Life expectancy is the average number of years people live within a society. It varies from countries and regions. It is as high as 87 years in some countries and as low as 56 years in some. The leading countries in high life expectancy include South korea, France, Japan and some other Asian countries. Many factors play a role with the key among them being pollution, habits and sometimes, culture.

However,  it seems there should be more that affect life expectancy that I would love to know. Let's discuss.

The world we live in today, I believe, is the primary cause of lower life expectancy. People lived up to 500 years centuries ago and were still fully healthy and active for farm labour and other recreational activities. But everything has changed today, and the environment we live in is no longer natural, but artificial. Many modern developments have forced the green environment to flee, and all of this is hurting the natural habitat environment. This has lead to a shorter life span and has had an impact on our earth, animals, and humans. We may be unable to live without these inventions because we were born with them, but it is now expected that we will not have a longer life expectancy.

We all have mentioned good and similar point in different perspective, I see Health as one of very important factor that affect life expectancy!. Most people neglected health education, we eat without considering health, the food we eat is not also consider, more than half of the poor and uneducated Africans do not consider balance diet in what they ate. They only feel they are hungry and they found something to put in their stomach, some always eat what they feel like eating only without considering the balance nutrition of the food to their body system. This ignorance make many not to aquire good health system and some Fall sick or affected with different such diseases which might damage their system and healthy condition. This is another thing that result death to many who are not taking caution about their health. Other to look out are:

How many prevent themselves from any caution like,

* Using seat belt
* Mindful of balance diet
* Use of helmet
* Read and obey health guide and instructions
* Obeying traffic regulations in driving and speed limit
* Personal hygiene on our body, houses, toilet, kitchen and our surrounding.e.t.c

Twin studies have estimated that approximately 20-30% of an individual's lifespan is related to genetics, the rest is due to individual behaviors and environmental factors which can be modified. In addition, it found that lifestyle plays almost no factor in health and longevity after the age of 80, and that almost everything in advanced age is due to genetic factors.
https://www.disabled-world.com/fitness/longevity/

But what about epigenetic markers, that control which genes become active? Who or what controls the epigenetics? - Epigenetics and the influence of our genes | Courtney Griffins | TEDxOU - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JTBg6hqeuTg.

What factors affect life expectancy?

One of the biggest factors if you are a soldier in Russia or Ukraine is, being a soldier in Russia gives you a far longer life expectancy than if you are a soldier in Ukraine.

Cool

And this is based in your imagination and wishful thinking. Ruzzian soldiers have died is such a large numbers that have managed to go from a general offensive and costly advances to a precariously sustained front that is currently at serious risk of collapse in several areas near Zaporilla.

But... if we speak about Ruzzia, even before the war, you will observe decades of population decline in a country that has pretty much limitless territory. This is a tell sign of  mismanagement and people fleeing in every direction. You should try think about it before posting silly.

There you go, posting stuff that is based in your imagination and wishful thinking. All you have to do is watch this Tucker report, with Col. Douglas Macgregor - http://www.freedomsphoenix.com/News/349011-2023-08-23-ep-18-into-the-abyss-colonel-douglas-macgregor-tells-us.htm. And Scott Ritter (retired US military) tells us similar.

The point is that I am not there, right in the middle of it all. Are you? Can you actually see men dying on both sides? If you have to believe what others tell you, how do you know they are not lying to you? If you get it from the major media news reports, simply compare the mistaken news reports from the beginning of the war to what they are saying today. You can see that they don't know what they are talking about.

Come on. Let us know where you get your info, other than out of your "imagination and wishful thinking."

The term "longevity" is sometimes used as a synonym for "life expectancy" - however, the term "longevity" is sometimes meant to refer only to, especially long-lived members of a population, whereas "life expectancy" is always defined statistically as the average number of years remaining at a given age.

Life expectancy at birth has risen rapidly during the last century due to many factors, including reductions in infant mortality, rising living standards, improved lifestyles and better education, as well as advances in healthcare and medicine.

Economic development and the improvement in some environmental conditions (for example in many urban areas), improved lifestyles, advances in healthcare and medicine, including reduced infant mortality, have resulted in a continuous increase in life expectancy at birth during the last century.

Significant factors in life expectancy include gender, genetics, access to health care, hygiene, diet and nutrition, exercise, lifestyle, and crime rates. Evidence-based studies indicate that longevity is based on two major factors, genetics, and lifestyle choices.

