I don't care because I know the money is safe and never lost.
With apologies, who guaranteed you that your money was safe? First, you invested the money in a manner similar to investing in a risky venture, meaning you invested money that could become a cause of danger and loss to you. I always prefer for myself and for others that when one invests in a speculative asset, they should invest money that they can afford to lose or that won't pose a risk to their livelihood if it takes time to see returns. Ensure that your estimates for daily necessities are below your average level, so they don't lead to difficulties. In other words, any surplus beyond essentials, which is spare money, is better suited for investment in the crypto market.

I understand that in everything good there must be some challenges and set backs.
Yes, you are right that there are challenges and failures to achieve good things, but the challenges should also be chosen which according to your status; you have the strength to face them, and you accept them. Have the competence to do. In other words, it means that you can't match the high volatility standard, but you have to keep your defence standard according to this volatility. Which are found in the cryptocurrency market. And you are going to accept the challenge of investing in it. Challenge refers to the same custody mentioned above.

I wish you the best. What else can I say? You've already sold the land. LOL!

Although this may likely prove to be a good decision in the end as far as ROI is concerned, what you did could have caused you so much, even your life. That was wise as far as putting the money in Bitcoin was concerned, but that wasn't wise as far as selling what's not entirely yours is concerned. You could have been arrested for selling what also belongs to your relatives. Worse, you could have gotten yourself shot or your head chopped off because you're like stealing what also theirs.
Dang, so he stole it? Oh poor guy. Yeah, that was wrong even though he is saying that he used the money in BTC. But he can always sell the BTC or trade it again to a land. He only need to seek a land dealer that accept it as a payment method. I'm sure there are now lots of them, since BTC is not a new thing anymore.

BTC is more volatile than a real estate. I know it can increase more in the long run but it's going to be useless if he will just HODL it and not sell on time while a real estate investment on the other hand, such as land is the opposite of it. It's much stable so the ROI that we can get here is consistent. This is why many investors consider it even if compared to BTC.

Its still never be okay to stole your family's land just for your own decision. We know that investing in Bitcoin is good as it could secure your future, but the fact that your family already have a land then risk it to Bitcoin which requires a lot of time to reach it's highest peak just for you to buy a land again. Remember that selling in the current time would be cheaper, and in the long time when you buy a land or property it would be expensive cause its value is also increasing due to demand of properties. We already know the differences of investing to real estate and to Bitcoin, which in the other hand it involves volatility. I guess you really need huge capital into real estate to make it to investment and give passive income like rental. Good luck to OP, hope he can ROI in just short of time so his/her relationship with the family would be okay.

I would also sell, in my opinion bitcoin has much more to appreciate in the long term than land. But every investment has to take into account the risks, if the fundamentals of bitcoin continue, it would be a great trade.

About one or two months ago I created my first thread about my regrets for not not getting into bitcoin on time when I was first introduced to it by my friend many years ago.
And how I have made a decision to start my bitcoin journey because I now realized I made the biggest mistake of my life back then. Before my very eyes I have seen bitcoin turn the life of people around and gave them financial freedom.
I must say the truth since I made that first post I didn't just feel relaxed. Firstly I went ahead to read the bitcoin whitepaper to have a full knowledge about what bitcoin was all about. And I was glad I read that whitepaper. After that I took some drastic actions to make my first bitcoin investment. I did something which is making everyone around angry and he complaining bitterly about that. I sold our family land and used the money to invest on bitcoin. Initially I told them I want to sell the land and use the money to travel abroad. If I had told them I wanted to invest it in bitcoin they wouldn't have allowed me sell the land. I have tried educating them about bitcoin but they were not just interested to listen to me as they are all illiterates. Now the truth has finally come out and everyone is on my neck to get back the money. I told told them I invested the money, they thought I have spent the money on women and other things. I have been abused several times but I don't care because I know the money is safe and never lost. I understand that in everything good there must be some challenges and set backs. My resolution to invest in bitcoin is final and there is nothing anybody can do about it.

