Utter bullshit.  The development is not currently controlled by anyone, and it will not be controlled by anyone then either.  Anyone can run whatever client they like at any time.

I said if it forks and Segwit2xcoin becomes "the Bitcoin" then it shows that Bitcoin, not only development, can be controlled by the few at the top of the food chain.

Look around you. It is happening in the real world. It starting to be shown that it is the same in the Bitcoin world.

Luke Jr(blockstream) moderates the bips. - https://github.com/bitcoin/bips/blob/master/README.mediawiki
Gmax(blockstream) moderates the tech discussions - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=6.0
rusty russel (blockstream)controls the mailing list - https://lists.linuxfoundation.org/pipermail/bitcoin-dev/2015-October/011591.html
other blockstream employees decide without any large consensus to close pull requests

take a look at this example
https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/pull/11128

sipa closed it the same day it opened because he and his colleagues decide its not following the blockstream 2015 roadmap

WAKE THE HELL UP

Anyone can run whatever client they like at any time.
and have you seen the biased code added by blockstream employees that auto ban any other client that wants to do things that are not blockstream roadmap

just wake up

take the november bip for growing the baseblock. blockstream have already decided to make it an altcoin and in all ways possible avoid letting consensus decide. they are already building walls to stop anyone using satoshis consesnus mechanism of decentralised voting and avoid changes being made unless blockstream allow it

Are we finally seeing the benefits and advantages of Segwit transactions happening?
There used to be a graph here showing the percentage of SegWit transactions that were being sent.

I can't see it anymore, but last time I checked it was drastically less than 1% of all transactions.  I would say that it's not having much of an effect yet.
If it forks to Segwit2x and it becomes "the Bitcoin" then we can now see that its development can be controlled by a few corporations.

It actually happened twice.

Are we finally seeing the benefits and advantages of Segwit transactions happening? Or is it the miners finally doing their best to reduce the backlog in the mempool?

We have seen a lot of empty blocks mined by Antpool. That makes you question why they keep doing that if the unconfirmed transactions are over 50,000. It is now good to see other miners are cleaning it up.

I speculate that Bitmain have started to mined using Segwit software. Initially, they are to blamed for the backlogs because they mined empty blocks. Last time I checked, Antpool is already using Segwit to mine as well. I don't know though about Slush Pool   and any other big mining company. I think its needs some time or a graceful period to see what the impact of Segwit. Although there will be another ongoing scenario in November, but at least the benefits of using Segwit can be slowly felt if that is the case now.

Yes, they have to run the Segwit2x software because they made a promise with the rest of the Bitcoin oligarchy who agreed with and are included in the Silbert Accord.

If it forks to Segwit2x and it becomes "the Bitcoin" then we can now see that its development can be controlled by a few corporations.

Miners switching between BTC and BCH... Once they focus on Bitcoin we can see the real Segwit potential.

Why was there such a sudden decrease in the mempool, how can this happen?

edit: and why is embedding images not working? Smiley