Factors such as genetic makeup, the ability to reach medical services, and the regulations established by governing bodies collectively impact a person's life duration. While these elements hold significance, individual variations and random occurrences also play a role in causing deviations in the anticipated lifespan.

Speaking of this, we go to factor number 1: ridiculous amounts of cash. I am saying this because the new gene therapies are so personalised and so difficult to make that we may be speaking of $ 1 Million a pop. Yes, that is a million dollars a treatment, and no, sorry, unless you are one of the chosen ones your insurance do not cover anything like it.

Probably the biggest thing that affects life expectancy is, Jesus fills the whole universe. He wants us to use the things of the universe to live healthy lives. So, accepting Him is part of using-the-things-of-the--universe, because He is aware of everything and everybody.

Cool

Yeah, he said we should reference his name above every other name and that he is able to come to our rescue at all times, including when we are sick that he is the greatest healer. His desire for us is for good and not for evil. Therefore, we should feed subdue our world and harness all that will make us feel better in our life.

Life and healthy life and be free from bacteria   Grin That is the surest way to increase our life expectancy, don't feed on toxic and poor nutrition.

What most people don't realize is that Jesus isn't exactly here. He hasn't been seen on earth since His ascension.

Jesus sent His Holy Spirit to take His place while He is gone. The Revelation says that The Holy Spirit is a seven-fold Spirit. One of those seven has always been here since the Beginning. That fold of the Spirit is the One Who gradually heals us from diseases. He's the One who slowly makes a scab on a cut, so that it heals. He acts in all things to heal them. But He acts slowly.

The Holy Spirit fold that Jesus sent at the Pentecost, is available to all people who have enough faith. He is the One Who works whatever miracles that are done while Jesus is gone.

We need the right kinds of bacteria in the world as it is.

The surest way to increase our life expectancy is to fill ourselves on the Word of God all the time, more and more. Then, using what we have learned by filling ourselves, we need to focus on the words that grow our faith. Jesus said, when His disciples asked Him to increase their faith, "If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it will obey you" - https://www.biblehub.com/niv/luke/17.htm.

While these elements hold significance, individual variations and random occurrences also play a role in causing deviations in the anticipated lifespan.
The rate at which harmful substances have been exposed to the environment due to industrialization is also a key factor to consider because it has a significant effect on the life span of humans. The type of food, water, and improper medical treatment are also factors that may reduce life span; poverty is also a factor because lack of proper maintenance and proper food intake due to a lack of money also causes sudden death.

What we know is the common problem why people are not like the old times when they often live up to 90+ years old is the food that we are consuming nowadays because it has lots of chemicals that are not healthy anymore also the common disease nowadays are diabetes and the likes of it. Also, we have some drugs that are not available in the old times, which is one of the major problems why the majority of people are not living a long life nowadays. Therefore if people ponder upon this problem and focus on changing the way they are right now, it could be changed, but education should be provided as well and also nutritional education too.
if talking in the old days there was no fast food, snacks and so on, they immediately processed natural products for consumption with makeshift spices without a mixture of chemicals which did not exist at that time so this could encourage them to live healthy by eating nutritious food.

while for now almost every food we consume at this time all contain preservatives so that these foods can last a long time. and includes processed food even though it is not free from a mixture of chemicals.

This practicality causes people to ignore their health and prefer fast food for their consumption for reasons of time efficiency and portability. We see for ourselves how most parents in caring for their children prefer to buy snacks, candies, canned food and drinks for their children to consume compared to making their own preparations.

By making our own preparations at home, it will be easy for us to avoid harmful substances for consumption, because this greatly affects health.

What affects life expectancy is what we eat, the Asia has a high level of life expectancy and that's because what they eat is different from what the rest of the world eat. I watch some Asia clips online and what they want will be considered unhealthy in the rest part of the world.

Meanwhile those foodstuffs are what connect them more to earth than the rest part of the world. Asians are known for eating more of fresh food but the rest part of the world are brainwashing to thinking that canned food are better than fresh food.

An example is when people cooking prefer to use tomato paste that has been processed instead of using fresh tomatoes. Processed food are poisonous but the government won't stop them because they're contributing to their government through taxed revenues.

Food processing industry are shutting anybody campaign against them. If we want to increase our life expectancy, we have to be watchful of what we eat first before considering other factors that aren't under our control like pollution, bad government and technical development to help enhanced life.