You really take a big risk in order to ensure that your investment is successful. I understand how you feel about the mistake you made in the past by not investing in bitcoin when you had the opportunity because the price had not yet increased to this point, and you don't want to repeat the mistake twice in your lifetime. I also know that you have a strong belief in bitcoin, which is why you sold the family land in order to make an investment. You mentioned that nothing would happen because you know the money is safe, that makes me laugh a lot,and I can tell that you've been wanting to start investing for a while, but you're running out of funds.

I believe that if you continue to educate your family about bitcoin, they will come to appreciate you more than they do now. Their current behavior is a result of their lack of knowledge of how bitcoin works; they may be concerned that you could fall victim to a scam, but in my opinion, they have no belief in this at all. Just keep trying to educate your family about bitcoin and they will come to believe that the money is really safe. I hope your investment goes well, OP. You've been accused of a lot of things, and some of them could even want to start investing too. If they discover that you did the right thing, I think they will also regret not trusting you the first time.

I sold our family land and used the money to invest on bitcoin.
Why do you have to sell your family land just to invest in bitcoin? I will like to know if you have a job. If yes, why don't you just invest from the salary you are earning? You can just allocate a specific amount of money that you will be using to invest in bitcoin. It will be better than selling your family property just because you want to invest. What if things go wrong? Where are you going to start?

You made a great mistake. How I wish you could get the land back. I will have just recommended that you sell the bitcoin and refund the money to the buyer of the land. Investing in bitcoin is really worth it, but you don't have to sell your properties just because you want to invest in bitcoin, what you just did might end up causing a family problem. The land doesn't belong to you, it belongs to your family, so you don't even have the right to sell it without doing the appropriate thing that you are supposed to do with money. You shouldn't have sold the land.

I have tried educating them about bitcoin but they were not just interested to listen to me as they are all illiterates.
Since they were not ready to listen to you, you should have just left them. Not everyone will be interested in bitcoin. Since they are not interested, you should have just stopped disturbing yourself, you should have just invested in bitcoin with your own money. I am sure if you have done that, no one will be disturbing you because they won't even know that you invested in bitcoin if you don't tell them anything.

I would like to ask how you secured your bitcoin. How sure are you that your bitcoin is safe at the place where you store it? From the way you post, I'm sure you are new to bitcoin investment and don't have the appropriate knowledge that you are supposed to have before making an investment.

Do you own your ‘family land’? ‘Coz if not then you also have no rights to use the money you earned from selling it, and to decide where to use it alone. It is a good thing that you invested it to something profitable but you completely did it wrong in this case. Invest only an amount you can afford losing no matter how confident you are to its potential. Also use your hard earned money to lessen casualties if ever the unexpected will happen. You won’t like it as well if other people would do the same thing out of your consent. Sometimes it is not them not having the knowledge but you who is selfish.
I don't support you for selling your family land to invest in bitcoin. For want you have done, you two risk in the investment of bitcoin. The number one risk is your family because the angry ones can use diabolical means to kill you, so by selling the family is a serious risk you have taken. Then the last risk is bitcoin investment. Now that you sold the land to invest in bitcoin how long are you hodling the coins? You have to understand the precautions from the both side before taking a decision which will not affect you. Family land issue should be handled with care.

I exactly felt the same way, selling your family's land could might be a selfish thing to do as you decided to sell if without their willingly to sell it, plus the fact the Bitcoin investment is consider a huge risk to enter as well, so there's no guarantee it could pay back or it might take a long time before you reach your target price with Bitcoin. It's normal for your family to be mad, cause imagine all the sacrifices they have made just to own a property land because nowadays every land are now pricey and expensive as the time goes by. I think it would side with OP, if the case is he's all alone taking this kind of decision, but when it comes to family land, you would need to communicate each other and take everyone's approval, cause for sure every rejection have a reason that's why y'all need to be opened with each other.
Given that he does not totally own it, what about other relatives who also have a part of that money? Maybe they also need it for their personal interests. He could have only used his portion. Definitely one of the examples of people who are just seeing the potential profit and not minding the risks. Hope he won’t go cry someday pf what he have done.

