Just do not tell them, you would be using that much electricity, until they pick it up themselves.  Grin

Hopefully you will not be identified as the "Pot" grower for BTC or are all rooms measured individually? Then you are stuffed.

The heat is definitely a problem, if you sharing a room. {Well not if you living in Alaska in winter time, then it's a bonus}  Grin Grin

You might as well just grow some bud in your dorm room. It will generate a lot of heat and use a lot of electricity too. But it will be much more quiet. Plus, you'll be very popular!   Cool

mmmm how about no.

It's funny, I've never heard about this possible electricity caps at colleges.  I assume it was never an issue but I bet it's a fairly frequent problem now, since younger people are more likely to know about bitcoin mining, and also looking for ways to make "easy" money  Cheesy

Don't overload, you might burn down your own college...

Im supposed to buy a 2.4 TH/s miner, and for some reason he told me about 229gb for some reason i still cant figure out why hesaid that.

Why not ask clarifications directly from the seller?

Also what 2.4TH/s miner are you about to buy?

2 dragon terahashers. Also you think i should invest in these for the next 8 months to help with my college payments? Do you think it's worth the risk i'm already $10k in the hole, let me know on what you think.

BAD buy if you're paying for electricity. Dragons/A1 chips are old tech. It's a suckers bet to buy anything above 1GHs per watt in this day and age. Don't bother with anything other than Bitmain S3s if you want delivery in days... or Spondoolies SP30s if you can wait a month.

I'm calling college on tuesday to ask about electricity, if it's 100% included should I buy the dragons? If It's only paid to a certain limit i'll buy some S3s?

Sounds good?>

GB? Or Gigahash.

GB is gigabyte, which is a unit of storage.  Gigahash is a unit of mining speed (1 billion hashes).  229 gigahashes is 229 billion hashes/second.

i think he is trying to say gh

From jun 15 to aug 1 I used 229 GB.

What does this mean when referring to a mining rig?
