I’d like to know what motivates you to invest in a speculative asset like Bitcoin?
For profits which is my main motive and the second would really be pertaining about its utility or simply being that having the support.

What is the driving force that encourages your continuity in the Bitcointalk forum?
Learning is continous and you could learn up things out of this forum if you do really just keep on reading
valuable information on which you could really be able to gain but of course you should really be careful on false information too.

who do you listen to in the forum and study to keep your conviction solid?
Always make up some research whenever you are in doubt on the information that you have read up here on this space.
Google is free.  Smiley

What do you think are the reasons why some person stopped contributing to the forum positively or are they carried away by the rank they have?
Personal reasons, died, lost interest, completely turned their back into Bitcoin or crypto as a whole.

Ironically the reason why I got back in the forum is to further discuss what happened last year. Shitty things happened and I wanted to do stuff on my end where I can discuss about it openly without my friends getting weirded out. Plus it also helps that we have campaigns in the forum where you get paid for speaking your mind out and that's just a massive win-win for me. I'm not gonna sugarcoat it. I've never left bitcoin on the other hand. I still have a couple of holdings in bitcoin but most of my assets are now in other investment ventures like land and cash. I'm thinking of increasing my investments once again though to make room and set up shop for the upcoming bull run, so there's that.

Winding down.
In short, I am on Bitcoin to make money. Bitcoin is a volatile cryptocurrency from which we can make money by holding and trading it. The most important encouragement is financial freedom. I am the owner of my bitcoin, and I can spend it anywhere and anytime without restrictions. For the forum, everything I learn about cryptocurrency is due to this forum. The lesson encourages me to contribute to the forum. Besides that, the signature campaign plays a major role in being active on the forum. We can't ignore it, actually.
No ones dares to continue investing and trading for bitcoin without making money as the first motivation. All of us are definitely into it that’s why no matter how unpredictable and volatile the market is, we continue to push ourselves because it is only in the volatile market that we can get the best of profits in an unexpected time. And the reason why I am thriving with bitcoin is because of this forum that creates equal opportunities for everyone. Without this forum, I may not have known bitcoin well and might just think negative about bitcoin like the rest of the people that are seeing bitcoin as a threat to the financial industry.

You can agree with me that the forum alone is one of great asset that could help one to retain and maintain his stay with bitcoin because this is why the forum was created, to take along everyone who is into bitcoin on the same platform and discuss together which everyone knows that bitcointalk is serving the purpose, there are other opportunities one cannot mention all that we recieves from bitcoin adoption and from this forum, experienced users could tell more about this because they have witnessed some already at one point or the other.

I’d like to know what motivates you to invest in a speculative asset like Bitcoin?
What motivates me to invest in Bitcoin is because of its security and its profit potential. Because of Bitcoin, many people who have been out of trouble in life have escaped, and I am one of those who benefited from Bitcoin before. I have seen that due to the volatility of Bitcoin, you will make a lot of money on your investment within a short period of time. Some are afraid to invest because of the volatility, they have a point, but for me, Bitcoin is a safe investment and not high risk if you know how to analyze the market.

Observation of its performance of the years. Bitcoin is censorship-resistant, decentralized and deflationary in supply. Such characters in one asset is unique in this world.

Being able to mix with similar minded people who have interest in cryptocurrency and hear their thoughts because they might be going through the same problems that I am. How they cope and how they continue to survive through that is encouraging.

Sometimes i just fell like quitting or i feel i am doing the wrong thing even if at some point my investment on bitcoin works well as i only practise on stratey dcaing scince i got into Bitcoin lately.
There is nothing such as getting into Bitcoin investment lately, because just as the price today has skyrocketed more than 100x the price it was 10years ago, so is there a high tendency same price will skyrocket more than 100x in next 10years too, due to the nature of it's volatility and ability to help people avoid inflation.

Quote
What is the driving force that encourages your continuity in the Bitcointalk forum?
Trust be told, one of the things that have encouraged me to keep investing in Bitcoin is the fact and ability it has to grant me in control over my finance and and financial independence, just in the case of it's early adoptance who might have bought a handful of Bitcoin, and today they are multi-millionaires

Quote

When it comes to my local board, "Charles-Tim" and "CryptoprenuerBrainboss" are the people pool up to in my local board, while on the forum, people such as "DdmrDdmr, LoyceV and Lovemayfamilis" e.t.c. As these people have really played a dynamic role worthy of emulation.

BTC, a coin of today and tomorrow.

Few years back, I heard about bitcoin and bitcointalk forum.  At first I wasn't too interested in bitcoin.  I never believed in digital currencies and possibilities of getting rewards while investing in bitcoin.  I managed to give it a try after seeing some convincing testimonies.
Here I am in the forum and the experience has been amazing.

At first,  flowing and getting engaged in conversations here in the forum were a bit challenging but I was determined to make something out of here. Learning was the aim and up till now, I have tried my best to be consistent. Now, the rewards is paying off and it is a huge motivation to continue.

I know its kind of heart breaking when your expectations are not met within a duration of time you've envisaged  and the whole situation will make you want to quit, know this...No one can achieve great things from being inconsistent. Keep pushing until you breakeven.

The forum is a great place to learn. I have learnt lots of things from here which to some extent has helped me in my everyday life.  I don't regret giving bitcoin a try.

It's way easier to believe in Bitcoin today than past years, today many institutional are investing in bitcoin, and that's enough to get my hopes up and running, in the past years most popular figures bashed Bitcoin with fraud words and bubbles, what would you have done if you are here back then? Scared away? Many people ran because of this, saying that Bitcoin won't get anywhere, turn to your left and right online, and you will see some bad opinions about Bitcoin, but today things have changed.