While users will not buy this story, it's still not recommended to sell secretly the land you don't even own. It is a crime by the way. But let's say he really did it and maybe it's his last ditch to achieve his dreams. He better not mess it up by the time he makes money in the bull run and buys the family land back otherwise, it's a huge dispute where siblings fight to death for a piece of land.

Anyway, not believe that story still.  But there are several ways to earn BTC instead that's the way to go. The games and rounds section of this forum allows everyone to earn BTC just by playing the games.

Investing in bitcoin is not a priority, and so many bitcoin experts in this forum and everywhere have always advised people to always invest their personal money and the money they are willing to sacrifice for long, and it should also be the money they can afford to lose. All this advice is because of how volatile and risky bitcoin investment is. Therefore, this is a bad decision because you invested money that you cannot afford to lose because the money is not yours.

For example, if you lose the wallet private key now, your entire family will never believe you, and they will claim that you used the money for something else.
I understand your feelings and your dedication towards wanting to become a bitcoin investor, but your actions were wrong. You could have sold your own portion of the land and used the money for bitcoin investment instead of using all your family money to invest.

I don't know about you guys, but i think this story is bullshit and is made-up, how do you sell your family land to invest in what you do not understand, reading through your posts it is obvious that you don't understand what BTC is. Take note that if you have this plan of selling anything valuable to you because you want to invest in BTC, don't do it; invest in BTC with a portion of your income, and if you do not make enough, work on getting a better source of income.

It is worth mentioning that the BTC network is safe, but your keys are stored locally in your device, so you need to have good opsec to keep your coins safe, and if you don't understand much about BTC like you do, you can lose your coins very easily.

What the OP did is a big risk , but it is a demonstration of the security that that person had, I admire it, but I didn't see the lie well, but I still refuse to analyze that if he told the truth I wouldn't give him the money, that seems very reckless to me what he did and apart from very, very strong, and he did no wrong, I would still have the money saved in bitcoin , because I know that it will go up by this date or next year, but if he did that and still You can keep the money in Savings mode and do it because the idea is that you will Always put it all as a way of investing in the future, and then you can Replenish that money and save with more profits , it is the Best.

However, this story is not clear to me, but if the story is legit, then I would say that Bitcoin investment is not by force. By the way, you are still a Bitcoin newbie that doesn't know or have good knowledge about Bitcoin, so why did you have to sell your family only land just because you wanted to invest in Bitcoin? You have done what you are not supposed to do because, in Bitcoin, investment profits are not guaranteed. Imagine now that you have sold your family's only asset. What if you lose it in Bitcoin investment while trying to get some profits from Bitcoin investment?
Your families are angry at you and you are still not not sure of making profits from Bitcoin investment.

i'm sure there are many people out there who were rejected by those closest to them because they told them the idea of Bitcoin, they didn't get that trust, so keep the enthusiasm for those who tirelessly introduce bitcoin to this world, especially to the people closest to you, i know what you feel and to be honest it won't be easy especially when you give them knowledge about bitcoin sincerely but they don't listen to it because they afraid of being deceived by investing in bitcoin, but you also have to be able to consistently convince yourself to stay in bitcoin, don't give up because you think bitcoin is not profitable at all, look at how the price of bitcoin fluctuates, if you are wise then you can take advantage of the moments of these price fluctuations to make a profit.

The OP has really progressed since the last time he wrote his story, from spending 10 years trying to figure out Bitcoin, to overnight deciding to sell some land and invest in Bitcoin. Now he supposedly has a problem with his family because of that, but if the land is his (and if he sold it, then I guess that's how it is) then what is there to justify to anyone for what he did?

