And now I understand the problem. OP did not make a detailed description, I thought he saw the Telegram or Twitter icon. But if he sees the site logo, it's customizable by everyone. This is text url named by code [*url=https://coinmarketcap.com]testing[/url] if you delete the ( * ) it will be testing , The real link is to coinmarketcap.com but we see testing in the profile

In this case if you are worrying for clicking the link, you should right click on the link

Click copy link address and paste it wherever you want
You will able to see the right link website

Can you give me an example, example of any profiles? Each profile is allowed to provide links about Yahoo and Skype. They can put referral links into it. But you are talking about linking with Twitter and Telegram. I think you mislook, because it sounds unreasonable. Telegram and Twitter are not on each person's default profile, so I think it's icon won't show

In overall you can feel free to enter any link you wish in your profile's website field. You can see this option on many website/forum and some people put their website's link in order to get backlink and improve seo. But for that purpose I think using of your signature will be better, it will index a lot of links with meta text (some of them may have PR 1 and higher) while your profile link may not be that much usable, I hugely doubt anyone will click on earth icon under your profile.

Are you mean you was found someone website link not suitable with the name?
Its should be the right personal website, such as social media, project, your blog etc.
You can make new topic if you feel suspicious about thats website, especially website containing phising or malware.

You can put what you want there but many people will use that and their signatures to try get some referral money. Nothing against it in the rules as long as the ref links aren't in posts.

It's a "dirty" trick for sure and I don't like that but referral links aren't forbidden in your signature, personal text, or website. You can put any link in there as long as it is not a phishing site.

I believe that it should only be used for a link to your personal website. For example, mine is linked to Jet Cash.com. There are other fields for personal media links.

Any website link you wish to put there... Your website, referral link or social media profile link can appear there. It's not against the rules so long as it's not scam( because you will have trouble with DT members)

There is a option in the profile page, named website and I was wondering is it right to place any link in this field. I am asking this because in few profiles the website is displayed as telegram or twitter but when clicked it redirect to some referral link. Is this legit to do so?