My motivation now is stronger than four years ago, I had nothing great going on in my life but I somehow just believe that Bitcoin will work, at least make me something better, many people tried talking me out of it, including my families, but I was so sure that things will be fine, there are times where I almost doubted myself but reading the whitepaper over again just gives me strength.

I knew this forum but trust me it wasn't part of the reason why I have trust in Bitcoin, I never decided to create an account on this forum then,

So I have built my trust on bitcoin that is the driving factor for me to keep going forward.
This forum has thought me so many things and I have made some friends too and that motivates me to keep myself active on this forum.

Congrats and happy birthday in advance, mate! I, too, have learned most of the things in this forum than with other platforms. One thing I think that this forum have is other’s honest opinion including both success and failures which really leaves a mark to the readers and users.
Thank you for that, Yatsan - but you have to be patient for a moment and say it on time. LOL

I think there are many benefits that forum users can get from various interesting discussions - one of which is honest opinion. But I have no hesitation in saying that many of the opinions made are not truthful - in fact user like that rarely come back just to see who has responded to their posts. Some opinions are forced and they aren't really involved in the discussion - so don't be surprised if they ignore you when you quote their posts.

My motivation behind bitcoin investment is how it has made people's investments have value in the future. Having an investment in it means that you will be at profits at the end of your investment in it. It doesn't matter how depreciating the crypto market is, as long as you can be patient and hodl for long, you will be at profit.

Honestly, for me it was mostly about the fact that I was having fun here and that meant a lot. As long as I keep connecting with other like minded people, I find it fun to spend some time here. Obviously we are somehow making money by chatting with our friends here as well, I am very grateful about that as well, its something that I would like to keep it going as long as possible and would have incredible fun doing so. Its more like getting to know each other, in the end I do not have any other person in my life that talks about bitcoin or even knows much about bitcoin so being here makes it easier to chat with others regarding crypto. Investment part is easy, our fiat in my nation is not that much valuable, and keeping my investment in bitcoin is an easy answer.

My main motivation to invest in Bitcoin is because the alternative to physical currency (fiat) it has brought to us and it gives us freedom in the sense that we don't normally depend on banks again to save our money, and we can have benefit for buying and keeping bitcoin in our wallets.

Q1A; I would say the things that motivate me to do this are all seen on the news. The state of affairs in the worlld is reason enough to put faith in Bitcoin.
Q2A:Right now I think I would say just the constant pursuit of learning & growing with this technology, keeping up with it, and having fun along the way.
Q3A: This is a great question, I guess I need to follow more of the top contributers here, but this forum doesn't work like social media,. I will say i've made some great friends along the way.
Q4A: I think many of the folks who are not active may possible be deceased, have become uniterested, they forgot their password, they were severyly injured. If you just meant why have they not been saying positive things maybe they are bitter or too sure of themselves?

Profit? Rewards? Learning? Investments? What else? These are the common reasons why we are here, I mean we won’t be long reading articles and topics, perhaps in this forum, for fun. We are here sinply because of a purpose and that will always be money. Getting a single and regular job won’t suffice both your needs and wants which makes you do ‘more’ than the usual and this industry is simply a gateway in order for you to attain that.
On October 19, 2023 - I will have my 3rd birthday on this forum. I learned a lot from forum about investing and expanded my knowledge in this area - this certainly contributed a lot to my optimism towards bitcoin investment especially about its future.

The Bitcoin forums are just a place for discussions regardless from signature campaign - but there are plenty of discussions that work well enough to keep my psychology in check regarding this decentralized asset. I consider this discussion forum into a field of knowledge - and that's how I've grown so far and built my portfolio in these investments.

I definitely want to learn about bitcoin because it has proven to a lot of bitcoin enthusiasts that bitcoin could be the future of our investment. And as much as I want to invest in bitcoin, I want to dig in the forum as well because that's the only way I can continuously learn  about bitcoin through the positive perceptions of other reputable members in the forum. And through bitcointalk forum, I came to understand that bitcoin is not just a secured form of investment but a good currency as well that can co-exist with fiat in the future.

Anwering your question regarding what makes me stay on this forum.

The answer is actually simple, the forum keeps me updated and on the loop of any events and news regarding Bitcoin that helps me understand things better and improve my decision-making process with my holdings and investments. As someone who have a job that takes up most of my time having one place that I can visit and have all the information I need and catch up on is very convinient. Moreover, I take engaging in discussions about various topics as a leisure during my free time as it not only keeps me entertained but it also allows me to learn in a fun way with other people.

We all have different stories about things which are reason why we leave something’s and reasons why we also decide not to leave a particular things, for bitcoin investment their are times which I buy and store bitcoin in my wallet and I appear to see the market in a very bad state which then I see as something I can’t withstand I usually make a move of selling off all my holding in other for me not to lose more than I’m already recording in my portfolio but with time and how long I have study the currency and have been convinced enough that no matter how the price move I still have a chance of making profit if I hold strong this has been the reason why I don’t want to give up.

For the forum, I can’t really tell what really encourage me most times but sometimes I’m being encouraged by the new discovery which most of the forum member discover and bring up for discussion and study which we learn every single day, and their are lot of benefits which one is also enjoying in the forum which I can’t deny the fact that it’s among the reason why I’m active here too today.

I’d like to know what motivates you to invest in a speculative asset like Bitcoin?
The technology, the fact that it's completely decentralized, the volatile nature that generates profits over time, and most importantly, the trust that I have in it because of what I have seen happening since when I started using Bitcoin.

