A quantum processor for mining bitcoins 
It seems like a good idea at first, but wouldn't a true quantum processor effectively gut the foundations of cryptocurrency?The answer would be a scypt based ASIC - well as ASIC as you can get. It would be a bitch, power hungry (hot), the architecture would be horrific due to the memory.
but.... if you can build something cheaper than FPGAs with good density then you have a winner.
Hrm. I'm not ASIC-level, so that's beyond me personally. I thought this was in the works from a few different angles already...but.... if you can build something cheaper than FPGAs with good density then you have a winner.
