We all speak of how this forum is one big family. A family to the best of my understanding supports one another through thick and thin. I'm concerned about our brothers and sisters in Ukraine who are members of this forum and have been displaced from homes for safety mainly and other reasons this period.

-What have members of this forum done individually and what can we do to assist our brothers & sisters from Ukraine?

The best thing you can do is to understand what is really going on in Ukraine. 99% of information is propaganda. If you can understand the truth, it will help to avoid a repeat of this disaster in future.

Not only undestand what is really going on in Ukraine and prevent similar situations in the future, but also disseminate truthful information right now. The Internet is filled with fakes produced by Russian propaganda system. Not only Russian citizens are subject to them, but also people abroad, especially those who a week ago had never heard of Ukraine at all. The more fakes are dispelled, the clearer the picture will become. And the sooner it will be possible to end the war. I will also leave here the link to specific actions that foreigners can take to help people in Ukraine and refugees who have been forced to leave their homes.

Yes. It is true that disinformation is one of Russia's favorite weapons of war. No other country employs disinformation to the degree that Russia does. Russia has a powerful propaganda machine, and it deploys bots and trolls to spread disinformation. The Russian media, for example, does not broadcast any news of shelling and missile attacks on Ukrainian cities, and many people relying only on local media are unaware of this.

Because people are dying, and because many people do not understand what is happening, we need to raise awareness of this fact, speak about it, make sure everyone is aware of it. It is crucial to tell the truth to people in order to avoid the dehumanization of Ukrainians.

(i mention poland as the main refugee settlement area for ukrainians)
what ukrainians and polish should do, is this:

get a list of all the electronics, food, and clothing retailers that accept crypto.
and i mean actual legit businesses with websites (not phishing sites set up last month)

get a list of local locations of settlement points, depots, charities
(legit verifiable)

so that random people can buy items of need for the suffering ukrainians(like care packages) and set the delivery address as one of the settlement points/charities on the frontline that actually meet refugee's/displaced ukrainians.. so that goods get delivered to ukrainians in need without the need of a 'fund organiser' /middleman holding a stash of funds and deciding after receipt how he wants to spend them

for a couple years now i never liked donating money to foodbanks as most of the time that money would be wasted in admin and advertising and other syphoned reasons. where only 10% ended up going to the frontline foodbank service local to me to actually buy food for those in need in my area.
(even other charities like water aid admits that 26% is wasted.. but if you look into the other 74% even that doesnt all go into supplying water to the dehydrated people*)
instead i found a grocery store that accepts bitcoin and does deliveries and so i just buy up a load of food and set the delivery address as the foodbank. that way they got the food without the middleman accountant playing with funds

the beauty of bitcoin is being able to independently organise without needing a central organisation

*
wasted on admin alone: (42.7%)
Fundraising 25.2%
Influencing policy in water, sanitation and hygiene 12.6%
Supporting WaterAid globally 4.9%

one step closer to frontline(57.3%)
Supporting partners to deliver water, sanitation and hygiene 33.4%
Sector strengthening and capacity building 23.9%

but of that 57.3% not all of it becomes an actual well/toilet

Its really not fair what those innocent people are going through in Ukraine, it's really not funny how nobody could help or has offered help, to the Nigerians how would they even help when the  corruption is the country is worse than the war, no insults, but Nigerians needs the help more, there's absolutely nothing they can offer, the only thing we all cab do is to pray to God,as He is the only One that can save Ukraine from this war.
Prayer is absolutely the only help
Bringing in the corruption issue in Nigeria  to the war between Ukraine and Russia is really uncalled for, because the dilemma and conflict  is really bad to the extent that Ukraine beg other nations for help due to the humiliation from their opponent.

I agree with you that prayer is needed  because if it extends to other countries,it is really going to be worst for everyone in the world.

At the time being, we can donate, take in refugees, join protests. In the long run, we need to push locally for communities that might yield much more fair and cool-headed politicians, stand up to governments when needed, take direct action into building a better political and less divided system that could, maybe, ideally prevent things like this.

There's already the addresses that has been made official by Ukraine itself on their social media pages. But before sending any amount, verify the account if it's official and legit.

I know that in these times, many are in need of help and many are willing to help. But the scammers don't have the heart to stop of what they've doing and riding on this matter. And they're tricking donators and changes the official crypto addresses into theirs, so be careful.

This community has lots of members from Ukraine and Russians parts. They can help too by showing actual situation to the world because i do not trust those biased western media. We could run a campaign for gather fund from donation to help refugees from Ukraine and those who affected by this war. I am not in favor of gathering funds for Ukraine military to buy weapons.

If there will be a legit foundation run by our veterans or DT members here that have some close relations with some of our community members in Ukraine or he resides there that we could really trust, I think it's best for us to help them in any way we could. They are suffering, especially civilians and children but what can we do, we don't have anything at all we only have our prayers to the victims of this unreasonable war. I don't really know which country pushed the button to do this sh*t but whoever it is, he will be the one who carries all of the sins.