Life expectancy can be influenced by various factors such as genetics, lifestyle choices, access to healthcare, socioeconomic status, education level, environmental conditions & cultural practices. Genetics plays a role in determining predispositions to certain diseases whilst lifestyle choices like diet, exercise, smoking potential drug use & alcohol consumption can greatly impact overall health.

Access to quality healthcare services including preventive care and timely treatment can significantly affect life expectancy. Socioeconomic status, education & environmental factors such as pollution and safety also contribute to differences in life expectancy across populations.

Bad leadership, this has ruined so many potential in the country, people hope on the Government to make things easy and work for them, but bad leaders make  policy that's inimical to the people progress.

War. When there's dispute and war outbreak it's affect all plans and expectations, everyone will only think of survival without thinking of the plan.

Hence, we must prepare for anything in this world and we must never expect much, let's all do our best.

^^^ Thank you Xinarae*.

However there don't seem to be any 300-year-olds who are living in good health. We don't know for sure, because if I were healthy and 300, I sure wouldn't be broadcasting it.

The point is that all the 'nutritional' living, and 'good' living that we know about... it all isn't enough. It seems that everybody dies. Soooo, why are we here?

We have each been granted the amount of life that we have so that we can find out about Jesus-salvation, and accept it and live in great health and joy, with God, forever, in the next life. Or we can reject Jesus-salvation, and live without God, in the next life.

Living without Jesus-salvation, and without God in the next life is living forever, as well. There is a trick to understand why the life without God will be forever. It has to do with the great power of God that He used when He made Jesus-salvation. People don't insult the Almighty God by rejecting Jesus-salvation, and then get away with a simple once-and-for-all destruction.

I agreed @BADecker opinion.

I think there are many kinds of problems in human life, the biggest problem in human life is that various diseases in human life make people's life narrow, because the diseases also involve many problems in human life due to which human life expectancy is reduced a lot. In some cases, researchers say that people should be physically and mentally healthy in life, people should exercise and eat nutritious food, then it is possible to increase the life of people, although I think this is not completely correct.

^^^ Yet insurance questions never have anything to do with life expectancy, except that the insurance applicant starts to follow insurance company rules by obeying some of the answers the companies are looking for.

Cool

So in your world
What planet are you from? It's your world, too, isn't it?

none of these are related to life expectancy: smoking, practising climbing and mountaneering, have suicidal tendencies
Now, I see a little about you. You can't even read and comprehend, it seems.

... You are going to rewrite the manual of underwriting just by the mere force of your non-argument?
Show me where a question has anything to do with life expectancy. If you can, I will show you how people who follow insurance company rules have actually changed their life expectancy.

I think you have been eating to much deer meat lately, but hey, go start your own insurance company with your criteria - I like testing theories.

Actually, I haven't been eating enough ruminant meat. And people who do would be a lot healthier if they ate it raw, but didn't eat any of the blood. Everybody knows that cooking destroys nutrients.

If English is a second language for you, it's understandable that you wouldn't understand English writing all the time.

Third world countries tend to have lower life expectancies and this so because of the high level of corruption in these countries. Citizens of these countries do not have access to good health care facilities and even when there is one, only the average Citizens can afford it, thereby making the poor masses rely on mostly unprofessional medical advice.
Yet, the political leaders and few elites patronise private hospitals or fly to developed countries for proper medical attention.

This same issue of corruption has has put this countries and her Citizens in a state where they don't have access to good and accessible roads, hence, the numerous accidents and deaths recorded.

No proper regulations for pollution and the kinds of food and drugs people take into their bodies. Insecurities also are not well managed.

The absence of basic amenities make people think and pressure themselves too much over responsibilities they cannot take care of and things they cannot and could not afford. They over labour themselves with little or no resting. All this issues affect life expectancies in these regions.

Very simple to figure out. Just try to get life insurance with any company. They will ask you to fill in the paperwork with plenty of questions. Those questions are the main factors: Age, smoking, previous diagnoses, suicidal tendencies, sports like climbing, scuba, martial arts,... You family illnesses and hereditary conditions,...

Apart from that, obviously in which country and area your live and how rich you are.

This could be some common causes
1. War, 2. Air pollution, 3. Land pollution, 4. Water Pollution, 5. Hurricane, 6. Flood, 7. Fire & car incident, 8. Food
I think these are common factors that affect life negatively the could lead to death and reduction of age limits. In generally when the ecological system is not suitable for the inhabitance then it leads to death.

