Nothing serious is going on and what we are seeing now is what anyone should have expected after a huge serious unwarranted buying of bitcoin while looking for a quick profit. Bitcoin is not a get rich quick scheme and that is what most people are forgetting, Let us see the bright future instead.

There is no reason to panic and do not worry next time it happens in the future, you will know it is a normal thing and usually when bitcoin is going down, all other coins are following it as well.
The price of bitcoin is volatile and nothing can say about the price will it fall or increase? But the right decision is to keep your bitcoin in your wallet for some more time because one should not be panic about the price. Up down is the nature of bitcoin and it is also the attraction for the new investors because when they think about the price in the next one year, they invest their money for high margins of profit.

Don't panic if bitcoin will goes down much better to hold your bitcoin and wait until bitcoin price will rise again so that you will get good benefits and to earn high profit, and also that is normal if bitcoin is dump be patience because crypto currency is volatile in this cryptowork you need to accept that bitcoin will dump because it is depend on the market demand, and that is the time you can buy cheaper bitcoin and you can keep it or make it a investment because bitcoin price increase every day.

I see what happens to a lot of coins starting to go down in price like BCH that cost high yesterday then down again and this almost everything happens to other coins but there are some coins that have a pretty good rise like this BTS is still a reasonable thing there are some coins up and down so you must be good at picking which coins you want to invest.

Yes it is not pleasent to check  our wallets today, be patient everything will go back,  at least I would like it to happen))) any way it is bad time  to sell
Everything will definitely go back and be back to normal eventually but I would not expect some crazy movement to the top overnight. This would keep testing each previous top supports until we finally get to the initial ATH, but at least for now, we have some sanity in the market and we expect that those who are just trying to look for profit must have reduced by now and take their time to learn more about bitcoin when the price starts rising back.
You are quite right it is not the right time for selling your bitcoin, because the price is very low and selling is a foolish decision. Bette to hold them and the price will grow again and it is predicted that 2018 is the year of bitcoin. Its price will be more than 30000 dollars. Many people are thinking about that price which is beyond the imaginations. One can earn a huge profit if he shows some patience today.

Some coins decrease and some others increase. I think is normal, because depend of the market.
No need to worry. End of the year coins before decrease it will up again. So we just wait until coins increase.
People are taking out their money from coins to spend on the Christmas and after that they will invest back and prices will click back and same is the story with the bitcoin its prices have fallen down from 19.5k to 13k and those who were newbies were worried that how this happen but the experienced ones take it normal and they kept their coin in their wallets and their time will come soon when they will be enjoying profit.

Lol. We should sue you on this forum for doing that, so what happened to coloring the moon on your signature Grin … Guys, if you are looking for one of the whales that did this to you, here is one of them.

Jokes apart, this is normal and I see it as whales trying to shake the market a little bit since it is their profit booking points and also year end closing for trading and make all the weak hands to disappear while they take some good profit back in few days. To cut the long story short, stop giving your money to whales if you are panicking and selling at loss.

What is really interesting here is fact that we have only like 10 major coins which were pumped in the last 24 hours.
Every single other coin lost momentum - just take a look at https://coinmarketcap.com/ red numbers are all over that place.
It is exactly as some of you said - every altcoin followed bitcoin and we have a HUGE correction of the whole crypto-economy.
I expected something like this to happen sooner and hit us harder - so I am kinda happy that bitcoin is not back to sub 10k USD level.

Previously, there was unjustified growth today, a logical correction of all altcoins and we have some bad news.
So, yesterday it became known that the emitter of tokenized dollars Tether was the victim of the attack of hackers. Also recently, Dan Morhad, director general of investment company Pantera Capital, suggested that before the growth continues, the price of the first crypto currency will collapse by 50%. So will see more correction
The growth was really unjustified and obviously newbies were not buying into bitcoin for the right reasons except for the fact that they wanted to make quick profit which cause us to have a huge pull back like this. It is normal after a huge run and sometimes when some panics are created in the market, but it is nothing to worry about.

A time will come when the whales will see that as they keep dumping, people will keep buying until they lose out. That would be when the scaling issue must have been solved though.

