Hi,

I have joined BitCoin in an attempt to gain access to e-payment, for certain sites online, am I in the right place here? All this talk of gaming, and mining is confusing me.
bitcoin is  cryptocurrency. you can trade it for other paper currencies or buy stuff directly (not many e-shops accepting yet)

the exchange rate is changing as well as with other currencies , currently 1 bitcoin is selling for around 14.2 dollars.  http://bitcoincharts.com/charts/mtgoxUSD#rg60zvztgSzm1g10zm2g25

you can get bitcoins by buying them directly or mining yourself with your computer

You don't need to worry about mining if you don't want to. It's how we buy security for our network. The miners process transactions and get paid new coins.