Two of the major factors for increasing life expectancy are:
1. Eat more meat from ruminant animals;

I have heard that animal product is good for the body but I don't know the extent that we can say it helps the life expectancy. But you mentioned from ruminate animal and that makes it more curious for me. What is special with ruminate animal food that it becomes the choice raising life expectancy or it is because of the fact they feed from plants. Ruminate animals are herbivores and they majorly feed on plants, so you kind of linking such to life expectancy?

Plants have a certain limited nutritional value.

Ruminant animals have loads of varieties of good bacteria in their stomachs.

The plants that ruminants eat are converted by the good bacteria into all kinds of nutrient chemicals that the plants don't have out in the fields. These nutrients make ruminants healthy and capable. Consider dear and elk. They are fast, powerful animals... and they live youthful-like lives right up to within about 2 weeks of their old-age death.

When lions and other carnivores eat ruminants, they become fast and powerful. It's because of the special nutrition in ruminant meat.

Life in people should naturally be 120 or 130 years. People aren't healthy. That's why they die so young. Ruminant meat helps them live longer because of the varieties of nutrients in this meat, that they can't get anywhere else.

I am not an expert, but I would include some factors like access to medical services, stress (coming from both workplaces and schools), access to healthy food (instead of ultra processed ones).

In general, life expectancy is high when both body and mind can be properly be taken care of by ourselves and if not by other people whose work is to help others, doctors, psychologists, psychiatrists and spiritual guidance, in the case the person also seems to be in need of it.

If a country also encourages it's population to practice sports, through public pools and arenas, then even better. Here it is rather difficult to find a well-kept place to practice football or basket, unfortunately.

yes, body and mind must be cared for and must always be healthy. because if the mind is full of stress and negativity, it causes the body to get sick easily. what must be prioritized is a pattern of life and thoughts that must always be positive. because the more mature a person will definitely think more about the life he has.

I guess we have several horrible global occurrences that affect the life expectancy in different categories and are peculiar to individual own environments.

Could you be talking of flooding, drought or bad planting and harvest due to climate change? These factors could also have their own added negative effect if not directly to health but may cause anxiety, depression and leading to high blood pressure and its attendant effect. Our environment is also important to our survival like when you consider the hazards of bad extraction and mining of crude oil. This process sometimes are shabbily done, leaving the waters polluted which causes reduction of sea foods and fish which forms the major source of income for those living in riverine areas for example those in Niger delta (Nigeria).

Many factors play a role with the key among them being pollution, habits and sometimes, culture.

However,  it seems there should be more that affect life expectancy that I would love to know. Let's discuss.

I consider heath care as a very big factor.
I am a Nigerian and I have lived in the rural area of the country and I have also lived in the 3 major cities of Nigeria (Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt). There is something about the rural dwellings. Most of them die because of far proximity of hospital to their homes. Before the rural dwellers could transport a patient to the hospital, they will die.

Also, the rural dwellers do not take malaria as a serious sickness as they neglect to treat it. And most of them die of malaria. Some will get to the hospital and no money for treatment as there is no health care package for the citizens.

Yes your right, as a young man, growing up from the rural area of my state I found it difficult to access good hospital for health care because we had nothing like that so even when there was an emergency we had to get a vehicle going to the city where we can find a hospital before the person will be attended to and most times the person who needs medical attention end of dying before getting to the hospital. And in the case of rural dwellers not being cautious about the deadly virus malari, I think most of them believe in self madication so when they are attacked by malaria they find it difficult to go to their local chemist which is the popular names they call people who administer drugs to them in the rural areas simply because they think the money they will spend on drugs will help them to get some food because of the level of hardship in the rural areas.

Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) has been proven effective for years for malaria. So has chlorine dioxide. But the medical tried to downplay HCQ when covid came along, because it was effective for covid, as well. The law is that if a drug in use is found that protects against a virus, then a vaccine can't be approved for virus use. So, the medical had to downplay HCQ so they could make money with their poisonous covid vaccines.

What factors affect life expectancy?

Ukrainians and Russians would say, war, guns, rockets, explosives, tanks, fighter jets, etc., etc.

Cool
Bad situations around the world, aside from all the weapons and all those intercontinental anti-ballistic missiles flying over the space of some war nations, we have other factors that also affect those in the sub-Saharan desert who die of starvation.

I guess we have several horrible global occurrences that affect the life expectancy in different categories and are peculiar to individual own environments.

