Financial sector needs blockchain because it would help to reduce the transactions prices and to avoid the involvement of the third party by daily transactions. Furthermore, E-commerce also needs blockchain to reduce the prices and to increase the liquidity.

I think there is a lot of area where the blockchain technology can be useful. For example trade and payment systems, medical care, food industries, and government agencies. The biggest advantage of the blockcahin that it can be implemented into several areas.

I somehow read somewhere that many businesses are adopting the blockchain technology thinking that they might be left with the technology but not everyone wanted blockchain. Some of them are just old school that would like to stick to the old ways of businesses.
Well, the old ways very soon will be left behind. in the future, the old methods will stop working. good businessman always adapt to everything new

For me I find it best and fit for the industry of payment system. Since we pay old school for making payments and lining up for the cashier and etc, blockchain helps a lot by easing the hassle for lining up and just use automated payment with just a small time. It give serious good demands for using blockchain as payment method.

Blockchain technology can be used in any industry where it is necessary to store and use large databases of various information on the Internet. Blochkchayn technology has a high degree of security. This property is one of the most important. Technology blochkchain will develop in trade, finance, payments and remittances. Implement blockchain technology countries with large economies, this is also the most important.

Personally, I agree with Buterin, he considers that blockchain is often used where it isn't needed. He has some doubts about IBM blockchain and blockchain-based food trackers.

Fair- that's why I'm hesitant to agree with the idea of every industry needing blockchain technology utilization/implementation. That just doesn't make sense, as it's currently a really expensive method overall, with respect to the network and mining and whatnot. It seems as though companies took the buzzword potential and ran with it, using it as free marketing. It sure did work in the past year!

There may be many technologies that can utilize Blockchain technology in their companies, for example franchise systems, supermarkets and online markets. Or freight forwarding services between countries, because with blockchain technology, the payment process will feel faster and maybe someday the money will also change to digital form

In almost all areas where you can use the blockchain, it serves as a universal data warehouse, which is almost impossible to hack and change. In addition, access to this data can be obtained by any user who has the appropriate rights. Almost any industry can use blockchain technology, medicine, Finance, real estate, energy, investment.
Banking jumped on the chance to have blockchain technology so I assume banking is the first one. I mean bank of america already has record breaking blockchain patents already and Ripple has been working with banks to move their assets into digital with blockchain help for years now, they exists thanks to those contracts. So I think banking is a clear choice with how many banks have been interested in doing blockchain moves.

However insurance and real estate comes very close seconds. Insurance needs blockchain because whenever you get an insurance your record can be kept track at blockchain and you will have an account (basically wallet for crypto type thing) and there will be your insurance and mishaps all deciding on how much your insurance should be.

Real Estate as well to keep track of who owns where and which floor or which land etc etc. That way all over the world there could be just one blockchain that keeps track of who owns where in which country and just like wallet in crypto your "account" will show how much land or which lands you own.

That's a typical good example of blockchain implementation and this means that blockchain implementation is just about everything that relate to us which we make use of everyday.

in all industries, I think it is necessary to use blockchain technology in the future
Not all industries is good with the decentralized system, sometimes the centralized ones will make it more efficient and safer and that's really depend on which category it's needed and we need to find the most suitable ones.
I'm talking about those field that really need the centralized system mainly to regulate so that no one could take an advantage of it.

In addition, there are other benefits of blockchain in the industry is recording transactions through the blockchain almost eliminates human errors and protects data from possible interference. Accuracy is guaranteed from your records, as the process will also leave traceable audit trails.

Blockchains really ensure the validity and transparency, so the first thing that pops into my mind is elections. Maybe somehow using blockchain people and countries really could have honest elections without governments and people with high authority messing them up. Just a thought.

But there are many other areas that blockchain could help.

I'm eager to hear thoughts from the community regarding this- which industries actually benefit from blockchain technology? More importantly, why?

I can think of a few off the top of my head: Charitable organizations, voting, and the gambling industry.

Why? Well, with regards to charitable organizations, I would personally love to see where my dollar(s) go with respect to the donation. So far as good faith goes, I (we) truly don't know where our money goes after donating. How much of that is paid to employees, executives, company, and how much of it reaches its intended location? Here are some large-scale examples from charity fraud/scandals in 2016. There needs to be higher levels of transparency and trust within these organizations, and utilizing the blockchain could be enormously beneficial.

I do believe that this same logic applies to voting- although staff and employees should of course, be trained, there must be large amounts of clerical error, worldwide, when counting the votes. Additionally, how much of a traditional voting system is susceptible to fraud?

Lastly, an interesting and perhaps even controversial one could be the gambling industry. There are massive amounts of trust issues when it comes to gambling- the fairness of the outcomes, the trust required from the player, the accuracy of random number generation, the centralization, etc. I think that with the trustless nature of blockchain and smart contracts, a lot of this could be solved- creating a safer space for players.

Note, I haven't named any particular company because the nature of my inquiry is regarding the industries in which blockchain could actually be useful. If you find a company that is tackling these sorts of things, without taking the word blockchain and using it as a marketing initiative, I'd love to hear about it.

