Why do people call it mount Gox then?

Probably once they became a bitcoin exchange, it was convenient to go along with it. MTGOX sounds like Mt. Gox, which sounds like Fort Knox. More than likely they wanted to keep the same domain and website to keep their users, and just by chance their old name sounded like one that would be the name of an exchange.

maybe gox can go back to trading Magic the gathering cards...  Smiley

They never traded "Magic the Gathering" cards. There's money in that. They traded "Magic the Gathering Online" cards.

mtgox=right place right time. I think the founder "magicaltux" should be called "luckytux".

I don't see much of a future for this exchange. Sure they are big but defiantly not the most innovative. And they seem to be loosing ground quick. There are many other exchanges that are poised to take over and fast!

Lets hope for 'tux's sake that he gets out without TOO much debt   Embarrassed

If I had coins or money on gox(and I don't) I would certainly be taking them/it elsewhere.

here is the wiki for some of them: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Category:Exchanges

There is also btct.co a bitcoin based stock exchange that is making some big waves..

maybe gox can go back to trading Magic the gathering cards...  Smiley