Let's put all that aside and say it's irrelevant - I'm just interested in where the OP keeps his private keys, because if he does it the wrong way, he might be surprised one day and conclude that it would have been better if he hadn't sold the land, because the land is still much harder to steal than Bitcoin, right?

If I am a member of your family, I will also be very angry at you first because of the deceitful means you have used in making we the members of your family allow you sell the family land. And also because of that, Say I am a member of the family that has no knowledge of bitcoins, I will also find it difficult to see any investment in bitcoins you have made as true because you lied already in the first place. If I a member of your family who have knowledge of bitcoins, I will not give you commendations for your actions to invest in bitcoins.

Return back the money for the land back to your family immediately you are able to make profit from it.
I really dont know why that person would you trade his/her family land just to have a money to invest in bitcoin? the land itself is one of the major investment nowadays, If I were his family member, I'll be upset too because of what he did, selling the land without giving the real reason why. In fact, Investing in bitcoin is very risky due to its volatility, there's no certainty when its price goes up and down unlike the value of land, It appreciates from time to time. For me, It's better to invest in bitcoin if you have your own money to use, not from the money came from the property of your family that you've sold.

Do you know how stupid this sounds? The step you took is very annoying and you could end up paying big for it, what if you lost access to that Bitcoin? Just make sure you keep the keys safe and let me tell you a thing about family properties, even if the Bitcoin brings higher amount of gains in the future, the step you took to acquire it will never be erased, even your kids will get to know about it, and my question is can you be proud enough to tell your kids about this? If you child come to your face and tell you that he want to sell the family land to invest how will you feel?

That's the problem with desperation, you don't think straight and it has to be with newbies that only see the positive side of investing on Bitcoin and the knowledge isn't there but with the little they know, they think they know it all. And family property that you know is not for one person is very bad to put it upon himself to sell.
The OP made a decision that he thought would favor him, fine it will but how can he pay back for what will happen after selling the land? What if in the nearest future the family wants to sell the land to save someone's life or something urgent to help the family?
If the land is not there and everything went bad in the investment, OP would live in regret and he can't change the hands of time.

There are really things in life on which we should really be needing to make out some sacrifices for us to be better or getting that kind of opportunity on which we do really let ourselves do looks bad for that kind of possible benefit. We do know that we cant really be able to move forward if we wont really be making out such risks even we do know that it is really that something that could affect out in overall relationship specially into your family. They would really be having that kind of course on which selling out some land for Bitcoin? They dont even know on what it is on which it would really be that normal that they would really be totally against it. Good thing that you had made out some decision that you have lied and telling that it is for other purpose because if not then you wont really be able to successfully be able to invest on.

Now that the investment result or risks that you have done turns out to be positive, Then it is really that for the good of all. They would  all benefit it out and its really something that might
cause for them to show some interest on investing on Bitcoin or would really be knowing about cryptocurrency just because they've seen something positive on what you have done.
For sure they would really be that having those doubts that they have been that skeptical wayback but since its a secret then they would really be blaming you that
you didnt tell them about it.  Cheesy

Some will agree with the action that you did, while some might not agree with it. For them land is more valuable, whereas some will say Bitcoins are good for investments, as it will give good amount of profit in short amount of time. If you ask me then for making profits in shorter period of time, yes it is a good decision. But at many places Bitcoins are not legalised yet. Hence this can be said land has more value in terms of legal movements.

Selling land and buying Bitcoin might be a good idea depending on your situation. A better solution according to me to sell half land and then invest that money in different crypto coins. This way , you wi also have the cushion of safe investment in land which can also grow at stable good rates.

Well, congratulations because you sold the land that your family own, and then you used it to buy Bitcoin which is you only own yourself now. Talking about you being selfish, but if the profit that you will get will be shared to your family then I guess there's nothing wrong.

