My "savings" (eth) was converted to BTC. Thanks to the US govt, I turned their $1200 -> ~0.3 BTC

12 hundred dollars is a big amount now after the effect of pandemic.

I think my mind change now and i will spend this amount to add in my Online business as capital and all the profits will be divided into 2 equal parts and the half will be for Bitcoin and the other half will be for family expenses.

Almost same as my idea.. The only difference is I'm buying other cryptocurrencies and not only btc and im also gonna add some funds to my trading account.
yeah though we are both into Online but i did not stick to Crypto instead i choose to be in real business in which we are now being successful now.
Our small business is now getting Bigger and the volume of sale a day increase more than double.
Hope what you did is also bringing you some good earnings now.

In these difficult times with corona and everything else going on, I think saving is the best idea. We don't know how long this pandemic is going to last so better to prepare for the worst.

I would put half of the $1200 into bitcoins, and the rest I would spread out across 4-5 different alt coins.

Using half of that amount to fills our daily needs and expenses will be good, while we can save the other half amount just in case if we have urgent needs in the future. We can try to earn more money to have more income than we can prepare for the future. But I think that will depend on what we face now, so we can manage that money to cover what we need. And if we can cover everything for our family, then I think saving that money will be better because we can prepare or plan for the future.

In reality, I couldn't earn 1200 which is extremely difficult consistent with the market situation but if I can ever earn then I will be able to keep it for investment. If we invest in bitcoin and hold on thereto for an extended time we will make tons of profit if the worth goes up bitcoin's price is rising and whatever comes up will pump up tons by the top of this year trying to form some money by the trading day.
I wouldn't be discouraged and say that it's difficult to earn that amount.

Time will come and law of attraction will attract that if we believe and work hard. Investing in bitcoin is just part of the process and if you are keen to have it while it's still on the earliest stage, you will never know what the future waits for us who are believing to bitcoin.

For me, i would invest it on bitcoin/eth to make it grow or do small business with the money like selling goods. In this pandemic situation it's really hard to earn money because of economic crisis.
Haven't i mentioned the same?
investing in Bitcoin while your family is having no food?

Yeah i have my holdings in keep safe, but this excess amount will surely go for my online business that now is blooming.
gaining more than double of my small capital.

there are lots of things I'm going to do with my $ 1,200...
  • buy my children's school equipment, like their clothes, bags, shoes, and books
  • pay electricity bills, house rent, and children's school fees
expenses as a housewife at this time really must be right on target, I can't buy personal clothes when I still have the bills, now it's better to keep my money for the family.

It may sound strange, but I would have planted fruit, berry, and nut trees on my piece of land.
This is a contribution to the future. Since these trees can bring me food, and I can sell the surplus.

(and I already have money in Bitcoin and Ethereum)

I would buy ethereum and hold until the price will rise to $ 500 per eth because I sure ethereum will increase very rapidly for a long-term investment I think is pretty good for everybody because the price is still strong ethereum until now.

But you think the USD can never fail, that printing a few trillion dollars to give people "free money" won't do a thing...

I thought your government was borrowing the money?

No one is loaning any more money to my country for the past few years, which is good because those in power would keep wasting it and taking some for themselves. Of course Maduro blames capitalism and US imperialism and just adds more zeroes to the State bank accounts to keep paying wages etc like the budget was infinite, because inflation is a capitalist lie from Americans to destroy socialism...

Not unlike Mugabe and the long list of ruling idiots in 40 centuries of human history...

Savings right now, I guess for me.  Roll Eyes

I kept it to my bank account.
1200 will be 2400 next month and so on. I am being patient for some time in order to accumulate a decent amount and then invest it in something that would give me 2x money.

I don't know if there are any bank would give a lot of return for your saving. As far as I know, the return from the saving is not much, and if you don't have a large amount of money, your interest will not be too big, and that is not enough to cover the fee or cost that we need to pay to the bank monthly.

But maybe in your country, the bank can give you 2x money from saving.

Assuming I have other savings for daily spending other than $1200, then these are my plan.

I will invest the money in crypto, 80% to bitcoin 20% for altcoins and will hold it for long period with my set target price on when to sell.

I would buy with a small portion of it around 40% of the total amount Bitcoin.
The rest would be kept into a savings account in order to endure the coronavirus situation and the lockdown period. I know that it is not the best kind of investment to keep it into a savings account but this pandemic situation has made me be afraid of it.

Spoiled by the system, you think you are doing the right thing. You don't, if your fiat collapses, you lose all your savings. But you think the USD can never fail, that printing a few trillion dollars to give people "free money" won't do a thing...

I'll tell you the right thing: Move ALL into Bitcoin. And when you need to buy something, exchange only the minimum amount required to buy whatever it is you need to buy that day.

If you keep 60% of it, expect to lose that 60% at any time without warning.

It would be a historical event, but once it happens there is no turning back. Printing money is not a joke, my country has done it since 2014 and you can see the results... Foreigners laugh at our 3 USD monthly wage, and that's exactly the road we took. All you see is the price of things going up faster than your wage, until your wage is so ridiculous working doesn't make sense anymore and everyone depends on gov give-outs.

Put it in crypto.
He  don't realize it that his savings will be overcome by the inflation after all of these struggles that we face. Bitcoin reached $9400 for today and it's in correction so I think that's the best idea that I'll do with $1200.

I have already prepared my payment for the bills so it's now time to do things that I want.
