Is the fan actually turned off?

No, the fan is on, but when I used "--auto-fan" it showed up as 0%. It was actually running the entire time. I don't think this is a bug with cgminer (I haven't seen other people posting the same question), but rather it's probably due to Xubuntu. There are a handful of posts about GPUs not running their full hash rate IF they are on Xubutnu AND have multiple cards on the MB. I also had problems with this, and for me, the workaround was to start cgminer with a monitor plugged in. I can unplug the monitor after starting, but it has to be there at first. Other than that, it works great.

Think for yourself
If the GPU temp is 57.5C, there's no need for further cooling. 0% fan speed makes sense.

However, I'm guessing you weren't actually mining when you copied that text.

Uh, I don't think a GPU should ever have 0% fan speed.

Code:
------------------------------
[P]ool management [G]PU    ...
GPU 0:  57.5C   0%  |         ...
------------------------------

What does the 0% indicate? I must have missed this in the readme file.

Did I miss the memo?

Either your fan really is a 0% (BAD), your GPU is passively cooled (unlikely), or it's not reading the fan speed properly.

Ok - that makes sense. That was with --auto-fan. If I don't use --auto-fan it shows 45%, plus/minus 10. Thanks!
I always used the --auto-fan with a manually set range, or example
Code:
cgminer.exe --auto-fan --gpu-fan 25-80

That's supposed to be the fan speed. Usually it's as a %, or a direct RPM value. For mine, it says the fan is 4045RPM. Either your fan really is a 0% (BAD), your GPU is passively cooled (unlikely), or it's not reading the fan speed properly.
