Crypto Swap Exchange
I don't see anything wrong since there are people who actually experience that and looks like they really know what they're talking about.

But they shouldn't call it cryptocurrency addict, but trading addict or trading-gambling addict since few non-crypto traders might experience same problem. Maybe they will add ICO/token addict as well Tongue

There are lots of different people. Some are so weak, they need rehab almost for everything. Some are so strong, they don't get addicted to casinos or other easily addicted things.

I am alive but in hibernation.
I found this article and was a bit confused about why is this used. I don't think people are crypto addicts. What do you think about this?

Yes, people can be addict to anything not only to crypto. I myself now become addicted to crypto. Before joining this forum I used to be very active in facebook, Wishing everybody promptly. very much updated with everybody life.

Now, I rarely/never login to facebook. I do not bother to check the notification that says somebody tagged me in photo. some commented on my photo.
somebody mentioned me in the post ,etc . etc ........

Anyway, I am not still trading addict but it definitely changed my internet browsing habits.

Crypto trading has the same traits as gambling and could get quite addictive to unsuspecting victims. And with the boom of crypto markets any average joe underage gamer in possession of a few mining rigs has free unrestricted access 24/7 to anonymous exchanges trying to flip coins chasing profit. Heck I have even heard about a 9 y.o girl going to rehab for getting addicted to playing Fortnite.

I think the Rehab is really needed for some people, I have friends that have invested all their life saving on bitcoin last year 2017, those guys are not getting insane, a rehab option will really do well for them.

Yes sometime crypto investors start to invest all they have in crypto like I have heard someguy have even sold all his property and living in tent while investing all he have got for his property in bitcoin.  Shocked

Those people are living a homeless life while waiting for sudden surge on bitcoin's price again which might take years. So I like this idea of rehab for crypto addicts..

Don't let others control your BTC -> self custody
I don't think people are crypto addicts.

Believe me, they are. There are people addicted to every single thing that they possibly can be addicted to. There are people addicted to chewing gum, trading stocks, posting on facebook... I bet there are people addicted to this forum. I could even think of a couple names Wink
Should there be a rehab? Sure. I think if there are people that need help, someone should provide this help. If a fear of the investment going down the drain makes you lose sleep maybe you should find another hobby or seek help.

I'm surprised it's not more prevalent, and it probably actually is.

It combines a multitude of things people are already addicted to in isolation - internet, gambling, social media. Put them together and it's an extremely potent combo.

That said, you can have the combination of all those things in equities as well. With leveraged derivatives, the volatility could easily exceed that of cryptocurrencies. Gamblers will be gamblers; if they didn't bet on cryptocurrencies, they would bet on football or horses.

No rehabilitation as that is their bloodline business minded doing of such things that came make them happy they don't think the losses as they are making fun of it, well gaiming is part of the technology and can throw away stress continue with the flows of bitcoin this is much better of other gaiming system.

The speed and the stakes may be comparable, but not the drama or the 24/7 global nature. And there's everyone's hopes of an early adopter style bonanza that stock trading will never have.

And I'm willing to bet that 95-99% of 'traders' in crypto have never been anywhere near a stock market nor would the idea ever occur to them.

It absolutely is. When I started trading cryptocurrency in 2013, it hit all those same spots that online poker did -- except it was more powerful. I had alarms blaring at all hours of the night (my girlfriend hated me for it), and it was an emotional roller coaster almost 24/7.

Fortunately, that subsided after a year or two, and I take everything in stride now. Only occasional trading now. Most people can probably shake it off, but we're in a whole new world combining immediate gratification with volatile finance. Some people are gonna get their wires crossed from it.

The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition (DSM-5) is the universal authority for psychiatric diagnoses. The criteria for a "Gambling Disorder" can be viewed here.

Simply replace the word "gamble" with "buy/trade/track cryptocurrency", and you have yourself a pretty accurate set of criteria to judge a crypto addict.

The thinks that Crypto trading is same as Gambling , Actually they link word - cryptocurrency addicts. with each other.

“cryptocurrency users can get hooked by the volatile fluctuation of prices online which creates a ‘high’ when they buy or trade a winning currency” and that “this can be exciting but also addictive and … financially disastrous.”

Here Its clear , when we buy Or trade something When price was high and made some gain.  they relate this thing as Gamblers

I dont think ao its true

So how do you know if you are addicted? According to Castle Craig, answering yes to five or more of the following 10 questions indicates a problem:

Do I spend a lot of time thinking about different types of cryptocurrency?
Am I spending large amounts on cryptocurrency?
Have I tried to slow down or completely stop cryptocurrency trading — but not been able to?

In the end of post they also states that

Gambling addicts are just that — gambling addicts. They can choose any addiction they want, and it can be cryptocurrencies, but that doesn’t mean that a majority of cryptocurrency traders are addicts.

Some people have serious problem now due to price down
