the shit show is still around who "won" there will be contention on that subject for quite a bit.

I agree. The way this auction ended was ethically incorrect. Especially since the host simply closed the thread without taking any feedback into account.
To this date, he has still not given any kind of explanation on how he came up with the auction ''winners'' and simply went for the very questionable easy/quick sale.
Sad that it ended like that. Good that he at least delivered the coins. Just my 2cents.

Confirming all 14x coins were picked up in good standing.
Will contact winners for shipping

Well damn, that's good news. All payments are all good then too? I will remove my red trust if all goes well I guess. Honestly didn't think it would go so hot, but glad for the winners/risk-takers! Cheesy

keep us updated, or if that is the end, so be it, I was wrong, but still a shitshow. I only created this thread because it sorta blew my mind after not really following it until the end then reading it all Tongue

Verified awesomeness ✔
From what I have been told, bids can be in any currency and payment also... but BTC MUST be an option.
Mitchell would know more...

The way I moderated was this, if it's in the Bitcoin section of the forum (which Marketplace is), you should accept Bitcoin. You can accept anything else as well, but Bitcoin must be one of them, otherwise it has be in the Altcoin section.

I logged in after a long time just to give red trust to that moron.  I think more should do the same.  I never had issues with large auctions.... oh yeah... i watched and updated it myself.  I wasn't a lazy fucktard like that Garret person!  ....and TBH shame on all who participated in that auction anyway... bids should be in BTC as it's a BTC forum!  Funny how the tail wags the dog when something shiny is up for grabs.

I actually thought the denomination was up to OP AS LONG AS the net result was Btc being used (like chatting about a value in $, Euro, yen whatever but the final deal needed to be in Btc).  If not I’m learning something new. I prefer to use btc, to be clear.

Ahhh...you do a lot more than that for this community.  Wink

Yea and he runs very smooth auctions on a weekly basis! more than just a box shipper!

After reading through the 10 pages of that auction it really did turn into a complete
mess and cant understand why there wasnt a re-run obviously the winners of
the 14 lots are kind of happy since they won something but it was clearly a flawed
and compromised auction.

The OP should have forseen that it was going to be a frenzied finish and difficult
to keep track. I feel sorry for the people who were kind of hard done by.

Would like to hear from these gents to find out what exactly happened? Scam, legit?

Lot 2 InelasticSupply
Lot 13 jackbauercsgo
Lot 8 elianite

Yea idk what to say other than this was complete luck one of my bids hit. I’m fine with everything since we’re escrowing with mj & tbh I worry more for him than us, hoping it’s not some long con to connect with him irl or something. So be safe MJ! And thank you for the risks you take on our behalf <3.

The seller was scared to meet some of the chillest people around the world while saving tons of satoshi premium by not peeling those beauties was a red flag for me 😆

Shocked Angry it’s a BS account?

It has to be right? The OP seems to have jumped ship versus engaging and trying to get a happy resolve. It is one thing to mess up, but this whole things seems like someone who has not seen an auction and is foreign to the forum versus a long standing member from 2011.

I have wondered a little about the pictures of the coins. They never felt like photos someone took pictures of themselves, and now in retrospect, none of of asked for proof of ownership. I think Owlcatz is right, this is probably a hacked account and we were getting played.

Fortunately most of us do a good job using escrow and being suspicious.

I knew that auction was doomed the moment everyone started bidding in USD and not BTC

Likely closed because he didn’t want to continue to get comments being called out on how the auction went down.
I stayed away from this, didn't feel too great regarding the (even though very old) negative trust. Still was thinking about bidding, but then prices went above my head anyways.  Lips sealed

Also, can someone direct me to a forum archive where you can see deleted posts please?

Btw: I would have an idea for a solution to resolve this. Correct me if it's a stupid idea.

How about setting a date, maybe similar time next Sunday, and continuing with 15 minutes left of auction time from a "snapshot" of the bidding list before the chaos regarding the uncertainty of ending time began?

And why is the original topic already closed?

I still don’t think he awarded correct winning bidders based on OP rules, oh well I guess.

I sent PMs for escrow payments... so hopefully funds should be safe

In my opinion, the move to updating the entire list, even if you were just bidding on 1 lot, was the culprit.  With 14 lots, that made it very confusing to keep track of time stamps at the end when bidding was furious.

Agreed... I even recommended to them in the beginning to split it up into 2x auctions to make it easier
And reposting every bid every time is definitely not good for either bidders or sellers

Holy hell, it's a stolen/hacked/sold account. I hope nobody pays this guy with no escrow lol...

I did read it and holy shit, what a mess... Why locked?

Thoughts/comments? red Trust left... Looks to be a stolen/purchased account too!! Sad
