In 2007-2010, I was also fond of GPT sites. There were a lot of them at that time. But something serious did not work out, since all the offers were tied to one IP.
And I also remember the time when bitcoin payment appeared, when bitcoin appeared, and I really regret not choosing payment in it.
But even then it seemed that faucet or axle boxes were the cheapest way of earning money.  Smiley

Oh, that's nice!

Yup, completing offers had lots of restrictions because they need valid entries before crediting. Too much effort so I skipped them :p

I think BTC payments were introduced like several years back. Last time, it was all Paypal, Payoneer, PayZa, etc...

Then there are those that complete offerwalls or GPT tasks. Many faucets do offer that so not just vanilla

After seeing this thread, I thought I got into an old thread. Are faucet still relevant? I don't even remember the year when I first heard about them. I am not assiduous to solve the captcha every minute and get a penny for it.  you can spoil your eyesight, from constant sitting at the monitor, so as not to miss the next dust.
Instead of setting aside time for regular reading and mastering all the subtleties, as you say, you suggest sitting and wasting time on nonsense.

OP post with usual merit fishing.  Sad

Honestly speaking, I still do. Grin

But rather than withdrawing the funds, I spend them on advertising for my website. They operate pretty much the same as PTC module which were mushrooming like over 1 decade ago, just with cryptos.

Moreover, how can faucet protect newcomers from fraud and theft of their funds?

Check out the Freebitcoin thread. From time to time, you'd see a newbie wondering where did his funds go and Quin would reply that the anti-cheat system flagged the multi-accounts and banned them all. Smiley

The OP has researched on faucet and has a good definition about faucet on his post, but I wonder why still suggesting it to -Newbies- I have heard people thinking crypto-currency is a scam after accumulating coins from faucet that was miserable/small and they restricted them from withdrawing it.
If a legit site is used, there should not be a problem but there are some sites that might be fake, I did not go more into faucet in the past, but I know some cloud mining are fake, also very possible there are fake faucets, some might be used to scam newbies very possible because it it is newbies that make use of faucets, but later got discouraged after seeing it as a waste of time.

And I would not think the love for free Bitcoin like faucet, is what encourages Ponzi schemes in  crypto-currency, scam give away.
I do not think so too, such scam like this is just because newbies do not know much about crypto an no nothing about scam yet, greed is the other reason people get successfully scammed.

It is important to keep in mind that a lot of the popular faucets are not really faucets at all but are just gambling websites offering a chance to win free Bitcoin.
Just like freebitco which is recommendable, not for the faucet because faucet is just a waste of time but for gambling and having good reputation.

... underlisted here are the different faucets we have to mention few.

Moon bitcoin
Contiply
Bonus bitcoin
BTCclicks
Satoshi quiz
Fire faucet.
Coinpayu
Faicet crypto
Bit sun
Bitcoin Aliens

I don't know how you can put a list like that, and not mention freebitco.in which is probably the most reputable faucet. I don't use it anymore. I used it a while ago, like almost everyone I guess, who at the beginning of getting to know Bitcoin we use faucets, because as mentioned they are a waste of time.

Now at the time in the past they may have seemed like a waste of time too, but they gave whole bitcoins.

Those who held for a long time obtained great profits at 0 investment cost. In the case of freebitco.in, if you are lucky you can also get up to $200 in one run. It is like winning the lottery, the probability is very low, but it is free to play.

I strongly advise begginers in Cryptocurrency to start with the very little accumulated earnings from faucets to get used into the system before fully engaged in it, which helps lower the level of risk and fraudulency that might endangers beginners to get discouraged and find it difficult doing crypto.

Unless it's a lightning faucet(if one actually exists), then I'd say nah. It would take good amounts of time to be clicking captchas to actually be able bitcoin; and to add to that, you can't even play with the received bitcoin much because the transaction fee would use up all the sats you earned.

Bitcoin faucets are simple ways to obtain some Bitcoin for free. The difficulty of doing faucets is making the scheme rewarding enough to justify the effort, however faucets still do exist, and are used by a lot of Bitcoin newbies. It is important to keep in mind that a lot of the popular faucets are not really faucets at all but are just gambling websites offering a chance to win free Bitcoin.

Have you tried one and got rewarded 4 satoshi if you solve the captcha every hour? Faucets are not profitable. If bitcoin is $50000, you get rewarded 4 sat every captcha you solved every one hour, that will amount to $0.002 every hour. Is that not a waste of time? You will have to solve it 500 times to earn just $1 and that will take days if not weeks.

I don't know how good Bitcoin faucets are currently, but I think they are a thing of the past.  Right now , I believe they are just a total waste of time and resources. One may even end up downloading malicious apps or visiting malicious sites masquerading as faucets

So faucets can still endanger the security practices of beginners.

I never used any faucet, but I am just fine.

I've really thought about bringing in this topic here talking more about faucets and what its offers, types and so on.

What is faucet:
They are smallest amount of btc offered as a reward to completing a particular task or workdone online using either the mobile application or directly from the website.
It is also sometimes reffered to as begginers demo of first approach on Bitcoin so as to help them know, study and get acquainted with the Cryptocurrency trading and so on before the Bitcoin or any other crypto is fully launched by a begginer, this help in avoiding errors regarding handling of wallets and avoiding scams.

Faucet shouldn't be mistaken for a Token, they are two different things and underlisted here are the different faucets we have to mention few.

Moon bitcoin
