It seems like there will always be hostility to blockchain technology and central banks. Even some countries also ban the circulation of cryptocurrencies due to high speculation. Ethereum 2.0 has no development at all, showing at least a little bit of results from ethereum 2.0 before talking to the president of Russia to make it look more real.

Will Ethereum's progress be jeopardised in any way? Is it possible that Vitalik will be reviled in Russia? He met with Putin to discuss cryptocurrency, but this new episode has me scratching my head as to what the Russian central bank is thinking.

If you are referring to the recent announcement of Russian Central Bank's announcement to ban cryptocurrency - it doesn't mean anything for ETH in particular. If Russia is providing an exit period to crypto holder, we will observe some sell pressure but that's it! That additional supply will be absorbed by the market and most probably a temporary impact will be seen. But nothing much. So chill!

Things happening in Russia will not be affecting Ethereum and Vitalik Buterin. Just because he is Russian does not mean anything on this regard. Not unless, of course, if Russia is holding Ethereum and it suddenly decides to let go of the digital asset...but no this is not the case. Russia is not a big market for Ethereum and am sure not many Russians are actually holding Ethereum. Now, will Vitalik be affected in case Russia will follow the move of China on cryptocurrency? The answer is NO since the guy is not doing business in Russia...in fact I would guess that Russia is actually proud of the many big things Vitalik has achieved so far.

What has the Russian banks done? I know very well that the last time I read about crypto regulation in Russia, It states that Russians are allowed to mine, trade and hold crypto currency of their choice, but the only thing that they were not allowed to do is to make use of it in purchasing things. So, basically cryptocurrency is allowed in Russia, except that it cannot be used for a purchase, unless maybe things have changed as of recent which I am not aware of? Even if there has been any form of change, I don’t think it would have any effect on Ethereum, because it is a decentralized platform.

Vitalik left Russia when he was 6, and has been a part of the safe, democratic Western world ever since. So why would he care or be affected by whatever the Russian government thinks of him or Ethereum? As for Ethereum 2.0, I now see there are estimates of the release sometime in 2022 or 2023, so, once again, there's no certainty when the move will happen, and I don't see what Russia has to do with it. Also, if they manage it in 2022, one of the things about 2.0 is moving to proof-of-stake, so with Russia potentially banning crypto mining, Ethereum 2.0 would actually be less affected than the current version.
Even if he was living in Russia, this wouldn’t be of any concern to him if the Russian bank decides to ban ethereum and other cryptocurrencies. Because he knows for sure that there is no way that this is going to affect the ethereum community/platform, or even affect him, the platform will continue to function as it is doing today. And that  as well doesn’t prevent the ethereum 2.0 from being launched.

And if it is going to affect him at all, then he has the money to leave Russia and relocate to another country and start living there. I like you said he already has left Russia since he was six, which means that he can live at anytime he wants. Without any much stress.

I don't see any correlation between the progress of Ethereum with Russia.

Central bank, not just in Russia are of course against crypto, including Bitcoin and Ethereum. But it doesn't mean that they can jeopardize any project. If they issue a ban then so be it, but the project will continue to move and maybe we can see the next iteration of Ethereum this year. I'm sure there will be one or two releases or even more for 2022. Specially improvement that will lessen the current gas fees.

Russia has a "Transparent Blockchain" platform that keeps track of all illegal crypto-operations. A lot of money has already been spent on it.
https://habr.com/ru/news/t/514660/
"Until now, the project has been developed at the expense of extrabudgetary funds, but in the future additional funding will be required. According to preliminary data, the development of the Transparent Blockchain will require 760 million rubles. from the federal budget: 440 million rubles. in 2021, 230 million rubles. in 2022 and 90 million rubles. in 2023, follows from the attachment to the letter."
One ministry says we can control everything, another ministry says it's impossible. We Russians are already used to this and do not pay attention to it.

Lol, that's Russia for me, total contradictory statement from their official including the President. At one time Vitalik and Putin are very close they even seen in public together. But now it seems that the Russian government is turning their backs on Vitalik and the rest of crypto market.

But as I have said in the beginning, take everything with a bag of salt on what the Russian government are saying about crypto because later they are going to retract everything about and in the next year or in the next bull run, they will embrace it.

Everyone knew whose Ally is Russia is. Probably they are plotting something like China did. Vitalik is from Russia, they should be proud about that the number 2 cryptocurrency is made by their countrymen. Im not sure what will be their move but surely this is just a plot only and possible play for business agenda of course.

There is more news associated with cryptocurrency ban years back, but Russia didn't make anything perfect in terms of regulation, adoption and acceptance. This is the very first time Russian government is making plans for the ban over the mining of cryptocurrency. As of now the market is in the decline for various reasons. This can be a correction, and there were more news similar to the ban from different countries. So, Russia's plan won't make a big impact on the market.

Will Ethereum's progress be jeopardised in any way?
It will not. To be honest as long as a project already dominated the market and that will be so difficult the progress that already made by this major platforms will be jeopardised.

Is it possible that Vitalik will be reviled in Russia?
It's not possible. Vitalik has become one of big guy in the world and he has a very good influence to others and his followers as well. Vitalik may have a business with vitalik as russia's president. We know that russia can use ethereum as well.

He met with Putin to discuss cryptocurrency, but this new episode has me scratching my head as to what the Russian central bank is thinking.
Russian central bank is having opposite opinion compared with the russian federation. Puttin is seeing crypto in different perspective compared with russian central bank. It's not only central bank but all of central banks are feeling worry if crypto will disrupt their system. that's why central bank russia was banning crypto

It seems like this is only for a while because as long as there are big investors who believe in cryptocurrencies, there will always be new surprises coming into the crypto space even though for now the market is really sinking very deeply.

What episode? Are you talking about the proposal to ban crypto mining and investment? If so, I don't think it will have an effect on Ethereum's development at all. I'm not even sure why you're trying to connect this to Vitalik. Is it because he's also Russian? By the way, their central bank has been negative about crypto for years.
