Wow ... this is a really good question.  I must admit, I never thought about this.  There are like dozens of "legit" etherium tokens, and 100s of crap-tokens, which would all be copied.  Could coins like "Osmise GO Classic" and "Civic Classic" be a thing?  Man ... what a mess that could be ....
The forked just give an impact to the main token just like ethereum and all of the asset will be the same and there will be no change in the ico just like eth and etc. So don't worry about that your asset will be fine.

I guess this all depends on what the forked version looks like, if it was one to accept all the tokens to ETH then I don't think the coins wouldn't move over as well. Obviously with a new name to reflect the work and probably with little to no value. But all of this is very circumstantial.

Would be crazy to see a hard fork with ETH though, I'll wait to see the day I suppose.

the previous answers are assuming with this new ethereum hard fork there will be two chains. and although it may happen since it is ETH we are talking about! but the chances are small because they are forking to change the PoW and anyone who is left behind will have to deal with the bomb they have implanted years ago which kills the leftover chain!

so unless they do something about that, the old chain can not survive.

Just like what happened to the Bitcoin chain when it split, now there is Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash. The people that held Bitcoin at that time had the same amount of Bitcoin Cash on both chains. The same would happen to Ethereum if it forked again, they would have the same amount of Ethereum and whatever forked/split from that chain.

Digix holders had DGD - ETC chain which had to be used to claim the ETC in their DAO.

So yup! Two tokens on two chains

Yes, the tokens are stored as data on the chain. The entire chain will be "copied".