What is the driving force that encourages your continuity in the Bitcointalk forum?
The most important thing about this forum for me is the knowledge that I get from here, I know that some people think that most users are here for money, they earn from signature campaigns and that is why they are in the forum, but that's not true for everyone. I find signature campaigns and bounties and other stuff to just be a bonus for being an active and contributing member of the community.

who do you listen to in the forum and study to keep your conviction solid?
There is no specific user that I listen to, I surf every section, and read every thread and its replies, and that is how I gain knowledge and information from the forum.

In my mind Bitcoin is not a highly speculative asset anymore, if you look at the Bitcoin price for the last several years it has always been above 15,000 USD which is a pretty high price for a speculative asset. Everybody around the world has heard of Bitcoin and there a so many different investors these days that it doesn't feel speculative anymore. To me Bitcoin is a normal investment like stocks or investment funds. I am interested in crypto currencies and gambling; both of these things are here on the forum. It's a great mix to engage with other users and there is still a lot to learn for me. Everything new out of the crypto world you will hear about here on the forum, it's a great website to keep up to date and ask questions if you don't understand something. The forum has been around for many years and so have many users from the early stages. I still think that most of these early members are still invested in crypto currencies, it's just that they don't have the time anymore to be as active here on the forum as before. The most common reason why people reduce their time online is family, getting kids and settling down takes a lot of time away. The rank here on the forum doesn't really play a role in it, because all the old members got high ranks for free, there was no merit system back in the day and you ranked up by activity alone. I try to listen to as many users as possible here on the forum, as you can always learn something new and get a new point of view from other members.

Sometimes people have less free time than before, maybe they need to work more or they want to spend more time with their families, other times they just lose interest in the topic, there are a ton of reasons to stop writing on an online forum. Let's not forget that people who discovered bitcoin at the very beginning now are 10-12 years older, that's a lot time. You can say today that you don't want to stop writing here but how can you be so sure? With time we simply change, our priorities change.

Well, I have learned about Bitcoin technology, and from what I have learned so far, for over a decade, Bitcoin has just been persistent, the blockchain technology has just been efficient, many people have just kept buying Bitcoin over and over again, big institutions are buying Bitcoin regularly, some organizations are accepting Bitcoin as a payment method, Bitcoin has been approved as a legal tender in El Salvador, name it...

There are many reasons that keep me going in the space, but above all that, my life or finances are not just dependent on Bitcoin investments or the forum. I have a business and also a few little investments that are not only Bitcoin or cryptocurrency-based, so my mind is not reliant on Bitcoin alone. What I know is that I should keep DCA anytime the money is available, and I will hold it till I get the desired profit I want to extinguish the project I have in mind.

OP, there's this saying: Never carry all your eggs in one basket. If you do, remember that things will not always work out as planned, and you might just be feeling cheated by that one investment you are only looking up at. There were people who bought Bitcoin for less than $1 and made a huge profit, so I know that it is not too late to buy now and hold for more BTC ATH to come.

In their various field they have contributed immensely to the growth and development which have been speaking on their behalf even at their absence, their  contribution still speaks of great volume. Hal Finney was a major player here before his demise and so far his impart has been of good help to the platform as a whole.

I’d like to know what motivates you to invest in a speculative asset like Bitcoin?
Bitcoin is a currency that on its own doesn't get affected by inflation. This means inflation doesn't reduce its value. This is one reason why I'm always for Bitcoin. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been so much inflation and my country is not exempted. Now I found something that can help me keep my savings from being eaten through by inflation.

There is also the fact that I can send and receive money overseas without any issue whatsoever. The last time I received money from overseas was not practically stressful but I had to rely on people who could fraud me and get away with it, luckily they didn't but that's a different story. So I do not want to be in that situation again.
I'm not a control freak but I like the idea of being in control of my stuff, especially money.

Aside from the fact that I get to save my money somewhere where even if inflation is at an 80% increase the value of my money remains the same with converted to fiat, I also stand a chance to make a profit on that savings. Where this works both ways (meaning I could either lose or win), I think I like my chances with an investment.

What is the driving force that encourages your continuity in the Bitcointalk forum?
I have to keep up with the latest on Bitcoin, where better to do that than an actual Bitcoin forum?
There are many things I ordinary wouldn't have read on if not for the forum. I see stuff on here sometimes that intrigue me so I'll have to go and find more and read more for myself. Without knowing it, I'm increasing my knowledge, no matter how little it might seem.
This is a place I get to gain so much information and knowledge while also getting little money from signature campaign. It's an interesting place to be for real.

who do you listen to in the forum and study to keep your conviction solid?

I don't think I have any particular person or people I listen to on here. I just research more on things I see here that I don't understand. That way I know if the person is right or not from my point of view.
It's not a cult that you just take in whatever the top or someone says.
I know what I believe to be right, that's my conviction. I'm very self-critical so I poke holes in my own beliefs to see if I'm right where I stand or not. If I'm convinced, then you have to prove beyond reasonable doubt why you feel I'm wrong. I'm open-minded.

In short, I am on Bitcoin to make money. Bitcoin is a volatile cryptocurrency from which we can make money by holding and trading it. The most important encouragement is financial freedom. I am the owner of my bitcoin, and I can spend it anywhere and anytime without restrictions.

All is here with that intention and no one just want to have fun since Bitcoin is promising. It's volatility bring a lot of opportunity to gain potential profits that's why many hopeful people take a risk to have a chance to change their life by bitcoin investments and any other ways that can make them earn more of this currency.

For the forum, everything I learn about cryptocurrency is due to this forum. The lesson encourages me to contribute to the forum. Besides that, the signature campaign plays a major role in being active on the forum. We can't ignore it, actually.