Food industry.
Agriculture industry.
Fabrication production industry.
Paying system.
Mobile phone and internet industry.
All government agencies.

These sectors definitely need blockchain. There are billions of data that must be under constant recording. To achieve this, the blockchain must be.

Logistics.

I would love to see for one hamburger all the path of the meat, from the cow to the slaughterhouse, where was stored, processed, how long was it transported and where from, basically all the bath from it's start until getting onto my table. And same for all the ingredients.

It would be a world more fair about what their are selling to us.

I like this a lot. This is an excellent example, and I really want to see this sort of thing implemented for logistics. If I recall correctly, there's a clothing company or two already attempting this- I believe that this is a trend that will catch on, and one that will become in demand.

It will allow both government and consumer the power to keep companies accountable for their sustainability practices in business.

health industry is another big one that can hugely benefit from blockchain technology. It's much less secure right now and I don't think anybody wants their medical history out there in the open on less secure system. Insurance company etc can also use it to benefit and track transactions easily while being more secure. Pretty much any financial sector.

You struck it on the head with charity. But basically, all industries where TRUST is the issue, and where a system that lets people be more transparent and less able to cheat or abuse trust, is the system that is needed most.

Charity is number 1 there because there is a lack of trust in it. people don't know how money is spent. Or rather, they are told how but there's no way of verifying it 100%. Though actually this is also an issue with government spending.

I see that many people do not understand at all where and how blockchain technology can be applied in practice.

This technology is used primarily where it is necessary to safely store large databases of various information on-line so that people can freely use this information, and the content of this information can constantly change. For example, in my country, blockchain technology is used to securely store land cadastre data, that is, data on all land plots of a country and their owners. For a small fee, any person can get an extract about any land in the state, no longer need to contact the officials for this. Previously, this could not be done as it was impossible to ensure that such information was protected from hacking and changes.

For example, I can put a simple case of the practical use of blockchain tokens, because many argue that ICO and their tokens are useless. Now we have a lot of merchant ships carrying various cargoes across the seas and oceans. In many cases, they returned back empty. Thanks to the information about this that is protected from hacking, ship owners and cargo owners can find each other online and merchant ships can, returning back, take passing cargoes. That is, for the first time on a worldwide scale, on-line, it is possible to use information that will constantly change. Moreover, ship owners and cargo owners do not need to meet and conclude a contract for the transportation of cargo. This is ensured by smart contracts and tokens, with the help of which such payments are made. Such cases can be very much. Tokens can be used wherever you need to pay for goods or services with smart contacts or without them using the Internet, without face-to-face meetings and on a planet-wide scale.
I hope that this information will be useful to many.

Mostly it's the economic industries and system that needs a blockchain technology. Audits and irregularities had always been a burden in economic sector. Blockchain and smart contracts would eliminate a lot of risk involved in assigning humans to carry out transactions. It would increase transparency in private as well as public sectors.

Gaming Industry also benefits from block chain technology since there a lot of valuable data needed within a game it's clearly safer and more secured. Gaming Industry in blockchain also benefits in every transactions made in the gaming ecosystem.
It's not so easy as you said consider about the fact that the blockchain system used the peer to peer distributed ledger system but only a dapps that can adopt it right now.
It's a bit difficult to imagine about what will be used by this game. Decentralized thing looks a bit difficult to be implemented on the game

He was right and also he was wrong.
he was right about Gaming industry but he was wrong about its usability.
just like what you said, right now those gaming industries are using dapps to incentivize their players, sponsors and else. The blockchain is used as a form of payment for them to operate their game, and actually, it has been used as a kind of payment in some store too.
like Steam? Microsoft? and others.

As far as I know those blockchain projects which are connected with Gaming industry, let's say Mobilego for example, they are not only focused now on implementing crypto payments by all means but also we might be seeing deeper attempts to connect both blockchain and gaming such as tournaments being paid for with crypto as a ticket for professional players etc., such benefits as "mining" some alts in a background mode if you are having decent PC specs etc. I mean most likely they are starting to think deeper now than "another payment method" or something.

In my opinion, first of all it is necessary to introduce blockchain technology in the medical industry. I think this is the direction that will become more transparent and reliable with the introduction of blockchain.

Gaming Industry also benefits from block chain technology since there a lot of valuable data needed within a game it's clearly safer and more secured. Gaming Industry in blockchain also benefits in every transactions made in the gaming ecosystem.

Although without blockchain, the previous gaming industry also remained successful, say games produced by EA, Ubisoft, Bandai that have not implemented the blockchain system. For the problem of my own security system, the blockchain is actually quite dangerous if installed in the gaming industry.

The blockchain is used as a form of payment for them to operate their game, and actually, it has been used as a kind of payment in some store too.
like Steam? Microsoft? and others.

In my own opinion blockchain is needed where transparency, accountability and ease of payment is required, because these are the areas blockchain outshines other technology

I think that we need the introduction of blockchain technology in all branches of our life and it cannot be said that some of them need less or more

I'm eager to hear thoughts from the community regarding this- which industries actually benefit from blockchain technology? More importantly, why?