Notting serious is happening than traders are trying to take profits across all the exchange platforms and that couse a serious unexpected corrections in altcoins and bitcoin pricing. I also sold some of my holding the day before yesterday and I think we would need to resume serious upward price movement from next year. I hope we would expect to see the kind of blessing we have in 2017 next year? Bitcoin has blessed us this year because we have positive movement through out the year and I think I have a fruitful year.
One year of gold for Bitcoin in 2017, but the chaos that happened yesterday was the most frightening scenario of the year. Fortunately, the crypto money markets have managed to recover, I do not expect to see such speculative actions in 2018.

I think so that btc will up other coins will up also. Some coins today is in green while btc still fall down its price. I think btc has the correction most taking profit because of this holiday season. So usually it will back to normal again.

I'd also like to know this.

It seems its either 1. A bitcoin crash taking down all other alts with it as collateral damage, or 2. Something in the environment of cryptos that has influenced such changes.
Collateral damage. it's very difficult to explain, because on many exchanges, main based currency for trading are Bitcoin.
So when Bitcoin was going fall, it can means they moving Btc to altcoins such as Eth, Xrp, Iota, etc. When they sell altcoins to Bitcoin, it should be Bitcoin going to raising, but in fact it's nothing happen.
And now both altcoins and Btc going to down at same time, i have no idea how this happen.

People look at it this way, as for new investor or new to crypto currency, when they heard about bitcoin in the news or some article they were hook instantly with the profit it might give, but then a huge problem came in, transaction were delay and new investor need to pay a huge amount of money (50$ now) just to get their bitcoin into some wallet or something, these kinds of problem with the no. 1 coin in the market will really have its effect on other coins since they are all crypto and almost promise the same thing to the user.

To me this just seems as if those that made the price jump for all alts are just getting their money back that is all, when almost all the market is red there are only two possible explanations something happened in bitcoin or this is just a massive correction, and since I have not heard of any big news coming from bitcoin my best guess is that this is just simply a massive correction.

It is only a temporary price deep in the major coin; bitcoin which is presently having its toll on the altcoins. This dip is expected majorly at this point of the year where they will be a major transfer into the fiat values. I also believe this that it will help correct the bitcoin price and also fix space for the growth of altcoins. As long as bitcoin is given the stage alone, no other coin can really have a significant value. Some of us are really waiting for the bitcoin dip so as also help with the altcoin rise in value.

I would say that it's normal because every market trend and movement that happens with altcoins are mainly affected by bitcoin, being that it is the "main" coin and the big gun that controls the highest value, market, and interest among others. It has been affecting altcoins negatively since it started its surge last November, and I think that as the price of bitcoin neutralizes, it would be a good time for altcoins to improve in value if the developers see fit to pump in their coins. Also, it is quite normal for something that rises to experience some drops at some point. No asset, even gold, oil, fiat money, and all others in the market are immune to any negative movement that would affect it's price to drop. But, like most replies say, I think once bitcoin adjusts, it would regain its strength back like what happened before.

The rich "whales" are going out from crypto currencies to money. But it is a good chance to buy some coins when the prices is not so high.

I've been hearing this story of whales cashing out and switching to fiat for years.
Every time there is the tiniest drop there is a whale that exists or come conspiracy plan on how the overlords are destroying crypto.

A drop from 18 000 to 13 000 is sending people into full panic mode but a 20x increase in 20 months is pretty normal, isn't it?
Bitcoin is still up 68% in the last 30 days.  68% !!!!!!

As for the other coins, who gives a damn, they always follow bitcoin, after all, it's altcoins we're talking about.

damn it. I want to go in again but it tooks soooo long to send fiat money to the exchanges.
Such a pain. fiat money ;-)

I think this will give an opportunity for investors of bitcoin to buy bitcoin now and hold & sell later. A lot of people in our country are getting weary in investing in bitcoin because a lot of people are mushing blasphemous rumors that bitcoin is fake and scams which alarming a lot of people especially those are not familiar in bitcoin. When in fact it is not even the way they stated it to be because bitcoin is a currency which gives financial freedom users the way they deserved it to be.

Market was totally overheated. No buyers left. In addition some FUD and Bcash shilling by MSM.
Therefore profit taking in big portions and then lots of panic selling happened.
I'm not sure if we reached the bottom to be honest.
Still a possibility we could go lower, maybe testing $10k. Have a close eye on the chart for the next few days.
