pool reaches the soft cap to success timely, if and only if there are known and trusted pool Managers in the deal.

I think that such idea is not good. In this market we cannot easily trust anyone since it is a decentralized market. More to have a trust on management, strong rules and regulation with effective board is needed. I do not think that this will be a good idea.

As much as I know, ICO pools tend to gather people who are potential is seeking to participate in pre-sales of ICO. There are two types of ICO- Trustless and the Non-trustless ones. The only problem with the pools are that they cannot guarantee if they can fulfill the task and also that it is not a scam.

Most of the ICOs are scam and this idea of investment pool for ICO's?

There's only few words I'll say if someone is truly believing with this type of investing and it is "good luck".

Why not just hold your own fund and decide on your own so if you fail, you can blame yourself and learn from that mistake.

And also don't stay to ICOs, learn trading.

is still very risky, because there is no guarantee of all that will happen to icopool, for example a scam project. if it does not meet the target and fails, I think that is common in investment, but if the project is scam, no one can accept it.
When the projeck does not reach the softcap that they have previously determined, the funds will be returned to the investor. but sometimes they also do a new policy if the funds that have been collected have approached the previous targetsm, the policy is different. every project

In fact, investment pools have more positive moments than negative ones, but among the negative there is a scam that can cross out all the pluses. Trust or not to professional traders, everyone decides for himself.I prefer to dispose of my deposit myself. If I fail, at least I will get a very important experience that will help me in the future. If investment pool fail, I will get nothing

It is prone to being scammed. I can't trust my funds to anyone. Well, I don't think it is better than just investing by my own - sending ETH from my ETH wallet which I have full controls. In this world full of scammers, better close this idea.

It might be a good idea, but we should have some security issues and have to had an extreme confidence in the manager of the pool, it would be ideal to develop a smart contract or a Dapp to do it automatically, example: Ask each participant X amount of coins to ensure Y % of participation in the pool, good idea but it lacks development

It's a very good idea. Actually i joined a group on telegram about ICO pool and all the members are trusted each other and the admin there is very trusted and all the members are from the same country. The most important think on ICO pool is trust, if the admin of the pool is not trusted, no one will join the pool.
It depends on the selected ICO project, if the ICO project has a large community that has great potential to increase over the next year, I agree ICO project developers and invest on ICO pool very trusted. But if the ICO project still new, and has a small community then I would advise against too much with their deceit.

If the project side is a trustworthy and reliable person, then I think that no matter what management method is trustworthy, many ICO project parties initially aim to scam, so no matter what method they take, I think they are all countermeasures. Participating in the ICO must be clear to the team members

As far I know for pre sale and private sell ICO project apply minimum value. It’s a obstacle for the retails investors because they did not made the big deal. I think there are some investment pools that permit investor for big deal. So I think its not bad actually. But never trust someone over internet.

In any business you must have trust on the projects or person affiliated with such business. In such case, if you find any pool not worthy for trust but the project is quite interesting, I would recommend going for a minimum investment to test the pools loyalty.

Investment pools seems a good idea, up until and unless you don't know or are not aware of the people you are creating the pool with. They should have the authenticity and pure purpose of bringing in benefits for you. Hence, proper knowledge on your investment pool and their authenticity is vital to judge on the returns

I think it investing your money together with other people to create a big amount and bigger gains. It's good but risky at the same, especially you dont know the people holding your investment. There is also a greater chance of fraud and scam. If you want this kind of investing , it should be better to know the company or the people behind it.

We have to trust people who manage a common pool of our investments, if we want to make money on this. Although there are cases of fraud.
I'd rather to invest on my own than to trust anyone who I really don't know personally. This can be a kind of ponzi scheme who is gathering some fund and run after they make good money. Be careful on joining in this kind of strategy, learn from the mistakes of the other and make a lot of research before you join them.

Ya it is a good idea because their are persons who are having funds to invest but they dont where to invest and their are persons who have full details of where to invest but no funds so when this both join then both can earn it. Last year one of my friend asked about bitcoin and how much to invest. That time he also told that his friends are also willing to invest but have no idea how to do it. So it was planned that everyone is going to invest equally and my friend is going to manage. in Last year peak their funds raised to more then 150% and they sold it at 110% as my friend saw the selling pressure.

so this way Investment Pool can work but the risk is fully on the Pool runner, who have to be alert on all aspects and not to be greedy so that no loss occur.

I rather research ICO by pool and take personal decisions to invest or not and then i put in my money by myself. that is how i roll

usually, ICO projects apply minimum investment values in their private sales or pre-sales, the minimum value of investment is a barrier for retail investors to get the best deals (big discounts on private sales and pre-sales), IMO, investment pools is a good idea to overcome that problem and allows retail investors to get the best deals, trustworthy or not it depends on the reputation of any investment pools

I'm concerned about non-Trustless ICOpools what don't utilize smart contracts, but instead mandate that the collection of investor funds be done by icopool managers. Investors send funds to an ethereum address specified by the icopool mangers, who then have the responsibility of sending those funds to the ico address. So it's difficult to trust someone with own investments, even if not a big.
