What advantages do you see in investing in a bitcoin ETF, rather than in bitcoin itself ?

For people who want to invest in Bitcoin without holding coins by themselfs.

Well yeah people would be trading your Bitcoin for you, but isn't the point of an ETF is that there are multiple things to invest into besides just 1 with an ETF. Generally ETFs operate with multiple different investments.

What was the latest update on it?
Seems pretty dead imo.

The only thing I found was the following article which doesn't have really any new news for us.
The content of this article is an excerpt from “Digital Gold: How Bitcoin Can Become a Mainstream Investment,” included in the Q4 2015 issue of the Finance Magnates Quarterly Industry Report.

Many here seem to think that trillions of Dollars will pour in from traditional stocks, including retirement accounts (yeah right). This would force the twinkies to buy more on Bitcoin exchanges and thereby making hodlers rich.

The Twinklevoss twins have changed their mind, no more ETF. Gemini's where they're at, as crappy as it is. Do we really deserve a crappy ETF from the twins?

I can't speak for certain, but I wouldn't be all that surprised if it was dead at this point. An ETF based around Bitcoin (for payment or following the price of Bitcoin) would have a hell of a hard time being able to turn a profit at all.

Maybe it is still up and kicking, but I no idea right now.