I don't blame you though because I know the feeling that you want to invest into Bitcoin hoping that you can get profit when the bull run comes. The adrenaline inside of you is too much that you made a wrong decision - that is to sell your family's land, then bought some Bitcoin. I've seen some members here who did the same as well. They sold their land, invested into Bitcoin and doubled or even tripled their money. That is because they invested at the time where Bitcoin is at it's lowest. As for you OP, Bitcoin has doubled already since it's recent ATL of ~$17,000. I'm not saying though that it will not go up anymore, but I just hope that your decision will give you better results.

Also take note that in investing, there's no such thing as "SAFE" and "NEVER LOST" because anytime you can lose your money especially if you made wrong decisions.

If it were his land, I would support him because sometimes we need to make trade-offs to achieve greater success. But if that property involves many other people then I think OP's actions are stupid and greedy. How would you feel if someone took your money and invested it without consulting you?

Furthermore, if investing in bitcoin easily doubles or triples profits, I think everyone should do what OP did. We don't need to work hard, we can sell everything and invest in bitcoin. Then we will have 2 to 3 other houses and a huge fortune. Are you doing what the OP did?

Why in the world don't you newbie investors do your research properly before investing in this extremely volatile market? Are you prepared to lose all of that money? I doubt it since you mentioned it was blood money which is why you took a crazy risk here.

If you earn profit thanks to BTC surging later, the risk would have been worth it. However, if you lose your stash thanks to BTC falling drastically, you will regret it badly.

If anyone isn't telling you the truth on here I will, you messed up pretty badly, you should have use something that belongs to you to invest in Bitcoin, even if it's your parents it will be better, but family? That's crazy, if you are from a family that consists of less discipline people they will start feeling entitled to everything you made using the family land, why? Because it's like you just helped them all, you risk their property, so whatever you made from it belongs to all of you.

Sigh, I am annoyed because I have parents that owns lands and properties and there have been some encounters in the family that involves in lands and it was very bad, till this day some part of the family had to split apart because of this, so I have some experience that's why I am telling you what to expect from their decision of yours, good luck.

Wow, that's one hell of a story. First and foremost brother, you shouldn't beat yourself because things didn't work out the way you expected or wished it should've gone, you failed to go into Bitcoin doesn't mean there wasn't a reason.
With what you heard about Bitcoin giving people financial freedom, is true but it doesn't mean what works for others will definitely work for you, that's where you got it wrong. You can start investing on Bitcoin and things might go bad for you in the line of investment, desperation can make you make that wrong call just because you want to be like others who made it through Bitcoin.

You have a family that doesn't see investing in Bitcoin is worth it not that is bad in going into the crypto world but they choose not to be interested and you can't force anybody to do whatever you want just because you have interest for it, life is a choice brother.
You said you are the educated one and they're not but you still want to force them to do what they don't want to do, too harsh. And I like that you're eager to invest on Bitcoin and you can go to any length just to get it done but where the problem lies is selling your Family property just because you're desperate in starting an investment on Bitcoin.
When you're Investing in Bitcoin or any other investment is not all about the profit aspect you talk about, you lose some and you gain some, because you put it to yourself that you MUST do it, went to sell your family land behind them all to start up your investment, haven't you thought about the negative side of it? What if things didn't go as planned what excuse would you give your family members?
To me your action was selfish.
When you getting into any Crypto business, is best you use what's yours so that if anything went wrong it's on you and nobody to blame you for it or ask you for refund. Borrowing too is not advisable to start up any form of investment.

OP, investing in Bitcoin is much better as you can earn a lot of profit in future. But you have sold your family land and invested in Bitcoin which is not right at all, the land is not yours but your family members will also get share. Apart from this, there is a lot of profit in the land, the price of the land is increasing day by day. Investing in Bitcoin is risky, you may experience losses. If you lose money due to investment damage your family members will take you under the law. You said you sold the land to go abroad, you should have gone abroad to build your career. If you were to go abroad you could easily pay back the land value to the family and you could save, much better to invest in bitcoins with the saved money. It's not that if you can't invest in Bitcoin now, you won't be able to invest in Bitcoin in the future. However, you have invested, now try to convince your family about Bitcoin. If your family doesn't understand, you can sell the investment and return the land value to your family.