The important thing we can gain here is the information since this forum is like a local newspaper to us where we can get a latest updates about everything related to bitcoin and cryptocurrency that's the reason for so many years I still use this since it keeps me updated on the latest noise about current events and we can hear different opinion which tackle any good topics and learn from them. If forum doesn't exist maybe we might get a lot of wrong information since on social media there are to many misleading information compare here which the one we can read are those valid opinions from people who have great experiences.

I can relate with you on that. I came into crypto space for the sole purpose of changing my financial situation and so far btc is the only true crypto that can give you that. It is the only coin that can resist volatility and pressure of all kinds and still bounce back. BTC has given its users the true sense of being in control of their funds and some level of freedom.
This forum is where the journey started and is also a major contributor to the journey of so many Bitcoiners who are looking to understand this great technology from different levels of intellect. I can say that being part of this great forum has taught me more about btc, and crypto in general. There are so many great contributors here in the forum which one can benefit from, no special preference but I accumulate and digest any valid information from any member of this forum.

What do you think are the reasons why some person stopped contributing to the forum positively or are they carried away by the rank they have?

There are several reasons to this, but I knew some people who have been inactive at some point because they are busy with their lives (businesses and job). Some have lost interest because they have not found a good signature campaign for quite some time already.
Dividing time for real work and forum work on Bitcointalk is not easy.
But it's not impossible, just setting aside 1-2 hours for the forum is also enough, or when the main work is done.

I've even been in that phase for a long time, dividing time between real work and time for the forum.
But in the past 2 years I've focused entirely on crypto and forums because I no longer have a main job or a job as an employee.

Some of your friends who lost interest because they didn't find a good signature campaign for a long time are completely wrong.
Just look at the state of signature campaigns now, many are giving payouts above $100/week and have even lasted more than 3-4 years.

It's not that you can't find a good one, it's that your friend can't compete and can't grow, because there are conditions that must be met for each signature campaign.
Members who are inactive and have nothing to contribute will not be accepted even if they are Legendary Rank.

I’d like to know what motivates you to invest in a speculative asset like Bitcoin?
Simple reason, it's because it has garnered so much success in just a short period of time. So, we have still a long way to go as we yet to see global adoption.

What is the driving force that encourages your continuity in the Bitcointalk forum?
Except the fact that this very forum was created by Satoshi, you won't find as much toxic and shiller like in different social media platforms. Especially those so called influencers who has done nothing but to lead their followers to invest on the alts they're also invested in.

who do you listen to in the forum and study to keep your conviction solid?
Absolutely, those comments that make sense which you can also relate and connect to the issues tackled.

I’d like to know what motivates you to invest in a speculative asset like Bitcoin?

What is the driving force that encourages your continuity in the Bitcointalk forum?
One of my reasons is that Bitcoin is not controlled and its owners are anonymous so speculation will be stronger for people to invest. Moreover, Bitcoin's level of usefulness really guarantees that if the owner is unknown, automatically people who like the asset are uncontrolled will be more easily attracted. With this forum, the level of trust in Bitcoin increases because many members increasingly know what purpose Bitcoin carries. That was one of the simple reasons I found out about Bitcoin.

who do you listen to in the forum and study to keep your conviction solid?
Personally I am always open and like different opinions about them regarding Bitcoin. Regardless of the way of thinking, I think that is why Bitcoin is unique in that people can think of it as a store of value assets or as a digital currency. In particular, certain people that I listen to may have opinions based on the experiences of old members who are still active and even then we need to filter them because they must be based on facts that they have actually encountered, experienced, and studied in accordance with Satoshi initial goal in creating Bitcoin.

What do you think are the reasons why some person stopped contributing to the forum positively or are they carried away by the rank they have?
The reasons for quitting the forum are usually death or having other activities in the real world that demand your time so you can't be active on the forum again.

1.Are you kidding me? Is this a rhetorical question? The only thing that motivates me(and all the Bitcoiners) to invest in BTC is the BTC price hitting the moon(or just another ATH). Grin Mass BTC adoption and getting free from the banks is another thing, but the main thing is making more money and getting profits. If somebody is telling you something else, he(or she) is definitely lying.

2.The things that keep me active on Bitcointalk.org are:
Sig campaigns.(If someone denies that sig campaigns are the main reason that keeps him on the forum, he's lying).
Gambling topics.
Reading the latest news and gossips about Bitcoin/crypto.

3.I don't have a particular mentor here on the forum.

The inflation rate in my region has really encouraged me to invest in bitcoin because I don't see any reason why I should leave money in the bank or saving my money somewhere in my house when money loosing value constantly on a daily basis. Honestly I think this is the most important time that bitcoin investment is really needed because one thing I see about fiat currency is that the rate of depreciating keeps on getting worse , their is no way to improve it to make it better. The inflation and depreciation of money is a big encouragement to invest in bitcoin. I think this is the main  reason why most people will need bitcoin right now as backup.

Op, DCA's a good strategy, so I think it's good that it's the one you're employing.
This forum has different people, and of course some are afraid of investing in Bitcoin, unsure about its future, but I think most people here aren't like that.
Bitcoin, like any investment, is a risk. There's no guarantee that it will recover this time as it did before, or that at some point in the future it won't stop recovering. Investment also requires money, which some people don't have.
Now, to answering your questions.
I try to save up some of BTC because I believe that it's a better choice than fiat, considering that Bitcoin tends to grow in value over time, whereas fiat gradually loses its value by design. I'm used to this forum, and I like that I can learn new things here and see people with very different opinions trying to explain their views. I look at the merit numbers, to be honest, when it comes to evaluating the claims people make, but of course it's not a perfect system. And here are some reasons an accomplished person might stop using the forum: a person may die, lose access to account, become not interested in discussing cryptos online

It's inevitable whether you wish for such day to come or not, just like other members before us we will at different phases in our lives wage goodbye to the forum. What you should be concerned with is that if for any reason you're leaving the forum let it be for a project or achievement greater than what you're getting from the forum.

