No one knows for sure (with any degree of certainty). Having said that, most agree the future is bright. That statement does have a few caveats. The following is my prediction:

Bitcoin itself as a protocol will evolve. Many people forget the simple fact that it is a protocol first and the money part just happens to be the first app written over it. Think of it like the Netscape browser written for (predominantly) HTTP. It was good at its time, but then other browsers took the mantle and Netscape was dethroned. The same analogy could apply to bitcoins (the money). It could be dethroned and for all we know Dogecoin or Litecoin could prevail.

The Buying process of Bitcoins will have to be made much more simpler than it is at present. All indications point that the process will get more streamlined, so buying bitcoins will be an easy task.
In most countries (US included), companies that trade Bitcoins onto the local currency would be regulated. More exchange companies will mushroom.

Until and unless Buyers keep pressing / asking Merchant to accept Bitcoins, merchants will be oblivious to the demand. If you walk into a store and ask if they accept Bitcoins and they answer No, this is the expected answer. Repeat this scenario with 10 other Buyers asking the same and the Merchant will think differently. They just might start looking at Bitcoin acceptance.

Bitcoin have a great future, some of the top countries in the world are already looking into cryptocurrency which non of them has condemn the system

Bitcoin and alt coin in about 10 years will be very very Costly, And this is the one who make our dream come true just because bitcoin can help us a lot from our needs and daily needs, And i absolutely commend this bitcoin for they do to my entire life.

I'm new to bitcoin. Few countries allow bitcoin transactions because the government does not profit from it.

I'm sure more and more people will know about bitcoin.

Bitcoin is the first mover in the market and there is no reason to believe that Bitcoin will not be a leader over the next decade because the growth of this market has inherent positive feed-back loops.

As the market grows in size the developers who believe in the durability of Bitcoin in the long term have more funds, and time to invest in technological improvements.

Personally, I think bitcoin will raise more as more demand comes and once the regulations are set in different countries, people will have a clear indication on how to use bitcoins. So more or less, it is going to be a investment thing but this time it is constant across the planet unline stocks.

I think bitcoin in near future will will probably increase in demand, and some who have account on it will make bitcoin as they number passive income statement and eventually they will use this as a source for investments and trade for selling and buying of goods or products.

I think it will keep rising for many years. Once crytpo currency is more widely adopted, there will be better technologies that will arise that will slowly push bitcoin out and make it obsolete. 

I think BTC will be acknowledge worldwide even here in Philippines, for they will be curios enough to Accredited for they will advance to the Trend .

Bitcoin and altcoin in about 10 years will be very very valuable, now we see the beginning of the birth of bitcoin at a price of $ 1 in 2009 but now has reached $ 14,000 in 2018 is not this something very unusual.

Bitcoin needs to reduce fees ASAP. Btc dominance is at its lowest. Without it, I don't see future of Bitcoin.

Bitcoin price will be lower than ETH next year.

It's popular because it's an innovation in digital world and also it is not tied to any bank or currency. It gives you a great chances and opportunities.

Bitcoin offers new opportunities: smart contracts, multipages and other achievements of progress for the convenience of business and users. You can create a transaction with the guarantor, when, for example, requires two of three signatures to complete the transaction. Smart contracts allow you to set more complex conditions for operations. All of these features are in demand and will give impetus to further development of the cryptocurrency. Everything will be fine!

Bitcoin will be present years from now in my opinion. All the FUD is just nonsense^^ I cant see it crashing or anything anytime soon xD just be patient and see it rising long term ~peace

in my opinion, this bitcoin is a good job for my future.
because this job can be long or long term, it may be up to my grandchildren ..

Future of Bitcoin will be much brighter in 10 years, accaptabily of BTC will be far more than what it has today. As it is the base of all crytos, BTC will have its space always in the market.

It's here to stay, although, I can see it taking another whack, before it starts climbing like a demon again from the summertime.

I see a brighter future for bitcoin, it will be the money for the next era because we are now in the digital era.

Bitcoin as a great innovation in virtual currency, I think it is still possible for a long time. Its value rests on the memory of the virtual currency pioneer and the huge bubble it produced, just as someone had a collection of old computers that could not run.

Bitcoin is one of crypto currency created in this digital age to replace the conventional currency. Bitcoin is the currency of the future. Do you think in the future we still use the paper money.