When it comes to food and drinks we all have a choice. If we choose to include a lot of sugars and processed food into our diet, we'll shorten our lives. As far as alcohol goes it's healthy in moderation. It's proven that drinking wine is good for your blood and beer is good for your bladder Wink

Alcohol good for the bladder?  Grin That sounds funny but to add to that, I have read that alcohol is not very good to the body especially when growing older. We need to balance the alcohol intake and any other thing going into our system including food. We need to take balanced and nutritious food plus fruit and those will nourish our blood cells, build them and increase our immune system to fight against germs in our system.

Yes beer is good for you in moderation because of its diuretic effect. It flushes through your kidneys and bladder decreasing risk of kidney stones. It may sound funny but it's not about alcohol content at all. You can buy beer with only 0-2% of alcohol and it will have the same effect. Low alcoholic beer hes no negative effects, as you'd need to drink a lot of it to feel anything.
I agree that alcohol isn't good for us, but small amounts are completely fine. It's important not to get drunk to the point where you wake up with a hangover, since it's a sign that your body has reached the point of chemical imbalance.

Expectant could either be a foresight towards achieving a great thing in a due specific time or an opposition as an enemy would expect your downfall in other to rejoice against it.

When you owe, you are expected to pay back and when you own a lot, you are expected to spread out.

The societies and it's governance bodies has lot of side to sides expectations.

The societies expects the government to have interests in their feelings and thoughts and not just about the day to day life facts.
They expects the government to maintain the proper laws and orderliness and making provisions for human essential basic survival needs, standing an equality in the society.

The government expects resourceful ness and not a liability from the society and the laws abidment.

The life expectancy of a human being, of course, will vary in each country. Even in each region within a country can be different. So basically from an environmental point of view it will definitely have a big influence on human life expectancy. Because in an environment where we live, it is there that our character and character as humans will be formed, as well as other habits, such as maintaining health and what kind of food is consumed.

Then what definitely affects human life expectancy wherever it is, is education and knowledge. Why does this have an effect? That's all because, by having knowledge, especially about health, it is certain that you will be better able to maintain your health, by managing your diet, exercising, and getting enough rest. So the point is to be able to maintain a healthier lifestyle. So in that way it is clear, that having education and knowledge, it is clear that it will definitely affect the life expectancy of a human being.

And what will definitely have a big influence on the life expectancy of a human being, is the economy. Because not a few, people who commit suicide because their life economy is in a bad state. And not only that, if the economy is in a bad state, for most people, it will be stressful and even depression. Meanwhile, humans who are often stressed or depressed usually tend to get sick more quickly, and if the stress or depression continues, the results will definitely be life threatening. So that's why the economy also has a big influence on the life expectancy of a human being.

Hygiene and medical care made life expectancy skyrocket in many countries from what it used to be in the 40s and 50s. Just look at the life expectancy of newborns. Infants used to die a lot more often than they are now in countries with high level of medical care.

Don't forget the vodka factor!
That's why men in Russia die in peace time 20 years before their wifes and 40 years when Putin does something stupid!
Dude? Vodka isn't the only one alcoholic drink, whiskey, wine, rum etc you can name it.

Yeah right, funny how you named  some stuff  russian  don't drink at all like rum and you forgot beer, don't bother looking at statistics, you have no clue on the scale of illegal alcohol production in Russia. Fuck this shit when the health ministry had to force companies to bottle up tinctures and other products containign alcohol in smaller vials to keep people from buying them as vodka substitute there is something that stinks more than Philadelphia and I don't mean the cheese.
https://iz.ru/news/629922

Maybe he live in a country where most of people afford to consume healthy foods and drink.

You're telling me Europeans are eating processed food that is more healthy than what African eat? Screw food and other stuff, two centuries ago we were eating natural unprocessed unpolluted food and still dying in the 50s, the real life changing impact was hygiene and when we stopped shitting where we eat and sleep.

Environment do give some impact to life expectancy, but obviously healthy foods and drink are the most important thing to effect life expectancy. Maybe he live in a country where most of people afford to consume healthy foods and drink.

Food and way of living. The food that we take plays a vital part in our life expectancy. If you're constantly eating unhealthy and fast foods, then you know that it won't be long enough before you'll get a disease related to it. However, I've seen old people in my country that have told me that you can eat whatever you want and whatever you wish to but the important thing is to enjoy the food and you eat it happily. I do understand that there are studies that if you're always happy, your life can go on for so long. Another thing that makes our lives easier and quicker is the technology that we're having right now, like the gadgets that we own, smartphones, laptops, iphones, etc.

