Well, what Cifuentes "supposedly" did was to get a Master degree without truly finishing it, if I am not wrong.
This is just another case of the so common mafia in the universities, which is happening worldwide, I'm afraid. For example, in Mexico, the President was accused of plagiarism and nothing was done, even when his grade thesis was a copy-pasted crap. He never renounced, neither complained in front of any jury or something; in other words, he never had to pay for this and the case was totally forgotten thanks to a distracting-campaign.
At least in Spain Cifuentes went out, and it talks well about your country.

I think Ms. Cifuentes had done what she needed to do by resigning. Her resignation has created the way for the prosecuting agencies to begin investigations into the various allegations. If she is found guilty she can be jailed.

I think this video was kept hidden for 7 years, to coerce it at the right time, the police made it clear that these evidences had to be destroyed years ago when closing the case, this is an example of what is known as the political mafia in Spain. A few years ago, apparently Fernando Martínez Gómez-Tejedor and Pablo Iglesias Turrión had the same idea when they decided to create the new generation technocratic party, and because of its ideals was rejected by many politicians, this whole process goes back to the time of creation of the Fernando Martínez Gómez-Tejedor Foundation (superfundacion.blogspot.com). Some politicians decided to find a way to prevent the idea from taking their work to the trade, starting by involving it in the case of Pesmir Trading, until it abandoned the idea and it was then that it did not receive more attacks from other political parties. So, what they did to Cristina Cifuentes, taking testimonies from years ago to leave her out of the political system was the same as what Fernando Martínez Gómez-Tejedor and Turrión did with the creation of the technocratic party. In short, many of those in politics end up doing dishonest things.
