GTX1070 is good for ETH mining but now the profit is not much unless you have free electricity, another option is to sell your rigs and buy bitcoin  instead and hold for long term profit, third  option is to engage in day trading

If you wanna make money. Sell your gpu and buy coins.

If you want to be a nerd, finish last place, and earn pennies, than mine away

Choice is yours

I would put two of them in a computer case and use it as a nice desktop setup then let it fold for the good of humanity when its sitting idle.

I am pretty sure miners are the last people to ever do Folding@home. They are generally only in it for the profits. I think the people that do Folding are mostly students who just use the Universities electricity.

From what I understand you earn points and can redeem those points but its not for anything valuable. So I am pretty sure the OP will just leave his rig unpluged or throw it on eBay/Craigslist.

Find a new coin to mine, many top altcoins already have high mining difficulty, use google search to find fresh coins and make sure you do research first to avoid pump and dump coins

hit or miss, but not bad to power up the rig now. Maybe try a few different these coins and simply hold all.

You can try mining Cryptonight-GPU (RYO) with GTX 1070, you can get around 1297H/s @160 W and i think this the best as compare to other algorithms.

^Follow this man's advice. Sell them before your cards depreciate even further. Once you have money in hand, do whatever you want.

Hello,

I have a RIG with 5 GTX1070 switched-off on last 6 months, there is a way to still earn some money ?

Thx

yes sell those cards and recoup the value of it
no matter what others say
it is not at all worth the time and effort right now to mine any coins as it will output profit in pennies

ZCoin looks best at the moment. Take a look here and be sure to adjust your electricity price Wink

Yeah, I think. Not so much but still you can earn with GTX 1070 and I think Cryptonight coins are the best suit for this Cards. Also, you can check What to mine for more details about what is profitable or what is not..!!

You can use that mining setup on coins with low difficulty or mine coins like ZCL or XMR, they are still profitable, if you can start mining now before btc halving gets here you can end up with better profits because market is looking very good now

That's enough to start mining ETH before the next 2.0 upgrade takes place, unless you are from a country that has huge electricity bills, now that market is taking a good shape it's better to start mining and hold the coins, just a thought

Depends on how much you pay for electricity
Do you know?

if you pay something less than 0.10 USD, you can start you rig to gain some money, but not to much

If you pay more than 0.10 for example, you can sell the GPUs and buy come coins, invest etc

It's hard to say something with no more info