Or perhaps you mean to still be participating and active in the forum but no longer dropping impactful and useful contributions. I question that possibility because it is said that, "the older the wine the sweeter it gets".

Being a speculative asset with volatility bitcoin offers financial opportunities and act as an alternative currency that is somehow a  building block against  inflation.
I think anything that can offer me self custody and privacy to my money is worth investing in.

Upon knowing the bitcointalk forum, I started to learned a lot about bitcoin that it could be the best source of anticipating financial security in the future. Not because it’s the high price that keeps it ahead from other investments, but because bitcoin is simply our future, and not fiat that is completely controlled by the government. And I know by making myself updated about bitcoin, I have to stay and keep valuing the forum as well. And those who owned successful stories about bitcoin made me more motivated to learn from them.

However, on answering why do some members stop contributing in the forum, I don’t think they really stopped. Probably they are just waiting for the perfect topic to share in the forum that could leave a huge impact on the newbies and even on the high rank members as well.

Only Bitcoin that provide decentralization, security, and privacy, that's why I always accumulate every satoshi.

You forgot one thing: profit, it would be a lie if someone said they need bitcoin because it brings decentralization, privacy, and security but not profit. There are still some people who only consider bitcoin as currency, but they are rare. Profit is one of the important factors and many people even consider it the top factor for them to hold bitcoin.

Since I'm a Bitcoin holder, this forum is the best place to see OGs' posts and people who discuss about Bitcoin. There's a difference between active (login) in this forum and active (posting) in this forum. Obviously I actively posting because of the project I currently promoting, but even though I might not wear paid signature, I believe sometime I will visit this forum.

I participate in many social networks, many cryptocurrency communities, but if someone is looking for a good place to discuss everything related to bitcoin, bitcointalk is the most informative and useful place that I would recommend for everyone's reference.

I’d like to know what motivates you to invest in a speculative asset like Bitcoin?
For me or to me, every asset is speculative, talk about gold, talk about silver, talk about company shares and so on, they are all speculative as long as their prices or monetary values are not static but changes from time to time, even the fiat currencies speculative as most of them still go up and down against other fiat currencies, and this is why we have the forex market available for people who would like to make profit off this unstable prices.

So if we invest in all of those assets i mentioned above, then why shouldnt we invest in Bitcoin?, if you are not investing in a speculative asset, will you rather invest in an asset that is ultimately stable in price?, how then will you make profit?

Quote
What is the driving force that encourages your continuity in the Bitcointalk forum?
Aside Signature campaigns which i have always seen as a bonus for being active on this forum, my driving force is simply nothing else other than my love and involvement in bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, anyone doing any type of business will like to be where other people doing the same business are, so that he or she can learn a thing or two from those who are more experienced that he or she is, and he or she can also teach those that he or she is better than.

So for someone who has a business in bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, where else would such a person rather be, if not on a forum like this, to meet and discuss with people of like minds.

How would i or any one else know?, except they reach out and tell us why they are longer or stopped being active here, we wouldn't know, many people stop being active here for several reasons,
Some get banned.
Some get a new job that is time consuming and no longer have time to spend on this forum.
Some made a lot of money and become too busy living life and forget this forum.
Some started a new business, or become a CEO to a business and no longer have time to spend on this forum.
And the most heartbreaking is that, some died, passed on, and that is why they are no longer active here.

I think that btc is suitable for long-term hodling, and I'd rather not call it an investment - it's more like buying something valuable. It's nearly impossible to get some profit out of short-term cryptomarket deals, especially if the money amounts are not so high (due to trading fees). So, in general, btc is a good "hodling-investment" tool, but it is not suitable for trading...
When you buy something and expect its value to increase over time, it is also called investing.
It is true that holding bitcoin long term is simple and suitable for the majority, but saying it is not suitable for trading is not correct. Bitcoin is very volatile, so it can be said to be very suitable for trading, because more volatility creates more opportunities to make profits. Just because you can't make a profit from trading doesn't mean others can't either, many people are making quite a profit trading bitcoin.

What motivated me to get into Bitcoin in 2013 was to be able to pay a program which turned out to be a Ponzi. Sad but am sure am not alone with this story. I then later on learned this forum and I participated and then learned a lot of many things good with Bitcoin in particular and crypto in general. Right now, I only have a small amount of Bitcoin and some Ethereum too. I believe that Bitcoin is still the future as more and more people will be experiencing more instability financially...soon we can see many events impacting the global set-up and Bitcoin is going to be the best way to protect one's assets.

It appears to have been a bad experience for many of us at the beginning of our journey. Despite your bad experience with bitcoin you chose to stay with the industry. This is a positive outcome for the community as it shows your commitment towards bitcoin despite your past challenges. The potential of bitcoin is undeniable and those who recognize this remain in this industry.

For me, the reasons of financial security/independence won't just do as am stating my motivation to continue in this forum and Bitcoin as an investment, because the interest in the knowledge of cryptocurrency led me to first understand and be able to distinguish Bitcoin from other coins and also Ponzi schemes as at the time.

I have been more encouraged too unlike everyone who is in any campaign, from the earnings, even if it is the smallest piece of cryptocurrency here. I can't stress how high the poverty level and interest rates of commodities and living is in my country right now.

I have been able to keep my brain young by reading and contributing where necessary and I know how energized and how encouraged to go on I feel, after learning a new interest or from discussions leading me to do my own research.

The same things that motivate anyone to invest in a speculative asset are achieving a good return. Everyone has a normal life, but today’s lifestyle makes jobs provide you with money to provide the basics and a little excess money to invest. You can invest in traditional investments, but you will find that you need dozens of years to build something. Valuable. For example, in my country, you need to work 5 years to buy an apartment, and if we count the costs of daily life, it may take up to 10 years.