Better health care,  economic stability and a cleaner environment are all instrumentals to longer life expectancy once the above-mentioned factors are sorted out then you can expect an individual to live long enough to at least 100+ unless there is an incidence such as war or other factors that could force one exit from the earth,  but apart from that,  having all those things mentioned in place can guarantee longevity.

In my country,  there is low life expectancy and not many leave up to 100 because the average life expectancy here is around 65-70 years but we have some families that have the gift of living for a long and my ground pa is one of such people because he left for 115 years and I Africa that is long enough to be celebrated because not many have the privilege to live to the years.

Access to modern healthcare along with proper nutrition explain the disparities at the far ends. Among the top 20%, you'll see the life expectancy vary among developed countries despite having equal access to modern healthcare. The confound there is obesity rates, ie too much nutrition.

You become so wealthy as a country that you eat yourself to death, and the government will eventually subsidize your lifestyle and cover your medical bills. Japan has a high life expectancy and a single digit obesity rate.

I would be dead already without free heathcare. At the time i needed it we couldn't have afforded it, so at least in my case it lengthened my life exectancy. I quit smoking and i drink occasionally, eat heathy, no meat anymore and i exercise a lot.

Also i see education affecting to my life expectancy as i understand better how to prevent getting sick. Pollution isn't really issue where and average life life expectancy in here is 82 years. I might live older than that if my earlier smoking doesn't catch up. I just took MRI scan, blood samples and everything for another issue and turns out i am healthy as i can be except my cholesterol a bit high.

For me it is the environment the biggest factor and I will make a simple example which most probably not many people know. There is a tribe somewhere in Pakistan where people live long enough up to 150 years from what I have heard and they never are ill of cancer, which is because of apricots being in huge quantities there and their core of such fruit is a natural anti cancer cure. The environment there is also mountain where the pure fresh air is always available much different than where we live in the super polluted cities and we have huge cases of different fatal disease around us.

Yes I think the major thing that will affect how long or short that we live on earth is how we have treated our health and that is why the countries with good medical care survive more. Apart from curative health system, the environment and nature also affect it. Our inner health is most important because we don't see what we have inside of our body, if we take proper care of what goes inside our body, our inner hygiene is important. Like you mentioned the role of apricot whose health benefits are numerous including good digestion, good eye sight and general health.

Sickness and diseases is a major factor to life expectancy, if you look at the world today there are so many communicable diseases that has made a lot of people die prematurely. Let's take example of Covid-19,we know the threat that it has caused to human life. So many people  died of this disease and it has drastically reduced the world population. Terrorism is another factor that has affected life expectancy because these terrorist are everywhere in various countries terrorising and killing people daily and the painful part is that in my country, there is nothing the government is doing about it. Everyday by day these terrorist keep on recruiting new men to join them in carrying out their havoc.

However,  it seems there should be more that affect life expectancy that I would love to know. Let's discuss.

Migration, people from across the world migrates from one place to another, this mobility of the people also affect life expectancy of the people confined in a particular location, there's also war and natural disasters which is the key factor which triggers people to migrate from one place to another for a better settlement, food, water and shelter also causes a change in this because people will always depends on them for survival, these are the basic needs while accident as well is another major factor that affect life expectancy, people fall a victim of accidents in different categories and some managed to live while others die along the process, sickness is also what is very common and what the people eat as well, all these mentioned above affects life expectancy and is common to every geographical settings of the world.

There are indeed many factors which affect life expectancy, some posted above. I' m not
sure war and conflict are the biggest threat, I would say disease and illnesses are the biggest
and having access to a working health system is extremely important.

What seems to be trending currently is the environmental issues and the threat they pose to us
like natural disasters from climate change and food security from the decline in wildlife
and the imminent extinction of certain species. Taking this a step further, current food production
practices are probably not actually doing us any favours in the long run.

War and conflict have led to a decrease in life expectancy ratings in most countries. When I consider how many people have died in Ukraine, Syria, Afghanistan, Sudan, Nigeria, and other conflict-torn nations, it will be evident that many productive youth have been cut short in their prime. In my country, armed conflict, crime, and police brutality have killed more people than some sicknesses.

Poverty is another silent killer. When people cannot afford to eat balanced meals, they become exposed to sickness and disease. Many people die of hunger every day. Some persons live in a highly unconducive environment exposing them to sickness and death. I have seen people die because they can't afford to buy drugs that cost less than $1. Poverty has also made many people not access quality health facilities which have led to death.

OP most of the nations that has high life expectancy rate that your mentioned has reasonable governments that care about the welfare of their citizens.
