Putin seems to be a sort of benevolent dictator, but Russia definitely needed a strongman to clean-up all that mess what was left behind after the Yeltsin era. Anyway, who cares as long as the majority of Russians like him.

Yes, I also thought about this. There is a Russian saying: "Live with wolves - howl like a wolf" (-: Putin rules, surrounded by wolves and other predators. And of course this leaves a certain imprint on his style of government.

There are some signs of dictatorship, but for all purpose Russia is a democracy. But recently they prevented the opposition leader Navalny from contesting the elections. That should have never happened in a democratic society. Everyone should be given a chance to contest the elections.

Yes that's right. I do not really like the program of Navalny (I'm also from Russia). But what's happening I do not like even more.
