Waves is good - you can do it from the Lite Client with no risk and get paid weekly from staking pools.
I use WavesGo which pays you in Waves, WavesGo and Miner Rewards.

Stratis is another good one to stake.

Ethereum in future if you have 1000+!

I saw many pos coin can not survive for few years, what is best coin to stake?

Well, what do you expect? The lifetime of pos coins seems to be going short and short as time goes by. But I am looking at waves to be surviving for a long time in this respect. Waves is getting hard and solid.

xspec for me too, eventho its mentioned

The static reward of 2 xspec is great while the rate of earning per day is still depends on your weight of coin
How do you get a static reward?

The amount is static and fixed to 2 XSPEC. The time period within which you receive the reward is dependent on the staked amount. Maybe "static" is the wrong word from a practical perspective.

Spectrecoin (XSPEC) looks good. Anyway you have others alternatives like waves, stratis.

If you are looking for a coin based on Tor network, I recommend you DeepOnion Coin.
XSPEC is also on the TOR netowrk

True, but they are still not comparable: DeepOnion does not have OBSF4 support or uses hidden services, AFAIK. This is important, as 1) exit nodes can still monitor traffic and thus exploit a vulnerability, making the coin traceable and 2) without pluggable transport support (OBFS4 etc.) Tor could be blocked all together.

I would check CLOAK on your place, because they have good rewards and they are in cheap mode again. You can get reward trough POS, with open wallet and with ENIGMA as part of mixing system. After they finally reveals their code, everything will be changed, and price won't be so cheap as now.

Can anyone remember any coins that stake even when wallet is closed, like nem harvesting? Also would be nice to hear about stake coins that you can have on your phone, I know of energy coin. Any more?

I think what you mean can also EXP do. They have a bond system and you earn dividends every month

As mentioned by sirsplashalot above, XSPEC is working on a light weight Android wallet, which will be able to stake. It's planned for release in the next few months.

Take a look at XSPEC (SpectreCoin)

It has truly unparalleled anonymity and accessibility features (Tor with hidden services, OBFS4, ring signatures, stealth address, zero-knowledge proof) and has PoS v3 with 5% yearly interest. Given the expected increase for truly untraceable currencies (even in Tor blocked countries, like China or Iran), it could easily be one of the future best performing coins.

The next XSPEC wallet update will include innovative low-power staking. The only coin you can stake on your mobile, AND in TOR blocked regions.

No other cryptocurrency has these 2 features.

Can you stake your air drop coins? Even tho you have to hold them anyway?

I think this can be possible with Byteball. I have received some air drops from Byteball at full moons each month and the amount I have received was higher, if I also had Byteball on my wallet.

Yes waves can be good to stake if you are holding it anyway, in the waves dex liteclient. Also zencash give good rewards, and masternodes are cheap. There's some really cheap staking coins that have potential for big growth, 1337 has active development, piecoin was just updated, rain is gaining popularity and staking system is fair.

if you want a coin to survive and build up on years, it is definitely waves. you can trade and gain from risky coins but waves is the one which has a nice team and leader and building itself slowly but secure

Can you still opt out at any time? Or do you have keep them for so long? Is it worth it to stake smaller amounts?

Yes, at least, in PoS, you can exit at any time, both masternodes and staking. Maybe not immediatly - I have a doubt concerning this on PoS - but you can do it somehow quickly.

Any coin that can generate passive income (PoS, Masternodes)...But it's a huge risk because you have to keep significant amount of coins and just keep your fingers crossed that the project will fly. You just freeze your money for some time and hope it is worth it.
