What if a layer built on top of the blockchain allowed users to mine in pools of wifi networks?

Users could download an app on their smartphone and move seamlessly through a group of wifi networks.
Working co-operatively and independently of the bitcoin network.

  • Making it economically beneficial for everyone to share the use of each others wifi networks.
  • Wifi network operators could receive pool fees like traditional mining networks.
  • Each wifi network would serve as a mining pool, the more users in a pool the higher probability of mining a block.
  • Hashing rates could be determined by bandwidth usage, less bandwidth usage higher hashing rate.
  • Users could purchase upgrades to hashing rates on the network, by contributing funds back into the reward pool.

This may possibly need to be a hybrid combination of a proof-of-stake and proof-of-work.

I also want to point out how important internet usage is for the bitcoin network, providing more access freely for Bitcoin users will greatly increase its probability of adoption.
