I thought it had great potential and is also one of the few altcoins supported by ledger nano s...so then why is it tanking so much?

They got hacked for either 9.3 or 9.8BTC, some leak in their wallets, unknown what all is lost, exchange gone, term deposits canceled, 2.0 delayed again would be my guess for the recent drop.