You can either be a Hero or you can go to zero with this decision, because this is something that are VERY risky. So, if the Bitcoin price goes to a new ATH (All-Time-High) you can sell them and buy back the land and also show a huge profit... or the Bitcoin price can crash and you will be seen as public enemy number one.  Tongue

I think you made the wrong decision at the correct time, because all indications are that the Bitcoin price will be going to $100 000+ soon. I hope these predictions are correct and that you will be the hero in your story.  Wink

Lol! You are stupid af!

Like Bitcoin, land is also an excellent investment and it is also Limited in quantity. If your land is located somewhere in a remote area, that's fine. But if that parcel of land was located in an urban area, you have probably lost your chance to become a millionaire by now.

Bitcoin works well in long term. So the goal of the investors is to average out the buying price. What I understand you have not done that and purchased bitcoins in bulk at a single price point.

Your family members have all reasons to be mad at you!

It seems that you are too ambitious to do anything to invest in Bitcoin.
Whether or not your story is true, it was foolish to sell your family's land without their permission.
After all, land is communal property, but if the land certificate belongs to you, it won't matter, but it's still a stupid act.

Don't justify such actions just to satisfy your desire to invest in Bitcoin.
Starting an investment in Bitcoin does not require selling family land.
Guess how much I invested at the beginning when I learned about Bitcoin.
I even only set aside $50 to make my initial investment, because that's all I could afford.

And look at the advice given by @philipma1957's grandfather, just sell it if it's profitable and return the land money in full.
And selling land is not that easy, there is a legal process that goes on.

-snip-
So just sell back most of it and give them their money. You already turned a profit.
BTW you lied to your family I do not know how the land was held or the laws of your area (county) but it almost sounds like you did a crime.

-snip-
I have been abused several times but I don't care because I know the money is safe and never lost.
And the part that makes me laugh is, you said that the money is safe and will never be lost.

You need to relearn how crypto works, there are many scammers lurking around, and they could take over the wallet.
No one will guarantee that the money is completely safe, you have to pay attention to that and be vigilant.

Investing in Bitcoin is not prohibited, but you should really think about what you're doing. It's not far from borrowing money to invest in Bitcoin... yeahh, it's not far from that because it's not your own money you're using.. it's your family's money. It's understandable if your family feels pressure and panic when they hear about what you're doing without prior agreement. Moreover, Bitcoin is not an investment you should stake your life on. It's highly risky and quite bold.

Having confidence in Bitcoin is great, but you should also be wise in choosing the money that's suitable for buying Bitcoin. Family property is important, especially if it's the only significant asset. You should also consider your family's feelings. They shouldn't have to feel worried due to your selfishness.

What do you mean by family land? Is this a piece of land that has been in your family for generations but that is solely owned by you? In that case even if your family is mad because of what you did, you were in your right to sell it, so you just need to endure until the bull market comes and buy the land back if you can, while you still retain a great deal of your wealth that you can use in whatever you want.

However if by that you mean a piece of land your family members had a right to, then you unilaterally took a decision that was not for you to take, and in that case your family has all the right to ask you what you did with that money as you acted without their consent.

The leap of faith which you have taken is very courageous but at the same time this isn't something even someone who has been with Bitcoin sine very beginning would recommend, though Bitcoin is not as volatile as altcoins but at the same time there were people who has waited from 2017 till 2021 to withdraw the amount they had invested due to best market and some of them sold for lesser value. I just hope your family and friends understand the reason you did that and I would suggest you to check with this forum before making such once in a lifetime decisions because we have so many tenured and well experienced investors cum traders here they would share there opinion. But one thing, you have choosen right asset for investment and those who are abusing you will be behind you once you start getting rich through this investment which I hope you do sooner than later.

