I think that if there is a bitcoin bubble and it does pop then the whole cryptocurrency market will crash. Sadly most alts aren't judged off their own merit and in fact the value of bitcoin, at least that is the impression I have.
yeah

hello,
If the financial bubble (assume) Bitcoin breaks down, whether the price of alternative cryptocurrencies like ETH, Ripple, LTC, etc. may be going up?
what do you think about it? here, I m not saying Bitcoin bubble as "Cryptocurrencies" Bubble,

Most alts don't seem very independent... so based off history, alts will be in bad shape.
"BTC up, Alts down... BTC down, alts down."

If BTC were to just show red candles day after day and just continue downward for a few weeks, I'd just be a blood bath imo.
shit-coins would probably go way below ico if a BTC-bleed drags out .

Hello. I think if the bitcoin bubble bursts it will piledrive all altcoins into the ground and probably will kill 80% percent of the projects. The good ones will recover
I also think that it wont be that devastating as we all think, there are a lot of exciting projects with Proof of Concept (looking at you Ethereum). We will see what the future holds

I think the major thing that will happen is that the altcoins will now be the ones who will take bitcoins place as the major cryptocurrency and there would be competition among the devs of these coins so that theirs will be the top choice.

When the dotcom bubble broke the internet survived and is now hundreds of times more integral to our lives.

Even if the Bitcoin bubble pops blockchain will survive.

Firstly we don't have to think or assume that prices going high with that pace does mean that it is going to pop and if that dream bubble breaks it will take bitcoin to all time low which is not good but it will demolish all other cryptos and again all investors will look for fiat as option which is the worst news for cryptos and all those positive news that are coming for legalization may end with that and all those hard work that we have done to make crypto what it is now goes in vain.So be positive.

Maybe we should figure out WHY the bubble would burst.
To my mind, it will happen becaue people will one day realize that in fact, the better technology / use case wins. Not the hype.

Why should investors get all their money out? It makes no sense. They will switch to other cryptos; remember my words by 2019  Cool

Bitcoin is not a bubble. Crypto is not a bubble, and there won't be a any breakage here. The thing happens is crashes or price corrections that are considered as normal.

For your information about the fact that the all of cryptos are following the bitcoin in the dollar value, if the bubble will be burst and another will be following the bitcoin. as you can see what already happened yesterday bitcoin gets almost 20$ decrease just in short time and the majority of the coin were following the bitcoin.

When Bitcoin bubble breaks, with panic selling effects, all altcoin will be die because the investors lose their trust in cryptocurrency. But, this wont happen in near future.

Based on my observation, if bitcoin is the only ones rising and when the bubble pops, almost all the coins recover. But if the whole market is rising and all coins are raising its price and the bubble breaks, most of this altcoins die.

I hate the term "Altcoins". "Alternative" somehow assumes that these coins have the same purpose like bitcoin.
To me, Bitcoin is nothing more than a prototype of cryptucurrency.

That's why i think when the Bitcoin bubble burst, almost all of the money will float into the Alts. Some will probably bleed out, but there are so many different, legit projects out there that actually satisfy a need.

Great question! A lot of them will crash and never recover. There are way to many alternative currencies in the market. When the crytpocurrency bubble pops, it's these ICOs (with rubbish business plans and thin trading markets) that will see the worst consequence. They'll crash and die and it'll be a great, cleansing activity for the cryptocurrency market!

By the way, all coins will lose value, but Bitcoin and the other 10-20 real cryptocurrencies will regain their value over time.
I like this with your statement.
"All coins will lose value, but Bitcoin and the other 10-20 real cryptocurrencies will regain their value over time".

Now I understand why the new altc price keeps dropping and away from ico prices. Some are worthless and have become junk coins, that's why investors have reduced their interest in ico.

I think if Bitcoin bubble breaks some will move to buy altcoins and I think that moment ethereum would be listed in number 1( assume).

You could be right, there appears to be no real bitcoin news projects. While increasing fees are adding pressure on current bitcoin. But since Bitcoin is the father of all cryptocurrencies. If Bitcoin goes down, most alts will bleed, it will spend years to recover it's trust and we don't want that, if it loses face, all others will too.

The whole thing will fall apart.  Everything will lose value big time.  This will last long enough so a lot of invetors panicsell, then it will go silent and then you buy Smiley  Happened before, will happen again.  Remember 2013-2014-2015.