You must have self-motivation to continue using the forum, just as happens with Instagram and TikTok. If your motive is only profit, you will find that the quality of your participation decreases over time.

If your journey is a learning journey, you should not listen to anyone. Listen to everyone and form your own convictions.

Just understand that this forum is like other social media platforms and people at some point will get tired of participating in discussion on the forum especially when there are no new things to discuss like during the bear market the activities of the market are mostly silent so some people might just take a break from the forum and others have different reasons why they stopped been active here. Some users mightn't have much free time anymore due to their engagement in the real world. Could be a new job or new life experience like getting married and having to look after the children and other reason best known to them so we shouldn't be bother about those who have left but concerned about those who are still here.

Honestly what drive my interest in Bitcoin is the high rate of poverty in my country, while I was still a student I was looking for an alternative measure to make money then stumbled upon Bitcoin from a failed investment that was built around ponzi scheme but looking at Bitcoin, you can immediately see that it was different and unique. Fear of poverty motivated me to invest in Bitcoin because I was looking for financial stability but what has made me stay is the uniqueness of Bitcoin that can't be gotten from other assets. Its potential of been a global currency is also one of the reasons why I'm still here because I want to be part of history while been an early adopter.

Well, I kind of invested time and effort into bitcoin to earn, so at the end, I will still invest in bitcoin by either trading, flipping, or doing any kind of work to earn through bitcoin. And also, at this time, investing in bitcoin is a good idea as it has a lower price, which is good because if I have a good prediction, I could make a lot of money.

There's a lot of opportunity here in the forum, as well as knowledge that you could get simply by browsing and reading interesting topics. I could also get the opinions of the other members in this forum, which could be useful to me in the near future.

I can't deny that this forum platform provides an opportunity not only for extra income but also for the knowledge and opinions that other communities provide here on the topic in question. There are only two things to discourage or encourage anyone entering this platform.

If there are others who no longer continue in this forum, maybe their goal is to get a job here by participating in the signature campaign that will be paid every week. When they saw that they had to rank up their account here, they discovered it was not that easy to do now because of the merit requirements. And if they participate in bounty altcoins, there is no guarantee that they will be paid, or maybe there is something else.

Reason why I stayed with bitcointalk forum instead of Twitter or Reddit or other sources was because when it came to mining you had the best help.

I started mining in 2014 or so and had no idea what I was doing. There wasn’t too many websites for help because it was fairly new back then. Only bitcointalk forum had an active mining community and you got help quick if you ran into any issues. And basically stayed since then.

I am a techie and a gear head.

I was modding apple mac minis and selling on ebay 2005 to 2012. That ended when apple locked down the mini and made mods too hard.

So I had lots of parts and moved into pc building. I looked for a way make my pc sales as good as my mac mini sales I realized that selling mining-gaming rigs would work well back in 2012.

So I approached btc as a marketing tool for building my gear.

This kept me in the loop up-to 2017. Once we rallied to 19.5k I became a believer in BTC as the lead not the gaming - mining pcs. I still deal with a lot of gear but I mine semi commercial and earn steady btc that way.

I'm sure there are many reasons why someone continues to contribute positively to a forum or stops.
If the account owner has activities outside the forum/work problems in the real world, is on holiday or has passed away, of course this is their own choice. As for those who still remain in the forum, their accounts are always active and provide positive things on the forum, perhaps because they have more time in the real world, actually they also do things related to the forum, have responsibilities on this forum, have work on the Bitcointalk forum.

Forums and Bitcoin in my opinion are very relevant. There is a lot of positive information that can be obtained in forums and we can apply it in investing in Bitcoin, and it will produce results.

In my opinion, Bitcointalk has a positive influence on forum members, in terms of information and even jobs and projects.

I don't feel that Bitcoin is a speculative asset because gave me a lot of profit some time ago. So if you think Bitcoin is a speculative asset, It definitely won't have a positive impact on your life. But now, you will see people and the members who joined and understand Bitcoin, has changed their life significantly before knowing that asset. Bitcoin has changed everything and can give you benefits if you believe that asset is the future.

I also made the mistake of just viewing bitcoin as a speculative asset and selling it when I had enough profit. But only now, I realized that was my big mistake, bitcoin is not a short-term speculative asset but it is a future asset with great potential. So I started accumulating more bitcoins instead of selling them for small short-term profits.

What is the driving force that encourages your continuity in the Bitcointalk forum?
We cannot deny that money and income is one thing important here. sometimes I feel lazy to post and answer questions from members here, but if I think I will receive income from what I say and post, that's a big motivation that can push me to think out loud to resolve the problem.

Invest in bitcoin or continue participating in the forum, it's all about money. I will also not hesitate to admit this because money is something we all need today. So it's no surprise that everyone's goal is money.

I’d like to know what motivates you to invest in a speculative asset like Bitcoin?
Because it's proven and tested so many years based on the price history.
Bitcoin has a limited supply and there it could be called profit when you store value.

Quote
What is the driving force that encourages your continuity in the Bitcointalk forum?
To learn more and to be updated in the crypto space.
Of course, to earn money that now I'm thankful because I run my own business.

Quote
who do you listen to in the forum and study to keep your conviction solid?
No one, but I used them as my preference, don't rely on a single piece of information, it should be there are too many references.

Quote
What do you think are the reasons why some person stopped contributing to the forum positively or are they carried away by the rank they have?

It could be death or finding a better job than making a profit on crypto.
IMO, though I am busy and have a lot of time for my business but still I can spare time here in the forum to visit and get updated of what happening on the crypto world.