But there is always a chance to enter Bitcoin market it's not like only early investors had that chance, even now there are people invested during the end of 2021 and got more than 100% profit within a year.

A person must invest in Bitcoin to achieve financial freedom, because Bitcoin is a store of value. If you had known more positive aspects about bitcoin to your friend from the beginning, then surely you would have done bitcoin then and made good profit. At that time when the price of Bitcoin has dropped a lot those who have invested must have earned a good amount of profit, and they got financial freedom. Since you have gained knowledge about Bitcoin after a long time and have become interested in investing, it may be good for you in the future. But you must understand and take idea about the volatility of the market, otherwise you may face loss by investing and plan your long term investment. If you don't have a job then never take big ricks because you should invest only if you are in good financial position, any time there may be volatility in the market, and you may face loss that is why first of all you need to have personal funds. Invest when you save money and have a good amount of capital to invest, but you will get profit, but always remember that Bitcoin is safest to employ.

You did something that most people would never think to do: selling family land for cryptocurrency. Its great that you understand the details of Bitcoin, from the text to the fact, but you should also follow some basic financial rules. Spread out your investments and never let them cost you things or connections that you cant replace.

Your family's anger is a sign of a bigger problem with trust and communication. Their dislike of cryptocurrency isnt just due to a lack of knowledge; its also a sign of how individuals with different backgrounds understand new technologies. But making big changes like selling land can cause family problems that are much worse than any money gained.

You've called this a search for financial freedom, but what about the costs to your relationships? This needs to be critically reevaluated. You need to find a balance between your own goals and the needs of the group. Along with protecting finances, making sure that investments are clearly described, understood, and agreed upon can go a long way towards reducing conflicts and protecting relationships.

Selling the family land for your own investment is not a good idea. Telling a lie to make them agree to sell the property, what would you expect to be the result? The regret you feel for not investing early makes you agitated, resulting in investing even without the use of your own money. I don't mean to make you feel bad, but you should have set up a plan first before you initiate any actions as the approval of your family is required in this kind of plan.

The reason why you've been abused and feel mad is that you removed their right to know about the investment. Even if you tried to educate them about Bitcoin and no one listened to you, that's not enough reason to make your own decision.

So you invested in bitcoin with the money you don't actually own, and not only without their permission, but against their will. Great job. You're probably the "illiterate" one in this case though, not them lmao.

You can't lie like that, because that land is your family investment, not as personal just for you. Dude, bitcoin is made not just about money, but about honesty, where Satoshi made long time ago just for goodness people who own that. So if you create the big lier and think if the benefit will make them happy, I think you've gone too far from what satoshi's purpose is. Maybe this time is better for you to be honest with your family, just tell the truth if their money (land) just invest on bitcoin. I don't think that's wrong, because the bitcoin value was increased, you have made a profit, If you tell the truth I am really sure, they will give for you money to buy more bitcoins.

My resolution to invest in bitcoin is final and there is nothing anybody can do about it.

lets go slow and easy.

When did you buy the BTC?

What was its price when you purchased it

If you grabbed it Oct 19 you paid 28k

It is now 35k

So just sell back most of it and give them their money. You already turned a profit.

BTW you lied to your family I do not know how the land was held or the laws of your area (county) but it almost sounds like you did a crime.

The action you did when not telling your family about you using the proceeds of land to buy Bitcoin is not GOOD.
It's not your money so they must have knowledge and they must be aware of where you will use the proceeds of land, it's already lying, like you told if you tell them that you will invest in Bitcoin, they will not agree, it's not good even you luckily made profits in buying Bitcoin.

OP there are things you don't do or consider doing on your own that require the permission of your family members before doing. but you see in the scenario of selling your family land for bitcoin is one of them. You need your family's approval before doing so.

Don't think that what you did was right "selling your family land for bitcoin''. Nobody who hears of such an act you took, will support you or say good of you no matter how you present it to them that bitcoin would make you rich in the future.

