You can invest in Forex, there are always good possibilities, if you know what to do  Wink

I am thinking of doing that, don't know much about it but a friend suggested it to me who does this and I am not quite sure yet.

Oil should be one of the best choices. Some Forex PAMM accounts made me 30%+ last year. I have been investing also with a private BVI FX fund since 2013 and it showed very good returns last year.

As for Bitcoin, we all should wait and see what happens within the next few month and then there may be a good time to buy.

I think oil can only really go up at this point in time, but for me my money is on bitcoin personally. I just think it's only a matter of time before it gains more traction in the mainstream.

I second whoever mentioned p2p lending on the first page as a possibility.

In 2014 I made about 12% on my p2p loan portfolio (pretty much tied the s&p 500). Once people realise that p2p lending is here to stay and will grow fast we could see a speculative bubble form in p2p lending stocks (with lendingclub being the best in my oponion). It could be similar to the 3d printing bubble, led by DDD. Now i am unsure if this will happen in 2015, but if it will happen, i imagine it will be within the next 3 years.

Of course a lot of crypto could go up massively, but I am not risking anything on alts until btc looks like it is about to turn, and even then ill just hold bitcoin.

Oil is a definite possibility, but as everyone else is saying, perhaps too many people are thinking the same way.

If the US stock market were to falter, USD would be one of the best investments you could make, but I am holding my index funds and will probably buy more. I imagine the US stock market will continue up, and would invest there as opposed to anywhere else. (I could be biased since I am in the US)

I do not believe in precious metals very much, look how long it took the gold/silver bubble in the early 1980s to deflate (look at a graph showing the price in inflation adjusted dollars). Personally I am tempted to open a small short position on gold.

Hmm... I'm sure there are other things i was looking at but they can't come to mind right now  Undecided

Im with oil too, plus lots of russian related assets that will recover along with oil. Also never count out metals and even dollar, it's always a safe home, it recovers when you think it's dead.

Ofc Bitcoin is always a solid long term option.

Wait for a few months to get a clear picture of Bitcoin. I think it may get out of the bear market in the 2nd half of this year, but by then it may have fallen so much that the overall gain this year will not be much.

Nobody can predict what will be the best investment for 2015.
If I had to invest in something I would for sure not follow the foolish crowd strategy: Oil and Russian ruble.  Grin

The best investment will be something none of us have even heard of, just like most things that get big they always start off small and the visionaries who got in early reap the rewards. Let's hope thats us with bitcoin at some point.

I think that oil is looking like a solid opportunity in 2015.

Lol. Who actually invests in oil? I'd obviously like to say bitcoin, but maybe not for next year, but definitely for the next 2-3 or so. I think bitcoin need some time to get its foot in the door and industries to adopt it, but once it does you can expect it to climb rapidly.
There 2 btc, btc useless (stable price, @ 300$ with high volume) btc profitable (rally price @ 400-1000)
I prefer btc profitable
(these prices are a example, i want say low price and high price)

I think gas & oil is the best invesments for 2015

So does everybody... That's what scares me about it...
How come?

Because the price is still falling despite the overwhelming public perception that it's a great buy. It shows that the oil market is completely out of touch with the overwhelming majority and that means the price of oil was artificially high to begin with. Common sense tells people that oil is going to increase in price by at least 100% and easily double our investments, but using this type of common sense is financial suicide in practice because if it were true, the market would rebound very quickly which it hasn't done...

I'm not saying that it won't go back up to $100 a barrel because I for one expect it to, I'm saying that the risk of jumping in to catch a falling knife is very high when "common sense" tells you to buy. Something isn't right about it and for the price to further decline during a "fire sale" is a sign of trouble ahead.

Who knows!

Not too many people saw the Oil drop coming (especially the shale industries or the economies of canada etc). Its way beyond my understanding.

But anyways, I guess 2015 will see a continuation of currency wars as the world tries to 'steal' its way out of deflation; politicans need to arrest the slide to win votes, at the expense of others.

Financial warring will see geo political plays be the order of the day as power struggles erupt over $USD & Asia Pacific regions.

I'll also guess that a Venezuela or Eastern European country defaults.

How to invest against this backdrop is anyone's guess; USD probably strong as fleeing capital & deflationary pressures cripple Emerging markets.

I agree that oil is a great investment and can easily appreciate 100%, but I'm inclined to say that silver would be a better investment. I don't believe the price of oil can collapse by 50% without causing major damage to the rest of the economy which will likely become evident as the year goes on. Considering the potential for another 2008 style crash or worse, I'm betting on silver because I anticipate a much higher demand in the near future...

Nobody knows what will happen but I think the potential for a crash is uncomfortably high. The majority of the economy is worse off than it was in 2007 (greater wealth distribution gap, higher cost of living, smaller middle class, less full-time employment, more debt, the list goes on and on) and yet the stock market is higher. If you couldn't see the last bubble, this one should be obvious...

I think that oil is looking like a solid opportunity in 2015.
I would happen to agree with you there... Do you therefore think that other commodities will follow?
I think some commodities have the capability to rebound in a limited fashion (20-40%) but not as much as oil (70-100%).
Fair analysis...