Profit motivates me to invest in a speculative asset like Bitcoin.  If I wanted to use it, I just buy it when needed.

Knowledge and additional source of income.  I'll be a hypocrite if I do not admit the benefits I get in staying here in the forum.

I listen to anyone that makes sense.  I am open to people's points of views.

I'm still studying the forum, its barely 48hrs I've been here, there are some actions i want to make like tagging and replying to a particular question but I find it difficult to do, but with time every damn thing will fall in place.

My biggest motivation investment in Bitcoin is actually the volatilistic nature of the market. No one could tell that Bitcoin would rapidly rise to this extend, except those who had the strong mind of risk taking, who despite the impossibilities saw possibilities in it. The market is just a decade and half and it has risen to this extend, what makes you think the market won't rise above what it is today. I fill my mind with serenity and tranquility putting the past behind. Philip Lucky Dube in one of his songs sleeping dogs says .... Don't look into the paste, it will make you pastiristic, look to the future, it will make you futuristic. The future is my biggest motivation.

What is the driving force that encourages your continuity in the Bitcointalk forum?
I don't just like but also value the community involvement and membership.

Bitcointalk has given me a family that has helped to sustain and grow the interest I have in bitcoins. Without this forum, I would have still known about bitcoins, but maybe my interest would not have been the way it is now, maybe it would have long been extinguished.

Also with this forum, I feel like a part of something very important to the future.

You are right that some account are no longer online but don't forget that some account that are inactive and suddenly becomes active after a very long time. We all have our reasons as to why we stop at something but my opinion about why they stop is maybe they are too busy and can't visit the forum for a long time. Anyways, if you invest in Bitcoin it doesn't mean that you will always have to be active on the forum in order to gain profit. As other forum members have also given this advice to other forum members as I also did, it's better to have more than one main source of income and never make Bitcoin investment as your main source of income.

I’d like to know what motivates you to invest in a speculative asset like Bitcoin?

Despite its speculative nature, as the first cryptocurrency to exist, it has distinguished itself from the others and continues to explore its decentralised nature. It is the only coin that has some level of dependency on a return of value when invested in and can resist market volatility and pressure to regain its previous value.

Quote
What is the driving force that encourages your continuity in the Bitcointalk forum?

It is a school of knowledge that includes instructions on how to get started with bitcoin technology as a miner, investor, or trader. You can't get lost in this type of technology if you have this understanding.

Quote
who do you listen to in the forum and study to keep your conviction solid?

Reputable members who have contributed to the forum in some capacity, such as sharing knowledge, providing solutions, and important information on bitcoin technology. Despite the fact that this is a public group, not many people will be wrong while supporting a notion that has been established beyond reasonable doubt to be true.

Quote
What do you think are the reasons why some person stopped contributing to the forum positively or are they carried away by the rank they have?

Knowledge is limited, some people may be unaware of the latest discoveries and may not feel the need to learn about them. If questions are posed, I'm sure they'll respond based on what they know. They might still be other reasons known to them only for not contributing to the forum again.
This is interesting! If I had any merit i would have merited, you.

The aspect which you said the forum is like a school of knowledge cut deep into my heart. I could remember when I started, I was not good at making good discussions in the forum due to this I was attacked by most person, but I understood something that those words were thrown at me for me to learn and contribute to the forum positively. Sometimes it's best to learn the hard way.

Also, I don't agree when you said knowledge is limited. Buddy knowledge is open for anyone at any time to learn. As long as you have the zeal, and you want to be in this forum then the need to learn and upskill is very important.

I’d like to know what motivates you to invest in a speculative asset like Bitcoin?

Being around someone who invested in bitcoin for a long time and still making good progress is one of the things that motivated me to like bitcoin even before locating bitcointalk forum. And coming to the forum without having knowledge of cryptocurrency and later finding out that a lot of people also believes in the same thing that someone closer to me has been into for a long time gave me the courage to start up my bitcoin investment journey and since then, it's been an interesting journey even though am yet to experience a bull run since I started my investment but am happy to have invested and still investing in bitcoin.

I have never had problems in continuing to hodl Bitcoin the issue why it seems that many people thinks of giving up is that they are mostly investors and every investor wants to make profits but the crypto-currency market is volatile with it's up and downs. But I see Bitcoin than just an investment opportunity I see it as a financial system offering solutions the traditional financial system couldn't handle with this I don't need much motivation to continue.

The hype of bitcoin and coming online to see or hear things about bitcoin tempted me to know more about it and that was how the journey began. Finding out about Bitcointalk Forum trigger and boost my confidence knowing that I'm in the midst of like minded people who share similar ideas. I personally have some high rank members whom I look up to despite that they're not aware of it but I do not have a particular member who I listen to for now. I listen to ideas in the forum no matter where it is coming from be it high rank or lower rank as long as the idea is useful. It's wrong to assume and make judgment as to why some people stopped contributing in the forum. It my be due to personal reasons or some challenges. Just like in this thread by lauda. It's very emotional and painful seeing people leaving this space in such manner.

I will say i am impressed with the response so far. I am having new insight and I have noticed what i have thought or been doing wrong.

I've been there on the situation you are having. I stopped using this forum before when the time I was so demotivated and questioning myself why I'm still in this forum but after trying to get back, I realize I can still learn new things from the opinion of other forum members. I use this forum to have an update on latest cryptocurrency happenings though I can't deny that the signature campaign that I am currently participating helped me a lot in being active, I consider it as a bonus and an extra motivation to stay up to date in the cryptocurrency space.