Bill Gates says Bitcoin is a technological tour de force. it means that cryptocurrency is a great technological achievement.

Cryptocurrency itself is the future

For because bitcoin is fast-growing and maintains it's popularity that even some governments wanted to ban it. Btc's future cannot be interrupted. It is uncotrollable. There is nothings gonna change the value of btc into zero.

bitcoin has set a future trend for global economy which was inevitable and unavoidable.the major question that hangs is who will take a major share in the market among the stakeholders. The businesses that will resist cryptocurrencies will lag behind considering the speed with which cryptocurrencies  have enabled transactions.SO BITCOIN IS THE FUTURE.

Surprise Surprise my friend , no body knows what will happen in future. But one thing is for sure it will set a new era new trend.

Bitcoin exists only because it has a first mover advantage. No doubt it was good tech but now the Bitcoin core has messed it up. BTC exists only because alts don't have any other pairs for trading, but slowly this will change. We have ETH now, BCH also. BTC has become a dinosaur no doubt due to its core Devs. Ideas are flushed out of the room. Every once in a while there is fork of BTC. Its actually sad to see but BTC will fade a die slowly.

I do not know, maybe the other coin will rival the bitcoin price

Well, nobody really knows what will happen to Bitcoin even few years from now. We just need to be vigilant on what's happening on the market to safeguard our investments. But I do hope that it will still recover to the million mark after few years.

Real cryptocurrency will be determined by its value as a functioning currency and that is what will drive adaptation. No one knows for sure. Think of it like the Netscape browser written for HTTP. Hello everyone, considering that Bitcoin is the original cryptocurrency and protected by the block chain, and the need for investors to place their capital, it is clear that it will always be a very profitable alternative for any investor. 

Currently bitcoin is located at a value much lower than it was several weeks ago, this is greatly influenced by altcoin and high rates of bitcoin transactions, however, bitcoin is a cryptocurrency to invest in the long term, for this reason is very likely to rise quickly at any time, it is an experiment, and it is just beginning. Therefore a great future is expected in this cryptocurrency.

You never know. They are doing a lot to make it a better coin but so is the competition. I've personally switched to Ethereum for my top coin.

Well at least the Russian government seems pretty supportive..

I'm new to this world so I obviously have a personal interest to see it continue to flourish!!!

Honestly, it will be a game changer eventually.  The governments will get in the way and trip it up some but it will eventually percolate through that rubbish.

I don't know specifically about BTC but the blockchain technology is extremely powerful and here to stay

crypto is only used by tiny % of worlds population which is apparently less than 1 %, imagine how much the value will increase if more and more people get engaged within no time it will be many trillion $ market!

The future of Bitcoin is potentially bright given that the lightning network really helps bring down the congestion and fees as a result. Bitcoin's value will skyrocket and price always follows where demand is high.

Bitcoin may be the leader of digital money!

I think BTC is going to "hit the world" why? Cause today is digital era. Everything today is slowly move to "virtual". Years ago people read news from a paper, nowadays people can read news from internet thats also virtual.

As technology advances, it is inevitable that banknotes will rise, and the result of banknotes will be more frequent use of electronic money. Bitcoin will definitely have a place in the future. One of the most important is the electronic currency.

bitcoin is one of the latest currency variants. therefore, people still have difficulty in using bitcoin, although in recent years the development of bitcoin has been so fast.
I hope on the future this currency can improve people's lives and make trading more efficient and easy.

Well base on what i've seen on this site/group most replys from pro's/experienced people  about the same question has the same thoughts.
Bitcoin or Altcoins is extremely volatile, there is no assurance that it will keep rising as what other people thought so.
so i guess its safe to say that it's much better for us not to set so much expectation for it instead why dont we just try to learn on how to adjust each days/months/years changes that might happen and so then after 10 years we can still manage to ride the waves weather its Big or not.

Best time to invest in Bitcoins was until the beginning of 2017 and to sell it before mid-2018 to play safe and make money.
Not everyone on this planet can be rich at the same time. It is usually a bubble when lower-middle class start investing in something and make money without studying the market.

very few countries allow transaction in bitcoin as the government do not get any vat from it. So if this problem is solved then probably the future of the bitcoin is very much secure!

If other factors, such as emerging rivals, regulation and global expansion, are taken into account, bitcoin will be more likely to exist than other undurable innovations.