Stop defending yourself because the more you do that, the more it sounds stupid that someone sold their family for bitcoin, he or she doesn't know its future fate tomorrow. If one of my family members took the same action you took, I would be very angry because he is sane in thinking of selling our family land as an ideal step to take in preparation for the upcoming bull run of bitcoin

That sounds like a very strong determination. I appreciate what you are planning to do, but you should also realize that there are risks in investing in Bitcoin. You should use safe money to invest in bitcoin, one of the conditions that makes people lose money when investing in bitcoin is when they need money and the price of bitcoin is not good so they sell the bitcoin they have at a loss.

Even though there are many success stories in investing in bitcoin, there are also many people who lose money because of bitcoin. The main key in investing in Bitcoin is to hold it for a long time, you have to consider this and don't rush, adjust it to your financial condition. However, if you already have a strong determination to invest in Bitcoin, I can only wish you success

This is the worst decision I see someone make for a long period of time just to invest in bitcoin. When making decisions, didn’t you think that the land you sold with the name of travelling abroad is not your land but what belongs to your family? What where you think? All I can say to you is that the decision you took was so childish because you used the opportunity of your family's illiteracy just to invest in bitcoin, whereas in bitcoin, you normally invest what you can afford to lose, not by selling the family property just to invest.

Bitcoin is a great investment but it would be a foolish decision to sell your family land to invest in Bitcoin. No one can know what will happen, not even bitcoin, so we often advise each other to only invest what we can afford to lose. But in this case, you sold your family assets to invest in bitcoin and you are just a newbie with no knowledge about bitcoin. You invest just because you see many people improving their lives thanks to bitcoin, moreover you have no knowledge about bitcoin so your investment is a bad investment.

I hope you get the profit you aimed when you invest in Bitcoin.  About your relatives abusing you or blaming you into thinking that you waste the money, it is your fault by not telling them firsthand.  Your relative should have no say on the matter of investment if it is your own money you are investing.  They have no right to intervene with your investment unless the property you sold is a family owned and in this case, it is a family land so they really have a say about this matter.

In fact @OP I think that your action is very inconsiderate because you use the money for your own desire when the money should be shared to the family since it is a family land.

That was a stupid move. Was it before or after you bought yourself a new iPhone?

Just as a forum mate here will say in one of his comments that investing in bitcoin is not a do or die affair. You don't just invest in bitcoin when you don't have a recurrent source of income like a job or a paying skill. We usually advise people against borrowing to invest in bitcoin because of how the market is and from all indication imo the medium op used in getting the money that he had invested in bitcoin is liken to borrowing to invest because from all indications the land you claim to sell seem not to be your solely yours but of a collective family ownership.

It's true we advocating for more bitcoin adoption but we have to put it straight to people when they're doing it in the wrong way, always invest in bitcoin with money that's solely yours and you can afford to lose

Investing in bitcoin is not a do or die affair, and you do not have to use your family member's property or money to do so. Now that you've made the investment, what if the pressure on you becomes too severe and you have no alternative but to sell the bitcoin and compensate your family members for their respective shares of the property? It will be really bad if that happens, but for the time being, your peace of mind will be more disturbed as long as they are on your neck demanding their money. Never borrow money to invest in bitcoin, the repercussions is always bad unless you can control it to the best minimum as you’re trying to do now with your family.

I would understand why your family will be mad at you, because you have sold your family's land. And we all know that in every culture, a family land is very sacred, I mean it might be with your family for generations and generations and it's one way why you and your families survived. And from the way you put it, you might not have consulted them in the first place as you made that drastic actions and so there are going to be consequences.

But not sure though how you made that actions, of course, bitcoin is a great investment no question about that and it can make you a lot of money in the future. However, it's family land, it's inheritance and so it's priceless for me and hopefully though if you make some profits, maybe you can buy back that land of yours. Best of luck!!!
