I have mainly used coinbase, but want to expand the portfolio.  Leaning toward Binance, Poloniex, Bittrex in that order.  Any suggestions?
My best exchanges are HitBTC, BitFinex, and Liqui.io - I found these exchanges to be the best of all my business exchange and transactions.

Bitrex, Polenix and livecoin.net are the good trading as my knowledge. There in these I tried some time and really good and easy to open the trade for trading dude. If you want to exchange any altcoin for bitcoin or other altcoin you need to open the trade for the expected rate you want. If the value bumps and any trader want to buy it, you will get the more profit if that trade is successful soon.

Binance finished the yaear as the most growing one. Poloniex is problematic and bittrex is not that stable as it was earlier. Soe people use bitfinex, but I don't like its user interface. Binance exchange is nice at the moment.

Binance is relativly new exchange with huge potential, so far they are doing all the best trying to satisfy their users. I personally don't like bittrex, before it was my number 1 exchange I'd go to, but latley their support is to slow. You may need your money and their support ticket can take ages to solve if it even solves. On binance I personally haven't had any problems.

Poloniex is another one with huge volume and so far it is the "safe" place to trade on but they don't have that many coins as bittrex and binance, btw on binance you can trade like every coin with ETH pair as long as their token and BTC, which comes handy if you are looking to avoid high and slow speeds on BTC until LN gets implemented.

Other exchanges that have many coins on them so if you want to throw your money in some coin thats worth little : https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/ , https://stocks.exchange/

Exchange for ethereum tokens (in case they are not listed on other exchanges) : https://etherdelta.com/

Do remember to not keep your coins forever on exchanges!

Yes binnacle is really cool one and most of the trusted projects get into that exchanger. If the coin is there then the budget for the project is huge and thus it work like a filter where only coin with huge market cap enter and get listed over there. Thus it gives you one step further to trade at right coin or project and make some profits. After binance I think HitBtc is good one. This is selected because not every coin which you want will be available on the binance and thus you have to prefer the other one. But in anyway both of them are good to trade the alts and have huge market volume driving everyday. Binance comes with handy app which is added advantage for you if you want to trade on the run!

The best one depends on your own experienced using it. I think all mentioned here are the "best".

- Bittrex - Large volume, user friendly, have a restrict policy towards KYC
- Poloniex - Large volume, user friendly, have a restrict policy towards KYC (but still old accounts can do smooth withdrawals without verification)
- Cryptopia - Have lower trading volume compare to Bittrex and Poloniex but it isn't literal "lower". Good for playing some altcoins that is not listed on other trading platforms.
- Etherdelta - Less hassle trades since your MEW account are linked to this. (Just used at your own risks)
- Binance - I think this is a rising star . It gained lots of attention in their early phase.

MY CONCERN: Customer Support - majority of all trading platforms are having a problem of slow response. Hopefully it will changed in the future.

Well, first I tried to setup up an account with Binance, but new registrations are closed due to high volumes.

Next, I tried Poloniex.  I was able to set up the account, but I'm now waiting to be verified.  Anyone know how long verification takes and if verification is necessary to start trading?

I also want to boost trading this year sometimes its hard for me to switch exchanges, Im happy with Hitbtc they have good volume but not the best. Is it still safe to trade in Cryptopia now? I heard that they're blocking users without valid reason and pretty scary when you have large deposits.

Why not try Cryptopia and hitBTC? These two sites have a user-friendly interface. You can easily understand how the exchanges works because of their interface. Just be careful in trading, you may actually lose all your money or all your coins.

for large volumes and service this year, I recommend Binance, I think this is the only one trading site that I see very well and has a large volume in it of course it is fun for me as a merchant

your choice is right, because the three exchangers I think are the best but I suggest do not keep all your assets there

I would go with Bittrex and Binance, both have massive volumes. However, they have closed registrations to new people I think. Hopefully they will be opened once again soon. You could also try Cryptopia and Kucoin, both have decent volumes and many coins.