If you are not demotivated on what you are currently doing, try to rest temporarily and think about what you plan to do in the future, maybe the plan you have can push you even further. I have plans and I am so motivated to push those plans into reality.
Aside form being a Bitcoin Investors and being a member of the forum, do you mean that your other goal in life was kind of related to Bitcoin and that is why you came bac and become more active in the forum.

I picked interest in Bitcoin because it is community-oriented and there's full access to participate in the open economy. To invest in assets in my country, I have to do shit ton of KYC and other things. When I first got into bitcoin and crypto, 95% of exchanges at the time didn't enforce KYC so it was super easy to join the bandwagon.

What is the driving force that encourages your continuity in the Bitcointalk forum?

The forum contains a wealth of information. I found the forum through a Google search. I read the topic and replies. That's when I decided to stick around. I thought - If I know this just from a Google search, how much more will I learn if I stick around?

Nobody is carried away. Before becoming active once again on the forum this year, I was last active 2 years ago and more breaks before then. Life happens and focus changes. Also note that some ranked members that are inactive might be dead.

Regardless i still have a few questions and things i want to know, something that a book, video or other learning resources cannot help me instead i can only get that from members of the forum.
Yes, this is the point of the aspect statement. You said that I learn things from BitcoinTalk members that are not found in videos, books, or other learning resources, etc. I can't say with certainty about you what that thing is in your mind. But according to my theory and idea, as far as I know if I am not wrong, that thing is experience, which members of the BitcoinTalk forum can give you. Emphasize thinking a little and trying to understand that videos, books, or other learning resources, etc., only teach you basic knowledge about what Bitcoin is and how and when to invest. But experience is something that is presented to you in the form of a practically positive feedback result by making good use of all the knowledge or education that you need. Using this knowledge, should you decide to enter Bitcoin at this time or exit at this time, etc.?

So the purpose of saying this is that reading books, watching videos, and other learning resources provides education for you, which only gives you knowledge, whereas experience gives you the result that has been practically confirmed. There are many members on BitconTalk who can teach you this experience for free.

First of all, congratulations for achieving your new rank of Full member, Because a few days ago I saw you and you were at 94 or 96 I think, and now have become a full member, great work, and keep up the spirit.

Now coming back to your queries.
I’d like to know what motivates you to invest in a speculative asset like Bitcoin?
I want to make money, I have money that I can use to make extra money, but I do not have enough money to invest in other kinds of investments like real estate, etc. But I came to know about BTC and the features it has, so I was motivated to put my assets in it. Just to clear things out, I am a student and started to make money from crypto, and now I am earning from sig campaigns in BTC. And I an saving these amounts and only using what I have to.

What is the driving force that encourages your continuity in the Bitcointalk forum?
First, I was here for bounties, then I started to contribute to discussions on the local community then slowly slowly, started to make posts out of the local community, and started to get motivated when people started to merit me, people not from the local board but from overall board supported and motivated me, ohh how can I forget to mention, they educated me better than my school teachers.

I like the interaction here, and the replies I got from others, I like the attention (which I actually don't have hehe). But still, I don't know, I kind of feel, I am missing something until I don't visit the forum, If you will see, I don't have any posts from yesterday (instead one maybe), I was busy in marriage where I have to travel 5 hour for just going there and 5 hour to come home. And I stayed there for only 1 hour. I was frustrated, but during the travel, I still opened BTT and read what was happening if there was some good or bad news, I did not engage due to privacy. Well, I think I am going off-topic.

If you read through those topic you will see different views and opinion from members of the forum and most times you just feel if your doing the right thing all this while or it your just going in on luck.

This is not entirely true. Long term investment in bitcoin works, there is no debate on the forum about that, unless you read trolls like proudhon. And it is not a matter of luck, it is a matter of recognising what bitcoin is, what it brings to the world and understanding that this is intrinsically linked to its rising price.

I’d like to know what motivates you to invest in a speculative asset like Bitcoin?

That it is not really speculative if you invest for the long term, and that it is much more than a tool to make money (fiat). Bitcoin gives you options and freedom.

What is the driving force that encourages your continuity in the Bitcointalk forum?

I don't need much strength to continue in the forum. I am entertained, I learn and I earn money. What else do you want?

What do you think are the reasons why some person stopped contributing to the forum positively or are they carried away by the rank they have?

It could be a personal circumstance, getting fed up with the forum, becoming rich enough, death... there are many possibilities.

Many rich country and institutional investors are already into Bitcoin now while I become Bitcoin investors before this whales. Their interest to Bitcoin is surely a great confirmation that my investment is really worth investing since pother huge companies and country is investing too. As shrimp holder, this giant investors that speculating on Bitcoin motivates me to hold more aside from the blockchain technology which is my original reason why I invested on Bitcoin that’s why I invest to Bitcoin before this giant investors.

As for the Bitcointalk forum. More on getting news and to interact with people that has a common interest with to crypto.

Sometimes i just fell like quitting or i feel i am doing the wrong thing even if at some point my investment on bitcoin works well as i only practise on stratey dcaing scince i got into Bitcoin lately. I have seen most topics on the forum about Bitcoin and the Bitcoin forum. Such like fear of investing in bitcoin, some investment strategies being a mental challenge and to mention a few.

If you read through those topic you will see different views and opinion from members of the forum and most times you just feel if your doing the right thing all this while or it your just going in on luck. I dont want to say am confused because i have read and learnt in the past few months much of Bitcoin and Bitcointalk forum and i have shared some resources to help other members from where i learnt from.

Also I have come accross some profile been inactive for some time while some totally stopped contributing to the forum. Dont know thier reasons or challenges but i know there is a reason for all that. I dont want a day to come where i would stop contributing positively to the forum.

Regardless i still have a few questions and things i want to know, something that a book, video or other learning resources cannot help me instead i can only get that from members of the forum.
