I like him too.  He is a straight shooter.  What he says actually makes sense.

World needs more people like him, freethinkers who can progress humanity.

He is currently on a book tour to promote his new book. He is coming to Seattle on May 10.

I bought a ticket to see his talk.

Jordan Peterson is great. He prods people to seek truth and challenges politically correct but false ideas with facts and empirical reality.

He is hated because he is so successful in unmasking the false ideologies of his opponents and hated for his resistance to the usual methods used to silence and intimidate people.

The result is attacks like the one you witnessed. Pointless name calling illogical mud slinging with the hope that something sticks.

If you have not watched it yet Jordan Peterson's interview/inquisition by Cathy Neuman is really something.

I'm unsure of the rules regarding posting on my own topic to continue to try to get a response from new people, if someone sees this that knows, please let me know if I shouldn't be doing this.

The guidelines on this kind of thing are generally it is frowned upon to double-post. Although, bumping your own threads once every 24-hours is perfectly fine. You delete the bump posts before you post a new bump post, so that you don't flood your own thread.

I think that's how it works on this board, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

13. Bumps, "updates" are limited to once per 24 hours

21. Old bumps should be deleted.

32. Posting multiple posts in a row (excluding bumps and reserved posts by the thread starter) is not allowed.

ye ole' Rulebook. If you haven't yet, I would definitely take a peek : https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/unofficial-list-of-official-bitcointalkorg-rules-guidelines-faq-703657

You're probably right.  I still feel there is value to be had from learning from their perspective, as potentially skewed as it may be.  If nothing else hopefully I can show him a thing or two about Jordan Peterson that shows how much of a decent human being the guy is.  He never seems malicious at all in anything I've seen of him, and lord knows if it was out there someone would already be showcasing it for all the world to see.

Right, I understand how it can be presented I just wanted to hopefully have a conversation with someone about it who actually feels that way.  The dude clearly isn't a nazi to me, and I'm looking to be convinced.

Good luck, if you find him, 99.9% chance he won't have a discussion with you.

He uses facts.
The left doesn't like facts.
Therefore he's a nazi.

I mean, anyone with some logic in them viewing things going on in the US is going to realize that anyone who doesn't support the leftist media narrative is declared a nazi.

It doesn't matter who you are, what you do, it matters if you're a socialist or not.
And since mostly white males aren't socialists, that's the group they target the most.

I should probably stay away from these subjects, they make my blood boil.

Peterson is a great psychologist and a good speaker. I love the opinions and the way he values things, Peterson hates identity politics, rails against postmodernism and "neo-Marxism", and hates gender studies and political correctness. She affirms the biological differences between men and women, and gives talks on how to live a meaningful life and how to find the right partner.

Jordan Peterson is a big influence for why I got my life somewhat together, or at least have started to view things in a way that is more motivating. Anyone that claims they are a Nazi is someone that is willing to accept the claims of others without verifying it for themselves. I don't find anything that he says to be controversial, unless you are simply offended by facts or certain mundane words.

He pretty much hates the far right and the far left, at least in terms of political spectrum.  That's purely based off watching a few of his videos.  He doesn't seem to like any level of extreme behavior that you typically find on the ends of the political spectrum.  I think he's a really interesting dude and I don't understand why people hate him so much.  I've already lost one friendship over it without getting any answers, other than vague gesturing at what seems like nothing.  If you have a chance check a few videos out and share your opinion here.  <3

Only seen a few vids of him on Youtube (no idea why they got recommended to me) and really don't know him that much too. He seems comfortable with rather controversial topics, like "Why do women fall for pirates and vampires?". Noticed that MGTOW guys do flock to these vids though which might give the impression that he's far right.

I recently had an argument with a friend of mine because he thinks Jordan is a soft nazi, his words not mine, and I asked him for proof of this.  This kind of dissolved into a ridiculous argument where I asked why he thought that way and he kept providing no evidence of such.  Now, I don't know a ton about Jordan, but he seems like a pretty stand up individual.  I've watched a few of his lectures and podcasts and things like that and I don't really understand why people hate this guy so much.  I was hoping to get an answer from my former friend but I don't think we're speaking anymore.  I'd really love to hear from anyone who knows why someone would consider this dude a nazi of any kind, as well as some sources of what made you think that way.  I appreciate the response!