Facts are more efficient than fud
Bubbles usually affect the whole sector--it's basically a reevaluation after a period of investor euphoria followed by panic.  So likely everything will go down. During the dotcom bubble even Amazon was caught in the mayhem.

its a perfect question but i dont think no one knows  answer. many people bought btc when btc price was 2k-4k $ so many people can convert their btc to fiat. there is a huge profit. than what will do people  after btc goes to under 2k ? no one knows. many people can buy btc again cuz they will think btc will recover again but what if btc cant recover and go under 2k and than 1k even lower ? this is like blackhole Smiley
many people can convert to ethereum but eth has big problem those days. than ltc ? how many people know LTC ? than dash or monero ?
i think btc is like God for cryptoworld so when God die who can survive ?

the coins like ethereum, ripple, litecoin and etc will be going to go up if bitcoin price is down. I think it is the time for altcoin to rise back after "sleep" for a middle time so they can reach the highest price like what bitcoin does. I am sure that there is a time for altcoin to increase again especially if we see the bitcoin is down for these 2 days so altcoin can start to make a good move again. but bitcoin will increase again after this crash and will reach another highest price soon.
BTC is manipulated now. And not to stay on stable price more than day. In this conditions no chance to altcoins growth. Single pump-dump but no stable growth for many or all alts

Sorry but I don't believe that BTC can die without all other alts. He is 'face' of crypto industry and global price decreasing will affect to all complexly. Not one BTC but all together. And if it happens all currencies lost trust. And that's why I think that it's impossible

yeah this is also what im thinking about. if bitcoin pops like a bubble then for sure people will panic and majority of them will possibly switch out or shift directly on altcoins because altcoins are much stable and doesnt break like a bitcoin bubble. these can also help some alts to increase and get out from their comfort zone because i always notice that some other alts are became stagnant and stuck nowadays due to the demand that bitcoin gets on the public. people are always think that bitcoin is the only crytpto  that can be invested for a longer term but infact altcoins are really suitable for longer terms due to the fact that their values are increasing much slower when compared to bitcoins that value tends to pump much quicker in a shorter span of time, yet bitcoin can also work in a short or long term of investments.

It may be going up but in the bitcoin value as the dollar value gets stressed caused by the bitcoin correction. Because the bitcoin is the main coin that gives the dollar value to another altcoin. When it comes to the big correction and another coin will get impact too.
But just keep your bitcoin will better be caused by the bitcoin can be considered as the main crypto to store our value.

It is sure that if the price of Bitcoin reduces, it will definitely help other altcoins to increase its price. ETH, LTC, Monero and all will get benefited.

If BTC goes down drastically then altcoin will panic sell, just look at all bloody altcoin. I understand this is a market risk.
there is always a difficult situation to take a moment, choose to survive or move assets.
and the movement of altcoin is greatly influenced by BTC, it confuses me.

Probably they will fall down in price too like bitcoin. It will because most of them base their price on bitcoin. ETH might not follow the same trend because it already have an established market in USD making it unaffected if ever bitcoin bubble breaks if it really is a bubble. However, they might also not fall down of ever btc goes down in price after all bitcoin and altcoins are cryptocurrencies that are not that related with each other.

First of all, we don't know when the bubble will pop and if at all it will pop or not. In most cases the Bitcoin's price has recovered as soon as the price dropped $1000-$2000 . People start buying BTC when it drops $2000 in price. So there are pretty good chances that the bubble won't pop at all. Secondly, if at all it pops there are only 2 possibilities that could happen and that is that the money will flow either to altcoins or to fiat.
There are pretty good chances for Altcoins to rise since BTC's price will decrease. The potential coins like ETH, DASH, XRP, LTC will rise and the shitcoins will rest in peace. Some of the money will be gone into fiat and might be used later on to buy BTC at lesser price.

Means that even if we strongly believe in the potential of ETH , Ripple, IOTA,etc. for long-term investment, the Bubble would lead them to be nothing.
And I invest in other alternative currencies ( ETH,...)  for a long -term return instead of BTC, It still depend on much the BTC bubble
For now, BTC Bubble is seen as a bubble of cryptocurrencies market at whole

You are spot on, about 95% or more will die and maintain only minimal marketcaps. They will get delisted from the major exchanges for lack of activity and there will be real room for new real projects to come online.
